I have been battling Vestibular Vertigo for 8 months. Referral after referral and none have the word, Vertigo. They list headaches. Neurologist: You don't walk well, you are susceptible to falls (6), your medications are fighting each other. You, have no quality of life. With your medical conditions, I can no longer treat you. Referral to Neurologist: after about 15 minutes, I fully described my Vertigo and migraines every day, I don't know what to do. Referral, back to my Dr. After 8 months, he wants me to start all over again. The office left a message, you are asking for a referral to your ENT. Guys, THAT IS A BOLD FACE LIE. I ASKED FOR A CASE WORKER! I pushed the Optum EOL button a while ago. Red flags should have gone up. My Dr. thinks it's a joke. Joke: I start hospice tomorrow! My sister has consistently had to do without important diabetic medications due to the extreme rudeness of their "human" voices, AI responses and lack of honesty in responding and communicating with pharmacies. Today was the kicker-disconnected 4 times in 5 hours already and still no contact with her doctor in filling her prescriptions or even responding to the pharmacies requests! After Healthcare Partners changed to Optum we lost our primary physician. He "retired" (he was young, I'm guessing mid to late 50's). When we tried to change, the other MDs who had been there a long time were also "retired." We were left with choices of young, unreviewed MDs. No fault of the MD but she was literally on the clock during a visit, checking the time during the consultation. Phone wait times increased. We never really had to wait on the phone before. We have to wait one month the get an appointment with physical therapy. Not good when you're suffering pain. Not happy at all. read more

If this review were for Dr. Thiri Oo, I would give as many stars as I could. She is very sharp, thorough, knowledgable, and professional and has a caring manner. She took as much time with me as I needed. What really sets her apart is that she's one of those people who is so bright and knowledgable that she can assess a person thoroughly and get right to the point. For example, she quickly realized I was having trouble swallowing because of a medication I was taking. Thank you, Dr. Oo! I have not been back for this reason: the office itself. I don't know if they are understaffed or what, but all of the experience other than the time spent with the dr. was bad. Customer service is definitely not their thing. Since seeing her, I have tried to call the office for simple reasons. I left messages more than once and never heard back. Recently, I tried to call to give them new insurance information. I tried several times and couldn't get a person. Finally, I was on hold for 7 minutes, then they transferred me to the "right person", then I was on hold again - just as I got a person I had to hang up because I had to go into a meeting at work. It's just hard to get to speak to a real person. I wish Dr. Oo would go into practice for herself or find a better one. read more

I've enjoyed this place the 2 times that I've been here lol. It's really easy to schedule an appointment, which I did so by calling. My doctor is Doctor Iskander and she's awesome! She's really friendly, funny, and makes everything comfortable. My favorite part is every staff member is super friendly! I always leave here in a good mood lol. The only downside I've experienced so far is they seem to be really busy and frantic so there are a lot of people running around and forgetting things like giving me a prescription lol. This is an awesome health clinic to go to! Located right off the 210 fwy. Dr. Elizabeth Smalley is my primary care doctor. She is very professional and efficient. My appointment was at 10am and I was roomed by 9:55am. You can see she loves what she does :) Recently I was in because I injured my finger. I called in for a referral to see their Sports Medicine Doctor and unfortunately his soonest availability was 3 weeks out. Being that I don't live far from here I asked if I could be put on a call list in case anyone cancels. Sure enough I got a call a few days later and Dr. Zipin was able to squeeze me into his schedule. That was extremely appreciated :) THANK YOU! I used to love this office and don't get me wrong, I think my doctor there (as well as the other PAs) and staff are still great. HOWEVER, Optum as a healthcare medical group needs to update their very outdated patient policy of not seeing sick patients in their office. I understand if it was a couple of years ago, but this 2024 now. Society has moved on and Covid is becoming as common as the common cold. When will they adapt and create protocols to see sick, non-Covid, patients that need to be seen by a doctor? If you have any cough, fever, or anything that falls on this long list of symptoms remotely connected to Covid (which at this point you ask what isn't), they refer you to telehealth. What then is the point of a doctor's office if they can't offer you tangible care when you need it? Frankly, how can you listen to my lungs over the phone and let me know if I have bronchitis? And if you are just going to refer me to Urgent Care after, I might as well have gone there first and saved myself from paying the co-pay for the telehealth visit. I know I'm just one out of many patients they have, but they have lost this patient... I will be looking elsewhere during my next open enrollment. Too bad because I was just learning about different preventive programs that Optum offers that looks good. Unfortunately, as a patient, I need to be able to count on getting care when I need it. Dr. Oo is an awesome doctor! I just recently switched over my PCP and network to healthcare partners and it was the best decision ever! Healthcare partners really takes care of its patients! And Dr. Oo is super sweet and attentive. I went in for a bad 5 day cold and she really took care of me and got me the right meds to fight off this nasty bug. She really knows her stuff! I had arthroscopic knee surgery on 9/5/19 to repair a miniscus tear. A week later I started experiencing severe pain in that leg and the surgeon's office referred me for a doppler ultrasound which detected multiple blood clots in numerous veins in that leg. Since it was after hours I was sent immediately to the ER. The attending ER doctor prescribed blood thinners and pain meds and told me that it was a very serious condition and that I must follow up with my primary care physician as soon as their office opened on Monday to schedule follow up care. I called as soon as they opened yesterday morning and was told the doctor would return my call. Mid-day Tuesday I received a call from the office receptionist telling me that the doctor would like to schedule an appointment to see me and that her first available appointment would be sometime in NOVEMBER . . . today is September 24th. So apparently the fact that my leg is swollen to nearly twice its normal size and I can barely get a shoe on because I have MULTIPLE BLOOD CLOTS is no big deal. I'd always been told that was serious. That's what the ER doctor told me, that's what all of the articles on the internet say, and that's what common sense tells me, but apparently not. My regular primary care physician Dr. Namvari of Healthcare Partners Monrovia recently moved elsewhere and the new Dr. assigned to me (Dr. Chak - whom I've never met) is too busy to squeeze me in. But the receptionist did assure me that I could always go back to the ER if I need to......gee, thanks. And that folks is what a $2,000 per month premium gets you! read more

Sadly, I am writing this review after waiting for over an hour for a nurse to read my tb test. The receptionist says the nurses forgot me. I got lost in the check in system. This example is really the main problem with Health Care Partners...the appointments and scheduling are a nightmare. The doctors even say the system is a mystery. I like my doctors fine, but I am realitively healthy. I can only imagine what a nightmare this system would be if I needed to access care on a regular basis. Do not expect to be treated as a unique individual, you are simply another patient to be treated in a long line of many other patients. read more

My experience with this office far exceeded visits I've had with any other Physician's office. They had me in and out of the place in what seemed to be less than an hour. I had prescription in-hand and second appointment set up and I hadn't even finished filling out my paperwork. Yes, I still had to finish filling out the paper work, but the paper work was not the priority, I was. In the end they left a great first impression. Doctors are good. Once again disappointed in this facility I've been waiting for my referral since the 19th of August from Dr escander who is very nice and always listens to me with a sympathetic ear. I called last week and was told my referral should be here any minute and yesterday I called and it was never sent. Verónica tried to fax it over but my work fax is not working for some reason. I have been in a lot of pain even missed work and have been to Urgent Care due to my pain. It is urgent o get this as soon as possible. My only other option is to pick it up myself which I cannot do because of my work schedule. Verónica has been very nice but apparently cannot overnight my referral even though I have been wait for over 3 weeks. I find this is another fail on health care partners. It looks very modern from the outside and the inside is pleasant. It kind of reminds me a wood cabin and it smells like the home depot. :) Well, I liked it b/c I like the smell of fresh cut wood. This place has gone downhill in the last couple of years. I have had several mess ups by nursing staff and the doctors here. I have had Allergies for over 50 years, born with Scoliosis, suffered over 10 concussions which make me have over 15 migraines per month. Yesterday my primary care doctor refused to give me allergy medication which I have taken for the last 45 years, refused to give me a muscle relaxer for my chronic back pain, refused to give me my migraine medicine, but is willing to give me a medication for blood pressure that is known to cause Kidney Disease and my recent tests show that my eGFR is below what I usually run. Is this Dr trying to Kill me? I do not understand giving a person a Diuretic when tests show decreased kidney function but he won't give me an allergy medication which I been on for 45 years and works great. Nursing staff screws up all the time. I had a pre-op for Arthroscopic Wrist Surgery scheduled with my PCP on a Friday before a Tuesday Surgery and Nursing staff lost the paperwork so they called the surgeon they thought was doing the surgery and he said I had no surgery scheduled so without telling me my PCP cancelled my pre-op appointment. So I go and they told me my Surgeon said I wasnt having surgery, so by that time my surgeon's office was closed so I waited till monday to call, and they said my Dr Office never called them and my surgery was still on. So Monday I called HCP Monrovia to tell them my surgery is on Tuesday and then they say will soonest appt is Thursday, which is too late. I asked who they call and they said Baumgarten's office and I told them they are so dumb, that Baumgarten does not do Hands, Orthocenter does! This forced my surgery to be cancelled and unfortunately the Doctor doing the surgery did not like that I cancelled and to this date will not do the surgery I need. I have had several referrals done wrong by nursing staff, like sends me to a Gastro Dr for colonoscopy only without a consultation Visit when I needed a consultation and a SIBO test instead. I have had Doctors order me a Solumedrol shot and the nurse messes up and gives me a Toridol shot so that put me in an overdose state since I was already taking the Pill form of Toridol and I ended up in the ER. I filed a complaint or grievance and HCP Monrovia retaliated and put in my medical record that I abuse Medication. This facility also is backed up an entire month to do blood work. I was written up to get A1C and routine blood work and office give me an appt to come back on 11/26, 4 weeks away. my Psychiatrist blames HCP Monrovia for my High Blood Pressure problems because everytime I see a Dr there, I do not get the treatment I need. And I am simple, I always give a Dr a Spreadsheet of my frequent occuring medical conditions and which medications work for those conditions. Sad to say some of these doctors just do not like patients who are medically educated. read more

I loved my doctor, Dr. Karen Kim but she left Health Care Partners a few months ago. They recently found a new doctor to replace her. I haven't had a chance to meet with her yet, since I don't really have anything to see her for. However, I am excited to meet her. My boyfriend has been seeing Dr. Zipin (sports medicine) for a slipped disc he injured last March. Dr. Zipin has been a great doctor and helping with his recovery and also referred him to the physical therapist to help will the recovery process. The location is facing Huntington drive and when you pull in to the parking lot it is a small lot and parking can fill up very quickly. That's the only bad thing about the location. read more

I've been with HCP since I was a wee little baby, and I've had a great experience with all of my doctors. I used to go to the HCP in Arcadia, but now my doctor is at the HCP in Monrovia. The parking lot is small compared to the one in Arcadia, so parking can be tricky, however if you come in the early morning you'll be sure to score some prime parking. The main entrance is facing the parking lot on the first floor, and the first door to your left is the HCP office. The lobby is clean, plenty of seating and magazines plus a TV which usually runs health PSA's. I agree with some of my fellow Yelper's when it comes to the administration staff. The staff at the front desk usually sounds tired and never have a smile on their face. It would be nice to see bright and cheery staff at the front desk waiting to greet you eagerly before heading to the back for a painful shot! They usually send me a survey a few weeks after my visit asking how my experience was, so I'll probably tell them that their front desk staff needs to be more cheery. They advertised for an 8am-12pm flu shot clinic which required registration. I, along with three other people, showed up around 8:30am and no one was there. Then all the staff show up around 8:40am and tell me that they can't open until 9am because the system supposedly doesn't turn on until 9am. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate to not at least tell us this before we show up early on a Saturday morning. read more

We have been with what used to be Health Care Partners Arcadia, CA for literally decades because no matter whether we had a PPO, HMO, any kind of insurance we loved our doctors, that office and all the staff. When Optum bought them, it was as if Satan took over. It is now the absolute worst service in the world. They outright lie to you on the phone, but considering they are taking calls from somewhere out of state and not the office, I am not surprised they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Optum is like Big Brother that won't let you through to a doctor or nurse or even a staff person who is at the actual desk of the actual office where you want to go. When I have seen the staff in Arcadia, some of them confided they hate Optum and feel it has totally made their work not easier but much harder and that their patient care has plummeted. What a sad, sad day when Optum took over. We will need to look elsewhere now and that is heartbreaking, but having Optum is like having no doctor or health care at all. We may as well call some random number from thin air -- we would probably get better health care service. I feel so sorry for the truly great doctors and nurses at the Arcadia office. I was told by HCP my orders had been faxed to another facility for diagnostics. The other facility told me they had not received them. I called HCP and was on hold for 50 minutes to ask that they refax the orders. Just got off the phone with other facility and not all orders were faxed so they are going to fax what they have back to HCP and let them order an order is missing. What has happened to HCP. Any interaction has become strained. read more
