The absolute worst customer care and lack of professionalism. I have been trying since August to have skylights installed by G Fedale. I have had to chase them down to order the windows then significant delays without notification. Today is the last straw. I have been waiting for the installers to show up. I called after the window of time I was given only to find out they cancelled and claimed to call me yesterday of which I have no missed calls or VM from them. We asked G Fedale to come out and assist with a leak in a closet. They came out in reasonable time and provided a quote for repairs - a hole near our gutter and required repairs needed behind the chimney. We paid a $500 deposit hopeful to get this fixed before the rainy season started. Multiple other people from the company came out who specialize in different things, because the hole mentioned before wasn't the issue. After 3-4 visits (over the course of 3 months) from different people, we were told "we think it's a chimney issue and we can't help you". We were referred to another company who specializes in chimney work (who I left 2 messages for and still have not gotten back to me!) After requesting my money back, because there was no work done, I was told my job was non refundable. Non refundable???? No work was completed. For the love of god do not go with G Fedale. We had a siding project that was supposed to take a week and a half and turned into two years.. They claimed the people installing our Hardy board were certified but I later found out that was not true. They did such a bad job they had to take everything off and do it again (which still wasn't up to par). Nails.. I had nails all over my house because they didn't place any tarps around the area where they were working which they were supposed to per our contract. The handling of my material, waste they created and the actual care of my house left me more furious.. They dropped off brand new Hardy board sheets paint side down in my driveway with no protection between And the other boards and tools were littered everywhere in my yard. The dumpster was loaded with bundles of nails that we paid for just tossed away. Unfortunately I'm still dealing with these people, I still have a lot more to say but for now, stay away from these guys. read more

Short version: --High prices, subpar workmanship. G Fedale charged us top dollar and completed the work in the cheapest possible way. --Poor communication and job oversight/management, important job details weren't communicated to subcontractors; we were misled about the quality of work delivered. --Quality control issues from start to finish. Sloppy, unfinished-looking work, multiple repairs needed already, several still outstanding. --Poor job follow-up, lack of professionalism. They came back to address a couple issues but when we started finding other problems and questioning why things were done a certain way (wrong or cheaply), the project manager got rude and defensive. Even straight-up ghosted us for weeks while we were waiting for them to come back to fix a leak on a roof they replaced. Long version: Contracted with G Fedale in 2022 for multiple roof replacements and repairs, chimney rebuild, new drainage system on our main roof. The works. Price tag was much higher than other estimates we received but winter was approaching and we were at our wit's end. We had been struggling with water problems and got burned by two other roofers. We needed the job done right and were assured Fedale was best able to address the issues and deliver quality workmanship. We accepted all of the recommendations proposed in the estimate. Even let them talk us into a chimney rebuild, which we didn't think was necessary. Fast forward to today: still have water problems and the quality of workmanship delivered is far below what we expected. There has been one problem after another and it's been like pulling teeth trying to find out what's going on and what is going to be done about it. We've had a few other contractors look at the completed work. Terms like "hack job" and "scab work" were used to describe parts of the job. Specifics: --They installed a cheap, damaged scupper box (it's actually dented and buckled at the seams) in the wooden soffit under our main roof. They had to cut an opening in our soffit to install it but made no attempt to repair or seal the area afterwards. Just left damaged wood and wide-open gaps in the soffit completely exposed for bugs, water and whatever else to get in. Any water overflow or leaking from the box will go straight into our soffit/roof. --Multiple patch/band aid repairs were made to attempt to fix the poor workmanship. There was a leak from our main roof that they replaced, an issue with the downspout they installed that was causing water to splash against the side of the house and up under the wall flashing. Several other issues were found just recently: loose chimney flashing, loose flashing inside our roof drain that's been preventing half of the roof's water from draining, missing patches on the new EPDM roof they installed, water spilling over the sides of the roof because the slag stop they installed is too short. The corner membrane on another roof they replaced is already coming apart and needs replaced. --They installed new drip edge over top of 10-year-old fascia metal. This fascia metal came unattached recently and had to be re-secured. The new drip edge was pulled back as well and will need fixed. We were told the fascia metal wasn't part of the roof (it's literally in the same place as the drip edge) so that's why it wasn't replaced. A better inspector/estimator would have brought something like that to our attention in the beginning and recommended replacing it. A better project manager/ work crew could have done the same. The strip of fascia metal was only covering a ~15-foot-long section of the roof; would have cost next-to-nothing to replace. Things like that say a lot about the type of company/people you're dealing with. They do the absolute bare minimum and if they can get away with doing even less, they'll do it. --The project manager purposely withheld all pictures of one of the jobs. Said he wouldn't send them until after the certificate of completion was signed. I ended up crawling out on the roof and taking pictures myself. Wasn't the first time either; my 70+ year-old mother had to do the same on another roof. Despite the premium price tag (~28k worth of work), we were delivered substandard workmanship far below our expectations and what we were led to believe we would receive. We definitely did not get what we paid for. To their credit, most of the EPDM work looks OK from the top. Nice and flat, no wrinkles. We had another company do a botched EPDM install a few years ago; bad seam work, huge wrinkles all over the place. They tried telling us it was installed properly (it was not), that the wrinkles were normal. The owner eventually came to our house, actually stood out on the roof with us in person and said there was nothing wrong with it (as we were standing there on a sea of massively bubbled/wrinkled EPDM). That company was Tycos, in case you're wondering. Hopefully they've learned how to install EPDM correctly by now. read more

We signed contract promising magnetized sharps cleanup, asked on date of project completion for contracted magnetized clean, didn't get it. Foreman promised to return with magnet & call in advance. Never called, never returned. I cleaned razor blade & some nails from grounds myself waiting 10 days for response. Then called salesman Evan for magnetized clean, no response. Called your office, spoke in person with employee, stated our complaint & that I would write a review publicly. Next day foreman was rude, contentious to me on phone & in-person to my wife. Both of us gave permission to him to return to complete cleanup. He antagonistically claimed only 1 nail was on grounds. Our house only required the shingles & coverings to be replaced on front & back roof, about 8/12 slope, very good wood integrity, & total area about 850 sq. ft., no protrusions other than small vent pipe & chimney on south edge (no angles, windows, dormers, etc.). After we paid the initial 1/3 of the quoted price to secure the project, our experience changed with G. Fedale: - significantly less contact, from more people unknown to us, & much slower to respond to our calls. - G. Fedale said they were coming the week of Thanksgiving, so we delayed our holiday decorating. They did not come that week, did not call. - G. Fedale then said they would do project Tues. Dec. 12th beginning between 7:00a - 8:00a, finish that same afternoon. - Workers arrived at 6:00a and sat in truck in our driveway until foreman arrived at 7:00a. Woke up all of us. - Roofing portion, dumpster removal did take only one day as promised, work completed by about 4:00p. - Workers knocked down our Comcast cable coming from street into house. They never told me they knocked down cable, I happened to see it. When workers restored cable to the eave hook, they did a poor job of it (2 pictures attached). Cable came down again 4 days later in rain storm. I had to go out in rain on my ladder to properly reattach cable. - So far, no leaks from the roof that we noticed, but I haven't been able to get up to the roof to fully inspect the quality of the whole work. - Workers very poorly cleaned up premises, removing most trash and scrap pieces. There are still a lot of small pieces around the property. - Workers left over 2 dozen unused nails in various parts of our gutters, which I found and removed. - Next morning foreman returned unannounced to us to pick up sharps from ground, & told me "...(he) forgot to bring the magnet." I told him that was important to us, was promised in writing, important part of our decision to hire/pay G. Fedale. He promised to return next day with the magnet & to call before he arrived. - foreman never returned next day, never called. Found over next few days: razor blade, 2 roofing nails, & long wood nail, all close to house. See pictures. - Called G. Fedale salesperson, informed him of sharps, & told him to alert foreman to come back to house as promised to magnetize, remove sharps. We have 4 dogs at risk for cutting their foot pads, expensive vet treatment to stitch such injuries. Also, risk to mow lawn & shoot sharps out the discharge, possibly seriously injure someone. - Not salesman nor anyone from G. Fedale returned my call. - Called G. Fedale office 2 days later, spoke with employee, explained situation, & again instructed to magnetically remove sharps as contracted. - Foreman came next day with magnet, but called me on phone to combatively antagonize me, saying there was only 1 nail he found, & that I shouldn't complain because he previously magnetically checked premises. Even if that were true, I should never have found a razor and 22 total nails if he used magnet as claimed. G Fedale installed a metal roof on my house and the job entailed rip off of asphalt roofing replacing rotted roof deck and installing standing seam roofing. From the start, this was horrible experience. They just dumped all the old roofing material into and on top of the landscaping around the house and I'll probably be picking this up for years. As to the install, at every turn work was sloppy, metal cuts were sloppy, crooked and jagged. As to the siding, despite the contract calling for the possibility of minor touch up paint being required, they ended up mangling several courses at every vertical wall intersecting the roof. Even after several attempts to correct issues the sloppy and unprofessional results remain. After the last employees came out to address the issues, the results are horrible. Also, they stated that they didn't think they were actually responsible for destroying the siding and that their contracts usually disclaim siding damage while acknowledging this wasn't what my contract said. I think I was very patient waiting for them to correct things, but apparently this is beyond their capabilities. They should mention that they are going to mangle the siding and include a price to replace the siding since they apparently can't install a roof without replacing the siding. Even the gutter work subcontracted to the gutter guys, was subpar with ridiculous assembly's and things not attached and blowing in the wind. I could go on, but it is clear to me that they don't have the capabilities to execute a metal roof of this type and shouldn't have taken on a job they were obviously incapable of doing to any level of competence. read more

Average work at a premium price Contracted Fedale to replace my house and garage roof after the recent tornado caused extensive damage. The roof install went well with 1 exception. The drip edge over the front door was cut to fit over the old gutter spikes. The new gutters were installed with a system that does not use spikes, the end result was tabs cut in the drip edge all the way up to the decking. After 4 attempts to get it repaired, the final solution was to pull up the leaf guard to hide the tabs. This is not a solution, as the integrity of the drip edge is comprised. It sets up a situation for ice and snow to back up under the shingles. The project manager disagrees and refused to do a proper repair. I expected more from a contractor that was 10% higher than the next bid. Buyer beware "you don't always get what you pay for" read more

Recently had G Fedale complete my roof replacement, and they did an outstanding job. Just calling in and being able to talk to an office person who isn't trying to rush you off the phone was pretty great. Jen B. got me scheduled about 1 week later with Joe S. When Joe came out to my home, he put a good amount of information out for two different shingle manufacturers, so I was able to make an informed decision between the two along with understanding where my budget was at. Once I signed the contract, late afternoon on a Friday, I had my 1st email regarding scheduling my project first thing Tuesday morning, which is phenomenal. Their way of walking me through the team of people involved in my roof replacement was great. Now I did pick a rare colored shingle, so I was not surprised with the 2-week wait time for them to get started. When the materials came in, the Project Manager, Jon M, updated me, and I was on the schedule for 2 days later. When the Site Manager, Chris B., showed up with his crew I was very pleased that they showed up 10 minutes or so before the start time I was given and they kept pretty quiet while arranging their tools and drinking coffee while what looked to be making a plan for the day. At 7:00, Chris B knocked on my door and went through everything to expect throughout the project and even gave me a heads up that bad plywood isn't always caught from inside of the attic on the sales guy's end so there's always a chance there may be some. This certainly lightened the load when it was found we needed 7 pieces replaced. To have someone be straightforward in the beginning let me relax as we breezed right through explaining what and how bad the damage was while the team was replacing the bad pieces. After this, Chris informed me that he had to go check on another 2 crews and introduced me to the Crew Lead, David. David was extremely polite and let me know that if we needed to leave for any reason, to just shout out of the door and they'd stop and come make sure we can get to the cars safely, which they actually did and this was going above and beyond. True gentlemen and extremely hard workers. The guys finished the roof around 4:30 p.m., and everyone was doing clean-up work and packing the vans up until it got dark. David informed me that Chris would be back within 48hrs to do a final inspection of their work and to clean up any little debris that they may have missed. Let me tell you, those boys missed about 2 nails in the side yard and a few tiny cuts of shingles. That's amazing clean up after such a large and messy job. Just as David said, Chris showed up around 3:00pm. the next day and completed his final inspection process. Afterwards, he brought us both outside to see if we had any questions or concerns and he pointed out a few things that are new to the roof system that we didn't have before so we weren't left wondering even though I'm sure Joe told us during the consultation. The entire job from my initial calling in to the end of the job was handled professionally and by a great team of people. G Fedale has gone well above my expectations of any roofing company, and I will HIGHLY recommend them to all of my family and friends. I couldn't be any more happy with my new roof, the company and the peace of mind that their workmanship warranty gives along with the manufacturer's warranty. We had a good experience with our roof replacement. Matt and Frank stood by their work and didn't hesitate to come back on site when we discovered issues. Everyone makes mistakes but good companies own them instead of making excuses. Pros - Good quality work which they stood by. They were comparable to other quotes we got but were willing to work through insurance to get us help with some of the cost since there was storm damage. Good communication once the job was scheduled. Addressed any issues quickly. They wore masks whenever they needed to come inside. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Cons - Subcontracted everything which led to some minor discrepancies from what I was told initially. Communication was a little slow in the beginning. I get that there was a lot of back and forth with insurance but we went a month or more with no contact during that time. One of our skylights is a little bigger than originally explained so we now need to reframe the interior. We were originally told the skylights would be within an inch of the originals but didn't find out this discrepancy until the install day. Well, the whole job was subcontracted and the group doing the install spoke no English, so there was a language barrier and the project manager didn't know Spanish and did not relay the few requests we had to the subcontractors doing the work. I just had to share my experience. On 11/7/19, I was horribly lost somewhere on I95. Being Diabetic, I began to feel very ill after sitting on the shoulder of 95 for so long. It was beginning to get dark and I cannot see well enough to drive at night. I had no sugar with me and my phone was about to die. I began to wave down vehicles, when a G. Fedale truck pulls over. After explaining my situation, this young man goes out of his way to help me. He led me back to a familiar area and refused to accept the money I offered. I am so grateful to him. G.Fedale replaced a roof on our property approximately 2 years ago. Sales professionals were very detailed in explaining materials/options/warranty/cost. They also reached out to our homeowners association for approval of materials chosen. In addition, we included installation of an attic fan, choosing one researched and recommended by GFedale. The condition of our property during installation, (any debris was immediately removed), prompted several neighbors to use their services as well. In December 2015, we experienced a water leak in our home while we were away that destroyed our living room ceiling. My husband is a perfectionist who completes most projects himself. Drywall, however, is a skill he has not mastered. GFedale repaired and repainted the ceiling exceeding the expectations of a tough skeptical critic. read more

The whole process of getting new gutters was completely professional, efficient and nicely done. The contract was thoroughly done, and Mike made sure everything was spelled out for me and what I wanted was their primary goal. I was told when the guys would be coming out, they came out that day, performed the job, and re installed the gutters, all in about two hours.(removed old gutters, reinstalled gutters, and cleaned up the work area) They did a beautiful job, they even contoured the gutter downspouts to the contours of brick wall and stone foundation. I don't understand the hype. Maybe it's their personalities, because they were a pleasant to speak to... before the job. I paid ~$20k for a TPO roof, 21 square. The drip edges were NOT installed properly, and I cannot for the life of me get them to admit this fault. They're supposed to start from bottom of the slope on each side and work up towards the apex so that the drip edges overlap. Instead, they went from one side and continuously installed up slope, and then downslope. The downslope regions have exposed flaps, which allows water to roll right in. I told them that frost wedging will pop this out, and they insisted they did it correctly. After the first snow we've had, sure enough, the drip edge gap started growing. You could fit your hand in between the gaps. So what did they do? They agreed to use a flexible seal over the overlaps to prevent water from rolling in, but instead they used a cracking caulk. They promised to replace that, but they didn't. I had to call them over to address the ever growing gap between the drip edge and the fascia. The guy used really short fasteners that didn't fasten anything; I had to tell him to switch to a longer fastener. The guy tried to leave after installing like 4 screws, and I held him there to finish up the job. He had to install screws basically along the entire front and back perimeter of the roof. He started to blame my fascia for not being straight instead of admitting their fault of incorrect installation. By the way, they teach you about frost wedging in middle school geography so this is not rocket science. Furthermore, a week following the snow storm, the chimney flashing popped off. An inspection reveals that they installed the fasteners with little to no edge distance, which means most of the load was carried by their sealant which eventually failed. I have to repair drywall damage due to the chimney leak. It took them over a week to come over to fix the chimney flashing. Would you pay $20k for headaches? I wouldn't. Biggest regret in my life yet. All of these troubles emerged within the first 3 months of the new roof. read more

The estimate literally came in thousands of dollars less than than their competitors. They did a spectacular job Installing the roof and my new front door looks beautiful. They were there when they said and the job site was left spotless. I really believe they set the bar with their workmanship and professionalism. Fedale evaluated the situation, gave an estimate, and returned on schedule to do the repair. Their team was professional and outstanding. Absolutely horrible. Called them 3 months ago to fix our house after damage was done to it after hurricane and tornadoes came through. Max came out said they could fix it, then continued to push us off month after month as we continued to get push back from the insurance company because things were taking so long. We then received an email from Max that he was no longer with the company. I called the company explained the situation and was told we would receive a call from Jake. Jake never called. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESPONSE IN DELAWARE. I filled out a form on the GAF website to have their new solar shingles installed on our home to which they referred us to G. Fedale Roofing. G. Fedale sent out Ryan first who became non-responsive, giving excuses of how busy he is and so on. I called their location to explain to them how as a local business owner this is unacceptable that I have to chase after their employee to give them our business??? Matt Wiley apologized and said he will send Joe out who has over 10 years of experience and would take good care of us. Joe came out several months ago, gave us a quote and also has become non-responsive. I sent multiple emails and even called one of his framers who visited our home to view the scope of work. The framer called me back and said he spoke with Joe and that he is really busy and will contact me soon??? It's been about a month since that communication and the last communication from Joe was on 4/7/22 and today is 6/1/22. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! read more

G Fedale completed a project that included removal and replacement of masonary on the front of the house, the removal and replacement of an entry door and the removal and replacement of eight windows. They offered a fair price, were on site as scheduled, and completed the project timely. Jasen, Joey, Chris, and were great to work with. The front door work proved to be a bit of a challenge but they made it right. What more can you ask for? read more

Called them up and scheduled an appt. for free estimate to replace my roof. Showed up on time. Was here for an hr. Said he'd email me invoice. I'm still waiting and that was 3 weeks ago!!!!! I suggest you not use this company. read more
