Also, I later learned that even though I was billed for permits, the city had no record of any application for permits. This means A&B also faked the city inspection, so I don't even know if the work was done properly. When I contacted A&B about this matter, I received no reply. I advise looking elsewhere for a reputable contractor.

And he was even responsive via text which made this whole process even easier than call after call. Definitely recommend his business. I recently contracted Bresch to repair a window and was given a quote with the understanding that…read moreif there were more damage to the area surrounding the window, the price would increase. When the window was torn apart, additional repairs were needed and he never came by to give me another estimate for the expanded work that would be involved. When I got the bill he charged me over twice the going rate for a contractor - i clearly felt that because he did not provide an estimate, he took advantage of the situation. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau, but they would not help because they completed the work. BEWARE! if you use this contractor make sure everything is in writing and do not assume that you will be fairly billed - because he will inflate the bill to more than double what it should be and the BBB won't help because it is a billing matter... IT is too bad because he just lost my future business because of this incident.

They stopped by the same day, took a look at the window and told me that they thought they could squeeze the job in before the end of the day. We were scheduled for a roof replacement, new gutters, and masonry repairs. All the work was completed within two weeks. Lane did everything they said they would and on the schedule they provided. To be sure, this was the least stressful construction/contractor relationship I've ever experienced. The final cost matched the estimate. Throughout the entire process, Lane communicated everything - when they were starting, who was showing up, and how long the work would take. They cleaned up every day. For perspective, our roof is a nightmare with some very steep pitches, multiple dormers, and a chimney running through the middle of the roof. The last time we replaced the roof, the contractor took over a month to complete the job. Lane completed the roof in less than a day. To be sure, Lane was the least stressful construction/contractor relationship I've ever experienced.

I gave my address and never heard back, so I moved on to another company. Today, 10 days after they never responded after I gave my address, while in the middle of a meeting, I hear a bang outside and my dog freaks out. I go outside to find two men with a ladder against the front of my house and climbing to the roof! I had no idea they were coming and they were fully on their way to climbing up my house without my permission! The problem wasn't even on the roof, so I have no idea what they would have done once they got up there. When I messaged the company to say I didn't appreciate them coming unannounced and unscheduled, I was told it was my fault for not specifying that I expected a call before they showed up! Wild. Do NOT send this company your address--even for an estimate--or else they may randomly show up to your house and climb up on your roof unannounced and they will go up there whether you are home or not. Then if it bothers you they will blame YOU!

I have found Marcy the owner is to be straightforward and honest, and though she can be a bit brusque at times, as she is in the Philadelphia roofing business I can understand. Their pricing is reasonable for quality of work. No roofer is cheap and if you apparently find one, don't trust them. We have a complicated roofscape (skylights, large AC unit mounts and penetrations, and major crickets required to clear drainage obstructions) and some leaking problems that predate our ownership. Castelli, and particularly their foreman Jimmy, have been generous in attending to drainage problems that may or may not have been a result of their work. I appreciate their work and the efforts made to help us negotiate our finicky roof.
