HORRIFIC customer service experience, both on the phone and in person. They all have different information in their "system" and can never provide clear answers, yet are all confident that they know the answers. As another reviewer mentioned, supervisors never return calls. Specifically a woman named EMAN at this Wappingers location was VERY condescending - kept cutting me off before I could clearly and fully describe my situation and claimed that because she worked there for 20 years she therefore MUST know the issue, even though I'd already spent a month and several hours talking with various customer service reps, none of whom were able to sufficiently help and all gave me different information. She raised her voice at me, had a terrible attitude, and told me that we shouldn't rely on the customer service representatives (in store or over the phone) to give us the most accurate information about our accounts!! Then who are we supposed to ask!?! So much for customer service - completely useless! Be sure to follow your account closely because they will add on fees, tell you can remove them if you contact customer service,, then charge you an additional fee if you don't pay the fee they promised you you could remove. Pros: Excellent service for diagnosis and repair of technical problems. Walk-in customer service center in Wappingers with friendly, competent staff, and fast service. Good quality reception with very few losses in service. Cons: 1. No on-line removal of TV package services, even though they have on-line adding of TV package services. Spent hours and got run around and put on hold again and again just to drop to lower cost package. Bullied and questioned, instead of just letting me change package. After a fire in my complex, I called letting them know to disconnect service. After being displaced for 5 months, I was charged for equipment and not receiving services (yes I said that right). After returning the equipment and a month and a half of "we will have someone contact you back" I am still without cable and Internet. Please keep in mind that I have never been late on a payment and I was currently up to date 2 days prior to my neighbors fire. I would not recommend this company due to lack of professionalism and respect for loyal customers. Unfortunately I am unable to have any other cable provider in my complex and after 5 months of being displaced, I am now a month and a half cable and Internet less! After many, many years, I am getting rid of Optimum TODAY! Their "Customer Retention" telephone staff is rude and disinterested in helping with their exorbitant fees. I am paying $175 month for one TV which we feel is ridiculous - that doesn't include extras like HBO, Showtime, etc. We are done! The internet service went out for several days at a time and at least twice a month. I finally had to cancel the service and went to Fios. When I returned my equipment to Altice Optimum they told me to call 845-297-3333 to speak to a representative about receiving yet another credit for services not provided. That phone number kept ringing and no one answered. When I called the customer service number listed on line the representative argued with me about speaking to a supervisor when he could not find the notation that we did not have service. This has been an ongoing problem with this company. The same scenario occurred several years ago. So the next day I got a call saying my installation date might not work because there was no record of me setting a date. I reiterated everything back to her, and she said maybe the guy got confused. ABOUT WHAT?? How to do HIS JOB??? She then refused to file a complaint for me about said idiot. So then I had to call again and complain about everyone! Then my first bill was nowhere near where they said it would be- REGARDLESS of the activation fee and "partial month" fees. So I'm done with Cablevision/Optimum. Follow-up to my 11/14 review...Called again today...STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH DVR SERVICE (black screen!) The CS Reps are either "know it alls" with incorrect info or don't listen to what the customer is saying. I've asked them many times to stop reading from their script and to actually read months and months of the same complaints.. My issues with equipment/service was transferred to Escalation Dept, giving me direct phone # for a supervisor. Doesn't help when sup won't return calls. Totally unable to play back any recorded program today...only black screen. All CS ever wants to do is reboot. I REFUSE to reboot every time this happens - on average most days. I pay on time for services, although services don't work as they should. The minute FIOS brings cable service to my neighborhood, I will switch so fast their heads will spin! read more

They need new tv and internet people. Optimum sucks I asked for a supervisor and they won't get on the phone. They left me on hold for over 25 mins they said the supervisor wants to know what you want. I never seen such incompetent people in my life. I pay for internet speed to be over 400mb and it never goes over 100mb, my DVR doesn't work half the time. They just want to send someone out all the time. Then they cancel cause they are busy. The Altice sucks I regret switching. They said I can switch back if I want to now they are saying I can't until I make enough complaints. This review is for the store in Wappingers Falls. I have never had any problems dealing with any of the reps there for any reason. They are helpful and friendly which is more than I can say for the corporation themselves, their online reps or their telephone reps. Do yourself a favor and take the time to go to this store and speak to someone in person. I have found it to be much easier to resolve any issues or get answers to any questions by going there in person. Don't waste your time with the telephone reps who aren't interested in issues and only want to upsell products and services. There is a much shorter wait time too. read more

The only reason there is a star is because you can't leave a review without picking a star. Absolutely the worst company and customer service and useless techs I have ever experienced. When my father passed we set up a new account under my mothers name. This all happened in the end of June. The new service was set up and the old number never got ported after multiple promises from techs it will happen. They haven't even been able to activate the "new" number associated with the new account. My mother (elderly) has been without a home phone for two months. After several hours multiple days a week on the phone with multiple transfers to different techs with "higher" levels of support access all with return phone call promises and not one return call. Then in house tech appointments where the tech never shows up. Then you find out that they never were coming because of the same reason they have been having trying to port the numbers. But no-one called to say they weren't coming. Now they tell her she has to go back to the brick and mortar store that we have already been to and for her to bring proof of death which we had during the first visit and the store told us they dont do tech support and are only a retail location. But they said to go back there. We will see what happens with this next visit. All techs on the phone have been dishonest and misleading. Not once would they allow us to speak to management. Every call we ask to speak to management and they "are not available", but our case has been referred to them and they will call back. Never a return call. Customers beware...... Optimum Online is sketchy and shady!! I got cable vision three months ago, left Verizon. They promised me a gift card to sign up for triple play. Figured it was a good deal. A 250 dollar card. I said sure.. was told on phone it would come in mail. So I paid the installation fee etc.. well the tech at installation tells me that it takes 3 mo... I was like what??? He said yes, didn't they tell you. I said No one told me any such thing. So I was a bit angry, so I called and they said u will get card first week in july. I was shocked but said ok whatever it is what it is. Well I call today to see if it was sent.. they claim I had to qualify first to get it. I was like what??????? What do you mean qualify??. So now they say possibly middle of August ... So after going back and forth and the customer service rep stating it's no loss I leave...I said take your box and your cable and shove it! I cancelled... They lie to get u to move and then lie to have you get the bundle! They are sneaky with hidden charges and fees, as well as a ten dollar late fee if you are a day late. This is the worse internet service company in history. My service was interrupted for an entire week and as a result my children were unable to do remote on Google Classroom/Zoom for that week. I called and they did a troubleshoot which didn't rectify the issues. They told me to go to the nearest store to pick up a new modem and return the old one. I leave work very early to do this. Upon picking up the new modem and return the old one, given the direct number to call optimum to set up the new when when I reached home. I called optimum customer service. The girl who picked up could not connect the modem over the phone and online. She said they have to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to my home to set it up...which was almost a week from the date of the call plus they wanted to charge me for the installation when it wasn't my fault their internet got disconnected. I refused and asked to speak with a supervisor but she hanged up on me. I return the modem the following day to the store and cancelled the service right away. The following day I received an email with receipt of my cancellation and my billing cycle will end on November 18th. After not having internet service for the last week of September they really have the nerve to wanna charge me for October and November which I never received service. I decided to go with optimum service a couple of years ago. I reviewed their online ads and checked into what services they offered. I chose to go with their triple play option. Sometimes your finances and life needs change. I was trying to save money, so first I tried eliminating an extra tv that I was paying for and was not using. The next month when I reviewed my bill it looked as though I didn't save anything. I decided to try a little experiment. I bought a $15 freeway tv antenna and a Roku player. I hooked that up and found I could access tv and other free movies and recorded shows sling, hulu Netflix you name it. the picture and sound are just as good as cable if not better. all you need is a internet connection and wireless network with enough speed and you can access and get more for your money and save half or more than what your paying these companies. I decided to get off the bundle boat. No matter which company you are with the result is always paying a lot of money and really not being happy with what you are getting for what you are spending every month. Well, I cut the chord. As soon as I did Optimum limited my access to my internet service. I can no longer stream through other websites. I cannot even manage the devices that I have enrolled into my optimum account. I called them and let them know that I knew they had done this and it was not right. I am paying them to be my internet provider. They should be providing me access not denying me access. They told me that I have to pay for the basic tv service in order to get access because I don't have it, the system won't let me access. My first question is do they have any customers that have a laptop ,phone or any device that needs internet access. Do they make them buy a tv package to get their service? I have checked their website several times and I can't find anything that tells the customer that there are restrictions to the services . I have never signed any contract or agreement. It's like they are holding my account hostage until I pay up! Instead of their motto "let's connect more" it should be "let's collect more". We have been forced to use them for over 20 years and it is the most miserable experience, poor reception, poor customer service, inability to ever address a question properly the same way twice, exorbitant pricing. I just use the most basic of services I can get away with and have found FIOS to be a much superior alternative (unfortunately FIOS only offers Internet where I live, which is vastly superior to what cablevision delivered.
