Orange County CDL - PERMANENTLY CLOSED due to "COVID 2020" it's 2022 now - Truck Rental Near Me - Garden Grove, California

READ THIS BEFORE YOU SPEND EITHER YOUR MONEY OR COMPANY MONEY ON TRAINING ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!! To give some background, I was offered a job through a huge asphalt and paving company here in southern California that required me to have a CDL with all endorsements. Naturally, I went to the DMV took care of all the written tests on my own, studied, and passed first try. I had to take a class C, class M1, then all the tests required for the CDL with all endorsements (I think it came out to 8 tests total). Next was picking a truck driving school, and learning how to inspect the truck inside and out, and learn to operate and maneuver it. I had no clue what I was doing here, and someone suggested Americas Truck Driving school in Riverside, CA. I went to them, signed up for the program and $2400 dollars later, realized I had made a HUGE mistake. One of those "oh $*&T" moments. I learned ABSOLUTELY nothing, was completely frustrated. It was a joke to allow themselves to be called a school. ON TO THE GOOD I contacted Chris at OC CDL, and it took a few tries to get in contact with each other, but if you're patient and understand they are a small family business, you will get a call back or email. I explained my situation and he fully understood what I was going through, so he offered me the opportunity to come learn through his program, and it was the best money spent to date. Chris and Danny teach what needs to be known for the testing situation, but more importantly, the actually teach you why things are done, how they are used in the real world, and teach it in a way that just really keeps things as simple as possible. Why complicate and already tough situation right? After working with Chris & Danny on 12/17/2018 for 6 hours, I successfully passed my test 12/20/2018. Now this isn't some miracle program - you have to put the study time in on your end too, but if you do I PROMISE these guys will take care of you and give you the tools to successfully pass your test. Thank you Chris - Rachel - Danny. read more

This was an amazing one on one experience. I don't have the time or patience to sit around at a school waiting to take turns driving a truck, I spent a fraction of the time getting my license as compared to my friends also working on the obtaining a class A. This will also cost you a fraction of what most schools charge. Tip: if you have never driven a stick borrow a friends and practice ahead of time. If you have never backed a trailer you can rent one from uhaul for 20 bucks a day and practice in an empty parking lot. This is an intimidating process but there is no need to spend thousands of dollars for a class A. Thanks again Chris! read more

Chris and Orange County CDL was the best decision I could have made!! I had my permit for about 8 months when I contacted OC CDL due to the fact I felt i was not receiving the proper knowledge I needed to pass the dmv test from my "on the job training" That being said I have a insane schedule as I do travel often for work. Chris was more than accommodating with me. We set up a time and date and we were on our way. He streamlined the process so much. Starring at the dmv handbook forever can get a little discouraging. HIs price can not be beat anywhere and trust me I looked!! The truck is about as easy as you can get as well. His study guides made sense and are exactly what you need to pass. I got my license on my first try. A CDL Class A with no restrictions!! Overall I spent about 6 hours in the truck with him. Going over air brakes again, again, again, until I had it 100 PERCENT. Chris was patient and never once made you feel like you just don't get it etc... Even going as far as too figure out the way I remember things. Then figuring out a few trick to help me remember. I honestly could go on and on and on about what a PERFECT experience i had with OC CDL. The price, the service, the success. My best advice is to get on it before prices go up because in all honesty I can't believe that was all he charged me. My raise has almost paid it off already and i have only had my CDL for 3 weeks. Thank me later, I can wait. read more

OC CDL Truck Rental was highly recommended to me by a few co-workers whom have used their services before. I took it upon myself to hire the fine gentlemen at OC CDL. Chris and Rey are extremely helpful, motivating, patient, and highly knowledgeable within the CDL world. I was able to pass the entire Driver's test near to perfection with their help. Orange County CDL - Thanks Again Chris and Rey at OC CDL - Truck Rental Near Me - Garden Grove, California

A few months ago my boyfriend needed to get his CDL training and license. We paid the $900 dollars IN FULL and he went in for his training. The next day California shut down due to Covid-19 and we knew we would have to wait for the DMV to reopen to reschedule his test. Fast forward a couple months later, the DMV calls him directly to reschedule his behind the wheel & for the past month we have been calling, texting and emailing multiple times to these people to secure the rental truck and no one has gotten back to us. This is not right, especially because we have already paid for the rental for the test. I'm not sure if maybe Chris lost his trucks/business due to COVID, if so, that is unfortunate. Furthermore, the PROFESSIONAL thing to do is to call your clients back to let them know instead of dodging text and calls! My boyfriend needs this license for his career and the only thing holding him back now isn't a virus but this company not holding up their end of the deal! read more

Before you waste money at a different school, give Orange County CDL a call! I passed after one day of training and on my first try (I have no prior experience driving a rig). They have a GREAT training system that makes it easy to learn things about the truck to pass the test. And better yet, their price point is competitive! I HIGHLY recommend to come prepared with self-study and an understanding of basic skill maneuvers. This way you can use your time more efficiently. They will provide you with a study packet for the pre trip tests and you can look up on YouTube to understand some tips and tricks about skill maneuvers. Also, if you don't know how to drive a manual transmission I would recommend you learn before going to school! I had Danny training me and he made me feel super comfortable and he wanted to help me with whatever I wanted to improve on. If you have issues with responses as I've seen on reviews (I was nervous about it prior too), send them an email or leave them a voicemail and they WILL respond! I also believe the number is a texting number so you can shoot a message over. It may take some time for a response but you don't need much interaction.. one phone call set me up for my class and dmv appointment. read more

Best trainer for cdl class A one can ever find. Chris trained me for 8 hours total, he is a professional in every aspect. Took the test and got my cdl the first time with no problem. In addition, the cost to achieve a cdl is less than half the price compared to any place . Thanks again OC CDL TRUCK RENTAL. read more

Chris and Danny are the absolute best! I'm moving to Texas at the end of this week and needed to get my CDL before I left. Got my permit a month ago and started calling every CDL company on Yelp. 99% of them wanted over a month of my time and $2K+. I didn't want to be stuck with either one of those two. As soon as I saw the yelp ratings on Orange County CDL I knew I wanted to work with them, because literally all of their reviews were passing scores. Called them up, told them I needed to come in ASAP and got my training and test date in 3 weeks which was perfect. They will send you an email with a study guide and multiple videos on the pre-trip inspection. Focus on that and you will pass no problem. The part that I did have a difficult time with was the skills test, but Chris arranged a big chunk of my practice day towards this, and even allowed me more practice time before my actual DMV appointment! Danny also did a phenomenal job and I would be wrong to leave him out of this review as he was the one that taught me everything! (Chris overshadowed). From what I understand I was the first student to be taught by Danny. Super professional, super friendly, super knowledgeable. If it wasn't for the little pointers he gave me I would not have passed. This was easily the best CDL school. Shortest time frame. Cheapest rate. You CAN NOT beat it. I had never driven with a trailer in my life. Yet passed all the tests and have my full Class A with only 6 hours in the truck! Thank you two so much. You made my move to Texas so much less stressful and I am beyond appreciative. read more

This company is legit. Chris did an awesome job helping me get my Class A license. I had checked out numerous trucking schools and alternatives, all of which were overpriced and required many weeks of schooling. That wasn't an option for me considering I work full time and didn't need a bunch of class time to learn what's in the DMV CDL handbook. Once you sign up he sends you a bunch of study materials for the exact truck that you will be testing on. For the practice time I drove up to Garden Grove on a Saturday and right away Chris helped me identify a few things in my process that could have made a huge difference in the outcome of my exam. The following Monday I took my exam at the Rancho San Diego CDL test site and passed all the exams with ease. Overall it was an awesome experience and I wish I would have found out about these guys a lot sooner. read more

Chris is a fabulous person to be assisting a "student/renter" to obtain their CDL, whether going for a Class A or B. I used Chris and his company to go from a Class B to a CLASS A license. I PASSED THE VERY FIRST TIME at the DMV, with Chris' pre-test coaching. He covered everything from A-Z. All I had to do was study for about one day just before my actual "behind-the-wheel" DMV test...& bam, I PASSED! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHRIS AND HIS TRUCK FOR PRE-TEST COACHING TO OBTAIN YOUR COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE! I saved about $5,000 versus going to a "truck driving school". Call Chris today. Send me a "thank you" when you leave the DMV with your new license in hand! :-) read more

I can't say enough positive things about Chris and OC CDL. He makes everything clear and 100% comfortable and make sure you're 100% ready for you're CDL test. Orange County CDL Truck Rental was the best decision I ever made! Chris is a perfect example of a teacher in that he gets right to the point, listens, and responds with alleviating direction. His service provides all materials needed to pass the Class A/B Driving Exam, as well as, the personal development needed to be a proficient driver. There are no gimmicks and this exam requires your full participation. Fees are a fraction of the competitors and time schedules are properly accommodated. I will finish with one quick experience that I feel explains how valuable Chris's service truly is. During today's Class A Driving exam, several drivers from all walks came up to me inquiring about Chris and Orange County CDL Truck. These men and women either already knew Chris or saw what he is capable of. So fed up with their experiences, they jumped at the gun to either ask for Chris's phone number or to be put into direct contact with the owner. You can't go wrong with this service. Thanks to Chris, I am now an Unrestricted Interstate Class A Driver. read more

So glad I found Orange County Cdl. Chris is a great teacher and he prepared me for my Class A test in 2 days. I had some training in a trucking school but was not getting the training I needed. Whit Chris it's a one on one. I wish I would of found him first instead of wasting my Money at a trucking school. With his help I passed my test on the first try. He is honest. Hire Chris and believe me you won't regret it. His truck is easy to drive and less things to inspect on the pre trip. read more

As I read reviews on yelp for OC CDL truck rental it was pretty hard to believe. Honestly Chris is the guy to go to for training hands down. This guy was fantastic, he got straight to the point. He will not be wasting your time so don't waste his. The Freightliner is not difficult to drive at all, you just need hands on that's it. I paid additional time which was not bad at all, price was reasonable. Once driving this truck you will get use too it. Everything that the DMV expects for the Air Brake Test, Pre Trip Inspection, Skill Test, and Driving portion. Do not worry Chris explains it step by step but one thing is for sure that you need to do is study and like he said "study that packets like its nones business." You will pass if you pay attention and study and take the advice that Chris gives you. I'm happy to say that I passed my Air Brake Test, Pre Trip Inspection, Skill Test, and on the road. The only thing that sucks is that Fullerton DMV kept my license until I get my A in two weeks. They will give you a permit to hold on too until you received your license A. I'm stoke that I passed my test today very happy now I'll be starting my new career thanks to Chris. Just a reminder that Fullerton will no longer except CDL driving in the mid of next year. So go with OC CDL truck rental to get it as soon as possible no joke. read more

I would like to personally thank Chris for his effort in assisting obtain a CDL. I did not have any experience driving a truck and Chris explain to me in details in actual driving and passing the test. On the first day I was a completely lost and frustrated backing up a truck. Chris was like a personal friend telling what I did wrong and I was able to correct this. On the second and third time , my skills vastly improve and I was confident to take the road test. I passed on everyone except when I was driving back to DMV, I passed an incoming emergency vehicle which resulted in failure. So guys or gals, don't make any minor mistake which would be an automatic failure. I should have known this since I have over 20 years of driving. Well , the good point is that I only have to retake the road test and the air brakes, not all 6 of them. Thanks Chris. read more

Orange County CDL is THE way to get your CDL if you want it done fast and at a good price. Chris's truck is easy to drive, (syncromesh transmission) and the trailer is easy to maneuver. He patiently spent plenty of time with me before the test. He set up the exact same cones and maneuvers that I would be tested on, so when it came time for the test, it was a cinch. If you want to pay thousands for your CDL, enroll in a trucking school. If you already know how to drive a manual and back up with a trailer, call Chris and save yourself LOTS of money. read more

Nothing but positive things to say about Chris. From the day I first contacted him to passing the dmv drive test on my first try he was extremely helpful. I had minimal experience driving anything other than a pickup truck and I had no trouble getting everything I needed to know down quickly. He explains things in a way that common people can easily understand. He went above and beyond to assist me by going to a dmv that is fairly out of the way for him. Much appreciated and would recommend his truck rental to anyone. read more

I was a bit skeptical to try this at first because it seemed too good to be true since it had a 5 star rating, but I still decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did because everything went well the first try. For those of you interested in taking his course be aware this is not a school, more of a crash course. You do have to obtain your permit on your own before hand, then contact Chris, he will schedule the test appointment for you. Ether Arleta DMV or San Bernardino I believe are your only two options. You do get to practice in Orange County, but the test has to be performed in those two cities. The reason I said it's not a school because he gives you all the information needed to pass the test in advance. From there, it's up to you to study the material & go over it on the day you practice with Chris. Honestly, I practiced driving stick with my cousin for about twenty minutes & that's it! I have never driven stick in my life, but if you get the concept down, it's not impossible. Not telling Chris, afraid he would turn me down because I would probably damage the truck; I went for it anyway & I did pretty well (I think?). The truck is small enough for anyone to learn on it and relatively easy. If I remember correctly the truck has about 6 or 7 gears. You will train with him on a set day for about six hours & take the test at the DMV a few days later. Chris was very open & helpful. He will tell you everything you need to pass, it will be up to you to remember everything. I obtained my Class B license, but after a couple months or even a year passes by I will definitely return for my Class A. Good luck to all future test takers! read more

"Chris is a miracle worker!" My names Matt and before meeting Chris over at Orange County CDL Truck Rental, I have driven manual transmission twice my entire life and that was over 7 years ago in high school. From the moment I called In I new I was in great hands. Chris and his wife were so patient with my many questions, and trust me I had a Lot! They laid out in full detail everything that is expected from them going over price, DMV test locations, study material, videos that are supplied, the truck I would be using, Etc. after just 1 hr of evaluation and 2 practice days Monday and Wednesday. Chris had me at the DMV Thursday taking my test and I passed, just yesterday on 10-13-16. Chris was such a great mentor and can really help you get your CDL in no time at all. All you have to do is make sure you memorize the material he gives you which isn't much, and pay attention to details and advice he gives you on your practice days. I urge anyone who is pricing around and reading this to stop and give chris and his wife Rachel a call. After dealing with another company (named after a peanut butter) i was very dejected. Thought i would be dealing with another A hole that was out to take your money and teach you nothing. So with that being said the complete opposite happen. I got way more bang for my buck and now i have my class A. Quite easily with the help of Chris. Customer service was great and Chris is very easy to talk to. No attitude or making you feel like your shouldn't even be getting a Class A license. First of all, cant beat the price compared to schools or anything similar to what Orange County CDL has to offer. You're not dealing with someone who doesn't care if you pass or not. His job is to set you up to pass and he does just that. Very calm and relaxed way or learning. So don't feel intimated by the truck or Chris and feeling like a newbie. The truck, very easy to drive and learn. You get very good study materiel, you get videos with the actual truck and his instruction so you can study at home and prepare and reading material to go over and over and over again.
