OK, been meaning to write this review for a while. Let me give you tips if buying a mattress. I will mostly be comparing Sleep Number with mattresses bought at Orange County mattress, cool max Tempur-pedic, a regular Tempur-pedic, and a posh and lavish. We first bought a sleep number. Sleep Number gives you 120 days to try out the mattress and you can return the mattress for a FULL REFUND but usually you are stuck with the base. That goes for both stores, apparently bases, you are stuck with them once you buy them. However, we bought the Sleep Number 360 smart bed. It has air pumping through the mattress, can warm your feet, cool your body, those were awesome features, and since the air is connected to the base, they took the entire bed back. I think that's one of the few times they will do that though. Anyway, with the Sleep Number, we felt like we were sleeping on an air mattress, even though it got more comfortable after 2 months, we weren't fully in love with it, the heating and cooling was our favorite part. So we returned to Sleep Number and went to Orange County Mattress. The salesman are very helpful and nice but a couple things to keep in mind. When you buy a mattress, they will let you exchange it ONE time for a $250 fee +10% the cost of the mattress. So if you buy a $3000 mattress and then you wanna exchange it for a $2000 mattress, you eat that thousand dollars. So I would recommend if you were deciding between two mattresses buy the cheaper one first. If you don't like it then exchange for the more expensive one. Comparing the Tempur-pedic base to the Sleep Number base, actually I think the Sleep Number is better, it's quieter. And they both have similar movements. The sleep number we got did not have a remote control though, you did it from your phone, which was slightly annoying, the Tempur-pedic do you have a remote control. although, if you have a favorite position you want to get to, the Sleep Number had a button on the side of the bed you just push, Tempur-pedic does not have that. Oh, and I think both said they would respond to snoring and automatically adjust the bed but nope, they don't. My husband bought the cool Max Tempur-pedic since he liked the cooling with the Sleep Number's so well but overall I think the mattress was just a little too soft so he went for the firm regular Tempur-pedic and seems to like that. He really hasn't noticed a change in the sleeping temperature. I don't think the extra money for the cool max is worth it. I got the posh and lavish mattress and pillow and absolutely love it, it's like sleeping on a cloud. OK, I think those were my main tips, can't return the base, can exchange one time at Orange County Mattress for an equal or more expensive mattress. read more

By far the worst customer service I have received from any store/business in my entire life. We bought a OCM brand mattress made by Diamond Mattress company. Within 2 months the mattress began to sag and OCM did a courtesy exchange for us. Fast forward 9 months later the mattress began to sag again. At this point it went through the warranty process and was deemed that it had sufficient sag to be covered under their 20 year warranty. Since we had already had to replace the mattress 2 times in less than a year we asked Grace from OCM customer service if we could just get a credit instead of the replacement so that we could used it towards another, more expensive mattress, from their store so that we could keep giving OCM business. Grace persisted on telling us "that's not how the warranty works." Finally after many times back and forth they gave us a credit just for the mattress and not the box spring which was $500 less than what we spent initially. Grace knew very well that wasn't even an option since using the old box spring would void any warranty of a new mattress. OCM employees at multiple locations had voiced that "they wish this was the first time they had heard this happening to this mattress but unfortunately they have heard it happening on multiple occasions." Bottom line OCM is selling a defective mattress and is not standing behind their products. Will not be purchasing another mattress from OCM or recommending them to any family or friends. read more

My thanks to Jessy from Orange County Mattress Irvine. Immediately greeted us and ask if we were looking for a California King. May have had something to do with I was 6ft 3in, 200 lbs. We were shown the different styles, models and price categories to choose from. Even before we finalized our decision Jessy was on the phone seeing what discounts he was able to apply. We were then made aware of the different purchasing options available. We chose the 12 month interest free. After purchase and signing, a delivery schedule was agreed upon. We left really feeling good about our purchase. Although delivery was slightly delayed, I contacted Jessy, who was away from the desk at the time, but still called back promptly, got a firm delivery time and completed the process with little time lost. I believe Jessy provided the type of customer service that we all wish for. OCM should be glad to know that Jessy is a shining example of what customer service should look like. Jessy, thanks again! read more

7/2/2012 Edit » OC Mattress ROCKS !!! After 2 weeks of shopping at both the "Big Guys" & several "Mom & Pop" shops we HAPPILY discovered Gavin @ the Katella location. Every other store we went to (7 in all ) tryed shoving what they wanted to sell down our throats, not caring or knowing our needs. So.... We refer to Yelp for Help LOL. & OC Mattress in Orange is rated very high. So we visited and are very happy we did. Gavin ( the salesperson ) took all the time needed to listen to our needs & wants before even trying to "Sell" us a bed. And I had a lot of questions & concerns. He really knows his stuff :) Long story short.... I will refer everyone we know to Orange County Mattress & Gavin before they buy a mattress anywhere else. PS The delivery team was also incredible. I looked everywhere for a decent price on a good mattress, and I found it at Orange County Mattress in Santa Ana off the 55 freeway. Pedro was my salesperson and he was very helpful and patient while I looked around, encouraging me to test the mattresses. He didn't try to oversell me. I left and went to Ikea to do a price comparison, but it was clear OC Mattress Rocks had the best deals at 50% off. Besides, Pedro was completely honest and full of integrity. I ended up getting a $750 mattress (full-size) for about $380 including tax and free delivery. It's a "Dana Point Plush. The delivery men were very kind and respectful, too. I would highly recommend OC Mattress and will buy from them again if I ever need another mattress, and would like to thank Pedro in particular! Gina, Tustin, CA read more

We had recently moved into a new place and upgraded to a Cal King, getting a sleigh bed style frame from Ashely Furniture, but deciding to look elsewhere for a mattress. Went here thanks due to the good reviews here on Yelp and it worked out great. Prices were very competitive and we tried out a ton of mattresses. A month later and I still don't want to get out of bed in the morning, it's so comfortable. We even had an issue with the slim-line box spring still making the bed too high to get into easily (36"!), and they both picked it back up from us and refunded us the cost free of charge. Great customer service! Even gave us some recommendations for where to get decent sheet sets on the cheap. read more

The best mattress shopping experiance in town!!! Gavin was our sales Professional. He knows his stuff. He took the time and asked all the right questions that helped my husband and I find the perfect mattress for US. Prior to finding Gavin at OC Mattress. We had been shopping for three weekends all over the place from the big guys to the little holes in wall. The larger mattress stores are WAY over priced. The little guys have no selection or customer service. OC Mattress and it's staff are professional, respectfull, and Just Awsome!!!
