A couple of weeks ago I sent an email to Optimum RV in Bushnell, inquiring about a specific unit they had advertised. I got a reply, but it was about another unit. No biggy I thought, just a simple, honest mix-up. I verified the particular unit I was interested in, further calling to speak with someone (actually made two calls and talked to two different salesmen, neither of which followed through on anything I asked about, specific to the unit). All I wanted to know is if there had been smoking in the unit. Both assured me the unit was on the lot, newer, etc., but neither seemed to know anything about it. Even worse, they were not motivated to find out. I was on the road, and decided to make the detour to go and see it, though not receiving a return call. I drove two hours, with gas at a premium, where I found salesmen sitting in the front lobby jawing (no mask though signs everywhere saying I had to have one). A nice female assisted me, taking me to the unit which was parked far out in the lot. I opened the door to find a disgusting unit, reeking of cigarette smoke (sorry smokers, but just not my bag) with evidence of destruction by the previous owner (and it was a fairly new model). I emailed my contact once I got home and told them how disappointed I was. He offered that it was a busy day (sure wasn't when I pulled up), and no one had time to check the unit. I'd told them I was driving a distance, with gas and time at a premium when I called. It would have taken 5 minutes tops, but no one I talked to had, or took the time. Not only would I avoid this dealership for the "service" I got, but to top it off they offered me a sandwich (deli type that was out on a picnic table in front of the dealership in the hot sun). Note it was about 2:30 and an unusually warm day (80's), even for Feb. The cheese on the sandwiches was melted to the platter, with the sandwiches obviously having been there and for some time. One can only assume what the heat was doing to the meat, et al. Incredible experience. Avoid at all costs. read more

I saw an travel trailer on the RV Trader app. Sent an email request with a few questions. Got a response from them, but not the answers. I decide to drive from Riverview Fl. to Ocala (2 hrs approx travel) I texted my contact there that i was on my way, before leaving my house, and he responded ; " The camper looks good, and we have over 1,000 campers available here , I am confident we will find you the one you LOVE !!!" When I arrived , he told me that the trailer has been sold at 9 am. He immediately brought a credit application and asked me how much I was willing to put as a down payment . So all about the trailer that I saw on RV Trader was a hook.... Please be careful with this liars.... I end up driving back home another two hours.... read more

well after reading all these negitive reviews, I'm kicking myself for not reading these before . I bought a brand new toy hauler in feb of 2021 and took delivery in march 2021. I parked it for a few months and took it back in July 2021 for some warranty work.I was contacted in sept 2021 saying all done and ready to pick up. low and behold after doing a walk thru with service tech nothing had been done.also in moving my camper to the front the forklift operator damaged the entire left side of the camper... after being told by the service manager and the district manager all will be taking care of.well as today april 9 2022 I still don't have my camper back they still have it and its still not fixed........ DO NOT BUY OR SELL AN RV HERE! NO STARS HERE! We took our RV here to sell on consignment. After 11 days of sitting in the same location as we left it, they called to see what was going on with our RV and what service it needed. We told them it was there on CONSIGNMENT! After our RV sat there with no activity, we reduced the price which they failed to reflect online. After 90 days, we went to pick it up and was sent to speak to SCUBA STEVE - what a joker he was. He stated that he couldn't believe that they didn't sell it and assured us that they would get it sold so we agreed to let them keep it for an additional 60 days. 60 days later, we sent an email 1 week prior to picking it up stating that we would be there on Oct 31, 2023 to pick it up. We sent an additional email 1 day prior that we were coming the next day. Half way to traveling (1 1/2 hrs) to pick it up, we get a call from Christy stating that the slider doesn't work and not to come for another day. We said we are coming anyway! We get there and they cannot find the 3 sets of additional keys, the registration/insurance cards, the tires are very low, and the tablet necessary to operate the slide out/automatic functions of the RV is missing. They finally find the key sets and registration/insurance cards. We requested something in writing for the missing tablet and was assured that they would send an email stating such. While filling up the low tire we get a call from Christy saying that she didn't feel comfortable sending anything in writing for the missing tablet. There have been at least 2 re-organizations just during the 6 months of dealing with them. There is no communication among employees This place is a shit show! read more

We called Optimum RV Ocala Sunday, January 28, 2024, and spoke with a man by the name of David who said he was the floor manager with regards to an issue we had with our finance contract. He explained that there was nobody in on Sunday who would be able to assist us and told us to call back on Monday when the finance manager is in. We then had to call back later the same day as we had another issue with our new camper draining our truck's battery and spoke with Cody a "sales manager". Cody was rude, condescending, and completely arrogant!!!! He spoke on top of my husband's voice and treated us with no respect. His approach was completely wrong. He should have listened instead of wanting to hear his own voice.... My husband was trying to explain the issues to Cody, but he kept on speaking over my husband making us even more aggravated. He was not allowing us to completely explain the issue with the battery and the finance contract. Instead, he kept telling us "Your truck has a bad battery that needs to be replaced", "Your truck is old and every 3 years you need to replace your battery ", "you signed the finance papers it is your responsibility', "Did you not read the paperwork before signing?" and "you took the camper off the lot and it's no longer our issue". Cody is completely unprofessional and has no communication skills and to have the title sales manager is an absolute disgrace!!! read more

I would have chosen zero stars if I could. We spoke to 3 different sales people and set up a VIP appointment. We drove 2 1/2 hours and 30 minutes before our appointment the salesman called me and I told him we would be there in 30 minutes and we talked about the unit we wanted to purchase and everything was still a go. I even asked the day before if they needed a deposit and was told no. When we arrived for our appt, they showed us the camper and we went in to write it up and was then told, "the unit was sold". Really? But they had more expensive ones if we wanted to look at them. The most unbelievable company I have ever dealt with. What a waste of time! This place is great till you sign the dotted line. We brought our camper in to have a few things repaired. When we finally went to pick it up not only was a few things not fixed but the service team forgot to put our capture plate back on our 5th wheel. Now we had no idea it had been removed after we dropped it off. So they back us up to it hook us up and send us on our way. We get 4 miles down the road when it felt like we was rear ended at a traffic light. The trailer had slid all the way back and ruined out tailgate on our new 2019 2500 Chevy. We slowly pulled off the road into a parking lot and called the RV place. They repeatedly said they have so service team to help us. We could not unhook our trailer because all the batteries where dead. We sat in the parking lot for a hour and a half. Before a gentle man hooked up to our batteries and helped us unhook so we could place the capture plate back on. They refuse to call us back or answer our phone calls. They are responsible for the damage to our truck. I would never buy nor bring my RV back to this place ever again. I think this place sucks. The service Manager Paul has yet to call us back . What ever you do Never buy or have anything serviced at this place. I would have gave this place a zero star rating if that was a option. read more

Well day 2 waiting on an email and call back on a trailer.It was under priced when I looked at it . Asked for written quote for trailer plus repairs . I was verbally told 5-$6000 on top of purchase price. I was promised , shook hands that I would have it in 5 hrs , 48 hrs still waiting. If anyone is going here to buy an rv or to work just know the management may get angry at you if it's 9am and you have a question. I was contacted by one of their employees in indeed as a candidate for a job here and I thought I'd check them out. I pulled them up on google maps and they're a 36 minute commute from my house. I submitted my resume that they requested and I figured I should also give them a call to ask two questions. 1. About the pay, I never worked at a dealerships so when it comes to pay I wanted to know if theres a retainer and from what I read not every dealership does this the same. And 2. How long does it take for a new associate with no experience to sell an RV. Y'all that man said to me it's 9am, he interrupted me midway of asking that question and said he'd set up a time for a phone interview but never asked me what time I'm available which is sus. Being interrupted is rude, stating it's 9am after a simple question and rushing me off the phone instead of answering really shows me that I wouldn't be able to count on them if I had worked there. God forbid I have a question during operating hours for a job that they posted online. They ought to expect people to call with inquiries before making the commute there, this is ocala where everything is pretty far. I purchased a new camper from OprimumRV in mid-2019. Since then I have experienced poor service assistance and very poor communication with the service staff. I have elevated my concerns on two separate occasions, withThis tells me the management staff is as poorly run as the service advisors. My last experience was absolutely astonishing. They must have tried to screw up. They had my camper for almost two weeks to make a simple repair to a tongue jack (warranty work). It's impossible to get any information from them and they DO NOT stand behind the products they sell. Agree with all the other reviews. AVOID at all costs. We have had our brand new rv back several times to fix things that should have never left the lot. Its STILL not fixed. We drove from Jacksonville and would potentially be repeat customers but not a chance now. We will pay a little more but KNOW we will be taken care of. PSA - If you're looking for a camper, DONT go to Optimum RV in Ocala . My husband and I were looking for a fifth wheel or travel trailer with a bunkhouse under $30,000. We came across a 2009 wildcat fifth wheel for only $18,000 at the Bushnell optimum RV, so I called and asked about it and they said it had sold the day before. No big deal. I get on Ocala's website and see they have WAY more inventory than the Bushnell location, so we made the 45 minute drive out there with a list of 7 trailers from their website we would like to see, all in our price range with everything we want. Well, go figure 6 out of 7 trailers we're 'sold yesterday'. Our sales man (James) took us to go find the 1 that was NOT sold and it's no where to be found after 30 + minutes of riding around looking for it. We go back, and he's told it's off the premises and they don't know why but it's not sold . Weird but ok? So of course James takes us back to the office, he searches the website for more trailers to go look at, but when we get out there we love all of these trailers ... we ask the price, he doesn't know. So we get back to the office again, and they're all way above our budget. So, we leave (I had to go to work) and we continue looking on the website, but I remembered seeing a wildcat on the lot while riding around that looked just like the wildcat from Bushnell, so I call James and ask him to see if it's the same one, he says yes, It's the same one ! You can come to my office now and we will get the paperwork going to make it yours! So I pick my son up from school early, tell my husband to leave work and pick up our daughter from school to meet me there. I show up and sit at his desk, he tells me "That one is in Bushnell it's not here?" I said you just told me it was here ! And then he changes the story and says it got sold in the 40 minutes it took me to get there . BULLS*** ! I was so angry! I wanted to walk out right then and there but they already did an inquiry on our credit so I stuck it out and waited to see what he had to say. He wanted to take us to look at MORE TRAILERS ! So my husband agreed, we went and looked at all of these trailers and they were all garbage, missing furniture or torn up furniture, missing the features we wanted and all. BUT, we were so tired and defeated my husband said we would take one of the ones that we looked at, it needed work but it would work for basic camping. We gave them a cash deposit or hold on the trailer so they didn't sell it from under us, ended up finding a better trailer for the money we were already spending, so we transferred our deposit to the other trailer. My husband called our salesman the next day to see if he had heard anything, nope he will call us back by the end of the day. Never called back, so my husband called the next day and still didn't get an answer so the next day he asked for a manager instead . The manger told him he would be handling our case from here on out, BUT a week later and STILL no response from ANYONE at this dealership. So, my husband went this morning to pick up our Deposit to take our business elsewhere and he wouldn't even come out to give my husband the money, he told the receptionist he didn't want to, so she needed to. He didn't even want to know why he was loosing business or why we were unhappy. SAVE YOUR TIME DONT WORK WITH THIS DEALERSHIP! We moved recently to the area, and we live only a few miles away from their Ocala location. We needed temporary housing and decided on an RV. Made an appointment to meet with salesman Tom, but we arrived 30 minutes later and we were handed off to salesperson Debbie. We told her our budget, and she rode us out to look at an RV that looked great and for the right price. We looked at a couple more, but told her to give us numbers on the first one we saw. She disappeared, then came back and GUESS WHAT?... it was sold the day before (same as described by other people who visited this place). Can you spell BAIT & SWITCH?! She told me about several others. We rode out to see them, they were in worse condition and of course more money. When she asked if we were financing, we said we weren't sure. Her reply, "Well cash isn't king anymore." She said they could offer financing, with no prepayment penalty if 7 payments were made. Do you think they're getting a kickback from the finance companies? Bottom line we walked out, luckily since I read these reviews after the fact. And guess what? That same "sold" RV, is still up for sale. Went to purchase a travel trailer. Asked to see used under $30k, was shown new in stock $39k and up. Decided to purchase a new travel trailer. Was told by finance when signing paperwork that paystubs were required for income verification. Once received Fifth Third Bank of BOA would be loan provider. Monday morning and afternoon I was still receiving credit inquiries from all three credit agencies. Called to question and was told that it was sent over to a different bank and just had to submit paystubs. When stated that this was not what was disgust the day prior, the finance personnel became very rude and condescending. Proceeded to explain that "usually when you buy a rv you have to run credit, that's how it works". Waited 20 minutes for a sales person. Finally, one show up and when I inquired about two RV's, he said he really didn't know much about them and tried to talk me into a 5th wheel. Um. No. When I said I wanted a diesel with a minimum of a 360 HP engine he said he thought I should look at the "Phantom". Um, yeah - it's a PHAETON. He said he thought it was made by Thor. Let's try TIFFIN. It's made by TIFFIN. He couldn't get the slides to open, he couldn't tell me anything about it. It smelled like it had water damage and his answer was that it was humid today and they all smell like that. He also thought since I was a woman, I shouldn't think about driving something so big. The Dealership in Ocala are CROOKS!!!! They had my parents put down a Good Faith deposit of $5,000 for a fifth wheel contingent on a walk through. When they went and done the walk through they had damaged the fifth wheel removed items and didn't have anything to say besides begging that they wanted the chance to find them a new one with in the price range. No return call for days and then when going back for their deposit sense no fifth wheel was purchased they refused stating it was non refundable. This location takes advantage of older adults! OptimumRV Bushnell- Worst experience buying an RV that I've ever had. Was in touch with the sales rep from Optimum Bushnell for about 1 month waiting on a specific RV to come in. Sales man calls me and says they have the rv at the Ocala dealer and can have it brought over. So We negotiated for 2 days then settled on a price. My wife and I got home from work, pick our kids up early from school and cleaned out our camper to go trade it in. We hit the road for 1.5 hours to go get our NEW CAMPER, YAY! The salesman called me trying to run my credit over the phone to save time but I told him I wanted to do it in person and see the new rv first. He said ok and the rv is getting prepped and ready for us to take ownership. Then As I literally turn into the dealer the salesman calls me and says they just sold the camper from under us to someone at the Ocala dealership for more money. As I walked inside to speak our frustrations to the general manager and let him know how wrong and unethical this is he stands up looks at me and says in an aggressive tone "is this the guy". I said yes I am how could you do this to us and all he has to say is that's how we do business here. So as our frustration runs higher the GM starts to raise his voice and becomes aggressive with my wife. I stepped in because nobody should ever speak like that to a woman let alone my wife and he tells us to get out of his office and that he is calling the cops. He does this in front of our children so now they are crying thinking we are going to jail. We couldn't believe that this happened and are beyond shocked. Please avoid doing business with Optimum RV in Ocala unless you enjoy dealing with lying and deceitful people. My wife and I went to Optimum RV and made a deal on a Venture Sporttrek Touring travel trailer and elected to pay cash but we didn't have a vehicle that would tow it or a lot to park it on yet. We gave them a debit card for the deposit and they did all the paperwork and told us we had 30 days to bring the balance and pick up the trailer and went looking for a place to park the trailer and found a lot in Palm Harbor to park it. When we called Gabe our salesman to arrange pick up he said he would have the delivery dept call us to make arrangements but then called back 3 days later and said they had sold our trailer to someone else . when I asked why they would do that they said they had the right to do that even though they completed all of the documents to transfer title to us because they never charged my card for the deposit. We asked Gabe why they would sell to someone else without even calling us and the only answer was they had the right to do that. That is not a good way to do business and now because of their deceitful business practices we have lot to park our travel trailer but no trailer. read more

We bought a 5 year old RV from them and when my husband went to pick it up a week later they hadn't cleaned it, filthy & stunk like sewer, 2 BALD tires & a broken wire to the brakes. We had NO Brakes and about got killed had our truck not been so jazzed up with super brakes & suspension we would of jack knifed right off the road. This place is dirty, no one will wear a mask and keep a distance all my husband wanted was to get out of the office, property & away from the people standing on top of him. NO Social Distance NO Mask wearing and complete lack of consideration for customer service. There are so many more RV sales places in Marion county & I am sad that being handicapped I had to limit my ability to go shopping & had to choose at this place. I feel sorry for people who buy here. Complete scam artists. We are serious buyers with serious money. But we are educated buyers. We have hard quotes from other dealers for the exact same model comparing apples to apples. They were $30k more than our highest quote (36% higher) not to mention adding their separate fees which added up to $3600.00 on top of the 30k scam. Came back the next day with money to pay and close out deal and they switched the deal on us - added over 5k to the price after we had already signed and agreed on a price. They were all super nice until this point and then became incredibly rude and unprofessional. I'll gladly take my money elsewhere to someplace more honest and reputable. If I could give a negative Star rating I would! These people are horrible! They sold my brother in law a brand new 50k camper ...brand new! They also convinced him to buy an expensive warranty policy.Long story short within a few days of having the camper and the first rain it began to leak water from the slide out in the living room, Optimum told him he needed to pay 350$ and have the warranty address the issue...are you serious? This is a brand new camper! Finally after days of calls and complaints and requests to speak to the manager who still hasn't cleared back, they sent someone to look at it twice and they "found nothing" but camper continued to leak! Called again and no resolution, again referred to warranty company. Call made to manufacter of the camper and they did send someone but warned if it was found to be his fault he would be charged ..ok. Service tech from manufacter comes out after now 4 weeks of having the camper and multiple rain showers ...its florida and rains everyday he was told the manufacturer had not put the slide in correctly and it would have to be returned to Optimum so they could remove the slide and repair, I'm guessing no seals were put in slide this Heartland Prowler! Problem is this is his primary home, what is he supposed to do for a home for a week while they fix it?? Now the ceiling is buckling!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Horrible customer service, no accountability on the part of the RV dealer or the manufacturer for that matter! Time for a lawyer! Over the BS and the run around! This should not happen with a brand new 40k camper...they should be breaking neck to fix it free of charge at his convenience ASAP! BUYER BEWARE. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. They sold my sister an RV in deplorable condition--think ROACHES, spiders, an UNEMPTIED BLACK WATER TANK, a dead fridge that smells like something died in it--and this is after waiting a week while they supposedly inspected it and cleaned it at her expense. The battery DIED 30 MINS AFTER DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT. They assured her they would find someone in her area to fix the RV's faulty breaker (why didn't this come up during inspection??) to shut her up and get her to drive hundreds of miles away knowing full well they sold her an older RV that many places do not service. This place is a total joke. I drove 3hours from naples florida to look at a motor home they said was good. I get here and both they show me have mold and water damage and smelt like death. Not sure how this place stays in business when they dont do a daily check of the merchandise they want to sell. I wouldn't recommend coming here to buy anything. Its in the woods and a dirt lot. I have mixed feelings about Optimum RV. My boyfriend was the original shopper wanting to trade his toy hauler for a Class C or affordable Class A. He was dealing with an elderly salesperson named Matt in Ocala. We drove 4 hours from West Palm to meet with him. We really liked Matt and spent most of the day with no pressure looking at campers in my boyfriends price range. Due to financial numbers and terms they were unable to make a deal that day but continued to call each other with different campers that came up. Meanwhile I myself had a pop up and went camping with my Grandson and decided it was to much work to set up and take down on my own and began looking for a truck camper that was going to still be small and easy to manage. I found one at Optimum RV in Bushnell and began working with a salesperson named Phil. He told me the unit was sold but would keep an eye open for one because in Florida they are a rare find. ( he was right about that) He called me a few weeks later and informed me that the sale fell through and we discussed a trade in for my pop up and terms on the truck camper he had. We scheduled a meeting for the first Saturday after our conversation and I towed my pop up 4 hours to that location with my boyfriend. Once we got their we realized that it would not work for my 8ft bed. It was designed for 6 but could be modified, which I did not feel safe. My boyfriend brought up a Class C that he had been trying to get information on at the Ocala location but his salesperson Matt has been slow at getting back to him the past few weeks and he lost out on a few good deals due to the lack of time it took Matt to get back to him not realizing Matt was part time. Well MY salesperson Phil called his contact Mike at the Ocala location and we drove an hour further to see this Class C that was supposed to be running when we got there. 95 percent of their RVs have dead batteries and you can't start any of them. So we drive up to Ocala from Bushnell to seen this Class C. We were so excited to see it pulling into the parking lot as we were. As I got out of my truck the salesperson hit a parked truck in the parking lot and tore the bumper of the camper right in front of our eyes. We noticed a lady sitting at the table and inquired who she was. Turns out she was a customer and jumped out rudely to me that she's writing a check and taking that one. WOW...so the unit we just drove an hour further to see they sold as we pulled in the parking lot. Mike who my salesperson Phil sent us to see went ahead and showed us different units while we were there. He was great and patient with us. He even called for a jump box so we can really check a few units out. Now here is where it gets uncomfortable, Matt spots us at the crash site and starts blowing my boyfriends phone up. I explained to Matt over the phone that my boyfriend is not the customer, I am and im looking for me and was sent by my salesperson Phil from Bushnell. Matt actually drove his golf cart ovrr to us and began an argument with our salesperson Mike in front of us making my boyfriend uncomfortable as hell. It was getting late and the unit we decided on was a bit out of our comfort zone so we decided to get a hotel and buy clothes and come back in the morning. Once again Mike took us all day until we finally found one that was\IS comfortable to me. We began paperwork and left knowing our salesperson was going on vacation the following week and I have to say that beyond him the place really was extremely stressful. No one is organized or explains the next process. We were having an awning installed and could not get confirmation if it was done or pick up days or times. No one will answer your calls nor schedule ANYTHING. I didn't actually know if I was wasting a trip on pick up on the day I was told because service NEVER called me and finance never would speak to me when I called. Once we picked up the RV we forgot my tag on the pop up which was promised to be overnighted to me from the service manager and he never did it. I had to ask Phil to send it to me, which he did with no hesitation. I was shocked they made my payoffs on my trades so fast.. Gotta give them that !!! Overall I got an amazing camper but went through Hell to get it. I'm now shopping for a camper for my Mom and Phil from Bushnell don't have anything that small for her to tow and wants to send me to Ocala. The thought of that is awful. I didn't even get to hit the dong after my deal lol. I complained about my experience when I picked up my camper but no one cared. Didn't even give me a t-shirt or cup for my aggravation lol. Any time I've ever made a big purchase they dealer usually gives you a little thank you gift. Hell when I got my pop up they gave me a coffee mug. End of my rant... can't say my experience was good or bad, just stressful. It was all worth it in the end, been camping in my yard all week. read more

Horrible experience, let's start with the receptionist Kayla. Extremely rude when I requested to speak to the sales manager which whom I was dealing w/ in regards to purchasing an RV, take it back a few days I was dealing with Cody, then I spoke to Will, then Connor, then Dominique, holy crap get it together guys. Although they created a file for me I still had to start from scratch explaining my wants and needs for an RV. All nice guys but they very disorganized. I'm trying to give them money and they are giving me a hard time, I can't imagine how things will be when I need maintenance done. read more

As soon as I drove into the Ocala location, I could tell this was a shady outfit. they have a huge inventory. However, one can tell the operation is quite concerning. the sales KID that helped was nice enough and was trying very hard. Maybe too hard. all their offices are set up in trailers. Their used lot looked like a junk yard. They would not stop calling me once I got away. I can't believe anyone would ever consider doing business with this company. Went in yesterday for scheduled appointment to have some extended warranty issues fix. This is our second time coming here for repairs and have been pleased with the service both times. Where should I start? They wrecked 4 Rvs while I was there including mine a brand new 2021 Columbus 1492. The day I was to pick it up I received a call from the service manager saying they had found some bubbling in the paint, so I decided to go and see. Too my shock the whole passenger rear was crashed and the front drivers side was banged up! They refused to give me any paperwork stating the damage I was told they work on trust....lol, I finally got the Rv home to find 5 kittens sealed up in the bottom of the unit. Ive left probably 20 plus messages and spoke with so called people in charge and nothing, the only good person who works there is our salesmen Bob, I have several pictures that I will be posting very soon. read more

I purchased a MH from them 2 years ago. The sale was well done and friendly. However, I have tried to get in for service after two years with a valid warranty that they sold me and I can't even get a call back! All they want to do is sell, I am not a happy camper!
