I wanted an old deck demolished and a new one built. I had called several different people to give…read moreestimates and Ceccola was one of them. Chris was the only one who showed up with all the information he would need ahead of time. He knew, which I did not, that the existing deck never had a building permit nor was it to code. It was much too close to the property line. He didn't take any measurements or really discuss what I wanted done. He was concerned with making sure I could do anything at all considering all the existing problems with the original deck. He contacted the town and it ended up that for $50.00 I could get a variance if I brought the deck one foot further away from the property line then the original one was, which I was very happy with. He came back and went over materials and measurements. His estimate was right in line with the other estimates and considering how prepared and knowledgeable he was when he came out; I wasn't going with anyone else. They started the deck on a Monday and worked between raindrops. It took a day to demolish and the rest of the week to lay the foundation. On the following Monday the inspector came and approved the foundation and they finished it that week. It is beautiful. Exactly what I wanted and not one penny more than the price he gave me. It was either going to take over a week to see me, or they wouldn't repair windows that they didn't install. I found Hockessin Homeworks here, and even though they didn't have any reviews I decided to give them a try. I'm very glad I did. They stopped by the same day, took a look at the window and told me that they thought they could squeeze the job in before the end of the day. Sure enough, they were able to get the rotted wood replaced and the trim put back on & sealed within a few hours. The price was very reasonable. I will 100% be calling them again for repair needs.

A Complete Tear Down and a Complete Transformation…read more This was my second project with Martin's Home Improvement and they exceeded my expectations AGAIN. This wasn't a simple remodel. My home is older, and once demolition began, it became clear that even the studs had to be removed. This turned into a complete tear down. Everything had to be rebuilt and re-leveled from the ground up. Watching the process, I truly realized how much structural knowledge and skill this project required. Tom literally rebuilt the space. He leveled everything properly and created a solid, beautiful foundation before a single finish went in. That alone gave me tremendous confidence. And then came the artistry. The floor-to-ceiling marbled porcelain tile is absolutely stunning. The tilers are true craftsmen -- their design, alignment, and placement are flawless. The shower is custom designed with a perfectly tiled floor, a coordinating niche backsplash, and a built-in seat that looks like it was meant to be there all along. The unique floating sink, elegant toilet, gorgeous lighting, perfectly matched mirror, and beautifully finished linen closet shelving all come together in a space that feels high-end, thoughtful, and completely custom. Tom needs to be cloned. His structural expertise, attention to detail, and vision are remarkable. Tom's craftsmanship is unmatched. This project could have been overwhelming given the age of my home and the scope of the rebuild -- but instead, it was handled with confidence, skill, and professionalism. All I can say is wow. Just wow. I would trust Martin's Home Improvement again without hesitation -- and clearly, I already have.
