I visited this salon for a Brazilian wax because it was rated 5 stars here on Yelp, but a 5 star…read moreexperience it was not. It wasn't horrible, but it was definitely not anything special. I will say that Lex was hospitable and fast, the service only took about 30 minutes. However it was disappointing on so many levels, starting with the tacky fake plants outside. The bathroom was cute and clean, but as I walked back to the appointment room there was a bunch of junk stacked by the wall, and the appointment room was brightly lit with uncomfortable paper bedding. I am used to wax spas using nice soft linens. When my wax was over she left the room and did not offer me any sort of wipe to clean up with (as is customary in my experience) and also missed quite a lot of hair in the back. When I met her at the register and told her about this she did offer to go back in and fix it, but I really didn't want to bother with going back into that gross room and undressing again. Typically at a wax spa you would be offered a hand mirror to check before they actually leave the room and have you get dressed again. I was also disturbed by the fact that there wasn't a sink or even hand sanitizer in the room. I can only hope that she was going into the bathroom between clients to wash her hands but who knows! Anyway, definitely would not return. Not for me.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice tea selection. I find that places cater to coffee drinkers and tea is limited to regular smegular Lipton from the local dollar tree. Not here!!! Soooo about my service, Tasha came and got me right away. She was kind and genuine. We chatted during my service. She helped me pick a color and was very affirming. I did the medium pedicure, gel removal and additional gel polish since Cleveland decided I needed rain on my pedicure day. Ugh! My tea was tasty, my feet feel great. I took lost of pictures of everything but my cute toes. I dont post those for free. Lol. This is a modern establishment and I definitely see myself returning.

NAILS: I now experienced nail services (pedicure) at Statement and loved it! My normal salon is…read morehaving renovations so I visited this place. I made an appointment the day before which was super easy. They patiently explained the differences in pedicure types and service process. I selected Statement Pedicure ($60) with gel add-on and removal ($15). I received luxury add-on free - lip mask. I selected colors from an old school book but screen try-one are also an option. I went with tried and true OPI but other options/brands are available. I love the pedicure area that includes privacy dividers and curtains. If you're doing pedicure solo, you can be separated from other guests. If you're visiting with the group, the curtain can be lifted. It creates a very relaxing experience. I asked for tea (quite a few choices) and my tea magically appeared at my chair when I arrived. The chair rotates to let you easily climb in, has gentle massage and heat. Gel removal starts with cute plastic clip-ons for quicker removal. You are asked about shaping and the number of coats. I liked my nail tech and her preciseness. Plan for a bit extra time (over an hour) if you're planning to take gel off and reapply gel. I feel like other salons have more masks as part of the pedicure service, but I was satisfied here. SERVICE: I'd love to add a few other reasons I love Statement. I recently called in to move up my appointment to an earlier time the day of. They easily switched me which seemed like a miracle. Also, so many little nice device touches here - coat room, complimentary drinks, continuously genuine and very friendly service, and consistent quality. I'll be back very soon for a wax.

This European Wax is a consistently very mediocre experience. Due to the operations at this store I…read moreprobably won't be going back. It's not an experience that I'd like to repeat. My aesthetician was very pleasant and friendly. But the wax didn't go as it usually does. The wax was too hot. The after cream wasn't applied despite my skin being red. She didn't really check with me on any concerns - such as whether the wax was too hot or if I liked my brows. It was very speedy visit without focus on quality. There was no after work on my eyebrows with twizzers whatsoever. As always after European Wax visit I went over the work with twizzers later. No one asked me whether I liked my eyebrows or experience. Their work is always so minimalistic for being experts in waxing. The waiting room was filled upon my arrival. There were five other clients waiting, none looked pleased. At one point there were not enough chairs in the waiting room to accompany all guests. Few guests asked about their appointments running late, multiple were called to inform them about the news (with no definitive time to arrive). Some disgruntled guest called in. From the conversation it was evident that their discount wasn't applied and will not be honored (for a referral). They also were apparently burned during an appointment. One of the clients walked out with clear wax residue on her leg. I've witnessed so many problems in my short time in the lobby that it was overwhelming. Prices went up and were corrected on the menu. The salon posted new rules everywhere. No client looking for higher end-ish experience wants to be surrounded by so many rules and signs. It's not tasteful or relaxing. Here are all the new rules. There are no pictures allowed on their premises including the lobby or rooms. Guests with kids under 8 years of age must take them back to the room during the appointment. I can't even imagine how this works to be honest. There is also a rule that if you're in the bathroom, this time counts against your grace period. So it's possible that you won't be admitted to your appointment even if you're physically at the location. I practically live at different salons and I have never seen anything as strange. I didn't want to read the rules but they were everywhere! I used to like European Wax because it was a quick get in and out, nice place, but it lost its appeal. Too many problems for less than average appointments. As always, I'm not impressed with European Wax. I'd rather go somewhere else next time.

I honestly debated reviewing my experience, but it's now been a whole day since my wax and I can't…read morestop thinking about how unsatisfied I am with my service. I won't say who my waxer was, but the whole service seemed very rushed & somewhat unprofessional. We started about 10 minutes late, so right off the bat I knew it would be rushed so that she could catch up with her time for her next clients. As far as the unprofessional aspect of my service, my waxer remained in the room while I undressed & dressed before/after the service, which is absolutely unheard of in any field of service. She knew it was my first ever wax, let alone a Brazilian, which is extremely nerve wracking as is. Thankfully, I wasn't too uncomfortable with the fact that she remained in the room while i got undressed, but I definitely know people who would have been very affected by that, especially for their first ever wax. On top of all that, I woke up this morning with basically raw skin on my pubic area. It is extremely irritated and tender to the touch and I'm very upset about it. She did multiple waxes in the same areas, which was needed because of my very coarse hair. Although I know she was trying to help by making sure she got all the hairs, as a professional it is your job to know when to stop/switch things up to ensure your clients safety, whether it's the result they want or not. Lastly, we were supposed to do a test strip before my session because I mentioned I was on acne medication and the front desk said it would be necessary to do that in case i have a bad reaction. Due to the time crunch with my waxer running late, we never did the test strip. Overall, i'm pretty disappointed with my experience and would not recommend to my friends/family.

I did look at previous reviews on Yelp and I do agree that Laila does a great job! I called on Tuesday night and she got back to me the next morning via text to schedule an appointment for the following day. Her place is not hard to find, on the 2nd floor above Starbucks in Legacy Village. Parking meters not expensive- I just put a quarter in for 30 minutes. Upon arriving, Laila greeted me and was very nice. She asked if I had had threading before or if it was my first time and I explained that I have been threading for 2 years now. She had me lay down on her table and I explained that I wanted my eye brows kind of thin but since my eye brows are kind of straight I wanted a small arch towards the tail end. She worked very quick and paid attention to plucking the stray hairs. After she was done she showed me a mirror to look and if i wanted any changes she could do it as well. I am very happy about the threading and how my eyes turned out. Just for this one session it was $27. Granted it is waaaayyy more expensive than what I'm use to (I paid $7 + $3 tip in Houston) I would recommend Laila's business to any lady who's interested in getting threaded.
