Stopped here once to drop off my modem and the line was out the door. I live nearby so I stopped by the next day instead to drop off my modem. There were three employees working who were friendly. And there was no line. I was in and out in under a minute and the service was speedy. There was seating inside, as well as TVs. But I didn't have to wait so I didn't use these amenities. I'd recommend this location. read more

Optimum - Internet Service Providers Near Me - Mamaroneck, New York

Biggest scam in the world. Have been a paying customer for 5 years, moving out on the 31st and billing cycle starts 8 days before my move out. Policies do not allow shifts, and I am paying a whole month of overpriced, unreliable service for 8 days to be able to work from home before I move out. Use Verizon, starlink, Tmobile; I don't know just not optimum - they may similar policies but at least their services are better you don't lose internet or tv consistently. If cancelling wasn't a process in itself I would've done so long ago. On top of this - they have their hardworking staff pitch new services after outlining how wild their policies are. I started laughing. "our policies are horrible, our services are horrible, you are clearly unhappy and I can't do anything about it - but hey, are you interested in our $25/mo. Cell phone plan???" I cackled. Maybe the comedic relief gets people to bite. Overpriced, bad policy, not customer first at all, I would rather craft an antenna and use RF frequencies I pick up from my microwave before ever considering them again. Simply do better optimum corporate. After paying $11,000 over 5+ years for subpar services you just lost a customer for life over $120 because a policy would not allow to pro-rate a service that will likely be unavailable for 4 of the 8 days anyway. read more

Why will no one at Optimum allow me to disconnect tv and internet? When I call they send me to Retention, but no promotion can keep me as Verizon is already installed and working well. I have spent at least 8 hours over several days trying to get a response from Optimum. As you see, I wrote the same thing on Yelp 2 days ago. Still no action from Optimum. NOW IT'S 2 DAYS LATER, AND 4 DAYS AFTER MY FIRST YELP REVIEW. I HAVE WRITTEN TO THE EMAIL SUGGESTED YET NO ONE CONTACTS ME TO ADDRESS MY DISCONNECT REQUEST. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Optimum has delivered, hands down, the worst customer service experience I've had in over 30 years of dealing with any utility or service provider. After finding a better rate and superior service with Verizon, I called to cancel--only to be subjected to what can best be described as a corporate gauntlet of harassment disguised as "retention." The so-called "retention specialist" I was transferred to was aggressive, dismissive, and completely uninterested in listening. Instead of assisting, they pressured me with scripted nonsense. And when I didn't immediately agree to stay? I was transferred to yet another professional harasser at "Level 2," who somehow managed to be even more combative and clueless. This wasn't just a bad rep. This was policy. It was clear they were reading from a rehearsed playbook designed to exhaust and frustrate customers into submission. I was passed from department to department for nearly an hour, treated as though I were behind on payments (I wasn't), and spoken to in a tone more fitting for a debt collector than a customer service representative. Optimum doesn't earn loyalty--they grind it out of you through attrition. It's not just bad service--it's an infuriating, humiliating experience that makes you question how this company is still in business. Their rudeness is only eclipsed by their incompetence. Even if Optimum were free, I wouldn't go back. And I will actively discourage every friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, and stranger in line at the grocery store from ever giving them their business. They do not deserve it. Period. read more

If I could rate this company a zero, I would. Just spent my third month in a row in a chat/telephone call with Optimum. They just can't get the billing it right. Was on chat with Sara for over an hour and she still didn't fix/explain the overcharge. I know a lot of people do not have choices for cable providers but will be researching my cellular options. 99% reliable or not. read more

Company aside, I went into this store to return my equipment, had to pay $85 dollars for a $15 dollar Wifi extender. I had them confirm how much I owed, was told $0.00 Get an email from Optimum that I owed money, called to find out that "I was given wrong information". Apparently the payment for extender went towards my next months bill, even though I cancelled my service before the new cycle. So where did the money for the actual extender go? read more

It's not Mamaroneck, it's the main center that you call to cancel. After being a customer over 10 years, they kept me on the phone for over 30 minutes to cancel, offering all kinds of made up offers, and in the end, still made me pay til the end of the billing cycle which is 15 days from now. So basically, they are trying to get every bit of money from me that they can. This is not good business. It's not right to pay for service you are not using for 15 days. They could have prorated it. Very unsatisfied! read more

What an awful company, as a whole. Unreliable onsite service, and outsourced labor in India, Philippines etc. due to this there is no vested interest in the customers or the company. We had been waiting like idiots for 5 weeks to connect service. They came today to install and we found out the TAP in the pole is bad and needs to be replaced. They said we need to wait another 1-2 weeks for that, they would not accommodate same day service. We have now cancelled service and are moving to Verizon. Will likely move our other 4 properties to verizon, just to avoid their horrid service. read more

STAY AWAY FROM OPTIMUM Unfortunately, they have a near monopoly in the Bronx. Verizon FIOS is not in my building, and so Optimum is my only choice. I literally cancelled services to reduce my bill, and apparently got a one-month reduction, what I would actually be billed every month was never made clear to me, they are not transparent with their costs. After hanging on for more than a half an hour in the online chat, it finally turns out my new bill will be $58 MORE than the bill I was trying to lower. It is impossible to get a human person on the phone and all they do is give you a bunch of mumbo jumbo and give you the runaround. They are the worst. If I could give 0 stars, I would. read more

Drove 25 minutes to return my cable box and the office was closed for lunch. Now I have to either sit in my car until they return in another 45 minutes or find the time to come back another day. Very unprofessional & disappointing, wish I could give zero stars. read more

I'm not totally thrilled with the company, but this retail location is good. The person I worked with was friendly and knowledgeable, they explained my options and got me in and out in just a few minutes. If you do have to deal with Optimum, this was a better experience than dealing with them online or over the phone. read more

The worst cable company ever. I know now why i disconnected my service. You could never speak to a supervisor when requesting one but the minute i disconnected my service the transferred me to one to keep my business. Too late. I called 2 days ago for a shipping label and as promised it would take 48 hours to receive a simple email and of course i knew i wouldn't receive cause they don't care and that's ok I'll just mail and pay myself. I was a customer for a decade and they still didn't care. I love FiOS. More channels better internet service. Stay away from Optimum one hand doesn't know what the other hand does. If you get a response after you review their service, it's probably the automated system cause it isn't a real person read more

Horrible company!! For years I was a loyal customer, but had to ask for service to be disconnected as I was moving out of the area. I disconnected the service in end of January and was told I have 30d to return equipment. I went to the Mamaroneck store Feb8 and return the equipment. I asked if there were outstanding charges so that I could pay it there and I was told the account had been paid off until end of next cycle already via automatic deduction. In April I get a notification from a collection agency saying that I owe $139. I called Optimum several times. The first time, the agent told me that it was for equipment not returned. When I said I had a receipt for return of equipment he said he had to investigate with a supervisor. While I was on hold I was disconnected. When I called back, I was informed their system was down and to call back in an hour. When I called back, I was informed their system was being upgraded and to call back in 2h and that they were available to answer my call 24/7. When I call back customer service was closed! I called again 2d later, on my day off, and was told it was NOT for no return of equipment, but for non payment of the Feb billing cycle. Since my acct was closed, of course I never got a bill via email or snailmail, but I was sent for COLLECTION instead. The agent also informed me they had NO WAY of sending me a copy of that bill so that I can pay. I pay via collection agency or go - AGAIN - to an Optimum store. My time is not worth anything. Their store agent told me my bill was paid off. Then they send me for collection and tell me I have to go back to their store to solve the situation. Not even an apology for their inability to send me a bill so that I know. Had to find out through the humiliating experience of being sent for collection. Not to mention, each agent that I had spoken to before told me a different thing. They cannot get their act together and the customer has to spend hours calling and going to their store besides being humiliated. Not zero star - they deserve NEGATIVE STARS. read more

Customer service is unable to resolve or escalate requests. My average wait time typically runs over 60mins and accomplishes nothing. The last interaction with Optimum was a number transfer to a new address. It took 4 months for them to initiate the request. If I could give a poop imoji instead of a star I would. read more

Is there not a minus star rating? some are better than others ... but rude obnoxious and unaccommodating is one woman in particular ... if you have a problem or issue ... They can't fix it... they messed up my installation ... charged me a premium for extra installation of My WiFi devices ... said they do t know how to install them and I need to go to UTube and do it myself ... then they left my place a mess with cords sticking out in the floor and then I was charged another $80 for them to come back and clean it up ... all efforts to credit my bill have been ignored ... now I have to go to the NY Utility Cain mission and FCC to fix what Optimum can't fix read more

Went here for a router drop off. Very friendly team, quick service, easy process. Overall time in and out was under 5 mins.

The lines are shorter than they were on some days, but the service sucks the employees here say I'm not authorized to pickup a router when my mom was told that I was able to be sent here but they didn't want to hear the phone call from my mom and they were very rude to me and I don't recommend this place this place has very poor service the people that send their kids that are able to drive to here get the poor service and even the actual member too. I'm very disgusted with the service here and it's not good. read more

I've been a top tier customer with Optimum for years. I live in Co-op City. At times we've paid our bill late, but when you pay it the service comes back within a few minutes. 30 tops. Now I'm being told it will be on between 24 to 48 hours. During a pandemic?! Where everything is online including work? Their customer service is horrendous. Ask to speak to a supervisor? Good luck. If they don't ask their friends to pretend they are the supervisor you'll get a song and dance as to how only they know the information and no one else in the company can help you. Co-op City is being held hostage by this company. Its time for a change. Even a dish would be better than this at this point. During our next director's meeting I will ask to change this monopoly. I have nothing but time on my hands. Yet something else that needs changing our lives. Decent customer service. read more

Worst ever I had optimum in my new home for maybe 2 months!!! And I'm on the freaking phone with them every single night they are the worst I don't recommend them to anyone read more

I have had cable TV and Internet service since the '90s and have never had a worse experience than with this provider! I am paying more than I have elsewhere, getting fewer channels, and my Internet goes off at least once a day and I have to reboot my system. I am paying for 1 gig and have worse Internet service than I did at 300 elsewhere. I wanted to downgrade because I do not need 1 gig and it is very expensive. I was told that if I do so my bill will go up because I am on a "promotion." A ripoff company! read more

I have never in my life experienced worse customer service. They actually admit new boxes have many problems but continue to install them without telling you. Then will not send you the Samsung boxes nor come on a weekend so you must go to store direct. Half my channels that I pay for don't work but I don't get refunded. Stay away, stay far away. read more

Another terrible experience with Optimum today. I spoke with Tamara and Carrie. Tamara had no idea how her system worked she promised she would send and email and after 20 minutes the call disconnected and NO EMAIL RECVD. Then Carrie says Tamara could not send me an email because it needs to be generated from their system. So I ask why did my call disconnect and she said the calls are programed to disconnect after 20 minutes. THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL AND AFTER 30 YEARS I WILL BE MOVING TO A NEW PROVIDER. ONE THAT CARES ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS BECAUSE IT IS OBVIOUS OPTIMUM DOES NOT. read more

This company are worse than the mafia, try using them for anything other than their premium service packages and they "de-prioritise" you service. I recently switched to direct tv now streaming service and got rid of the $10 per month modem fee, and low and behold, even though I purchased a super high speed modem and router from Motorola the service speed to my address suddenly got slower, co-incidence.... maybe the courts need to decide, I am done with this shoddy service read more

So I made my appointment for 2/26/21 The installer shows up in the time frame installs my cable lines after drilling 2 holes in my house for one cable line. Zip ties his new wire to all the old wires .hooks up my two tvs. 230pm says I'm going for lunch ill be back. Never to return. My TV, phone ,and internet are not working. Takes the paperwork with him. Thanks alot. read more

I can't even give them a 1/2 a star. The worst most incompetent and inconsiderate company I have ever, ever come across. I was put on a one week waiting list to even get an installation time. Then I sit home all day waiting for these inconsiderate morons to show up and nothing. Not only didn't they show up they never even called to say they weren't coming. We sat home for hours waiting after waiting an entire week and these jerks didn't even have the common curiosity to call us to say we can't make it. Then you would think you would get an apology. You would think they would schedule you the next day, nope, another weeks wait. Now it's going to be two weeks without service. Now my kids have to miss not one, but two weeks of online classes. Piturbed is putting it mildly. Supposedly a supervisor is calling in 30 minutes yet 6 hours have gone by and nothing, no, they're not calling. Stay far, far away from this horror show. Chose any provider but this one. read more

Horrible customer service, ever worse when you try to cancel due to jacked up pricing. Internet is not what they advertise. Originally i signed up for the altice one but had so many problems they finally gave me an old box. The service is subpar and I could have dealt with it for longer if they weren't so rude on the phone. They were rude to me on multiple call ins and kept me on the phone chasing my tail when attempting to cancel. The final straw is when my girlfriend called on our behalf and they were rude to her as well. The next day I dumped their equipment into a box and dropped that crap off in mamaroneck where they could not email me a receipt. They yet again insulted me stating it's prob in my junk mail lol I grew up with technology, I know how to filter email a**hole. They finally gave me a print out because I refused to leave without one. read more

ITS A NIGHTMARE!!!! We had Verizon and moved to New Rochelle and were forced to have Optimum because Fios doesn't service our area.. We have had to call for Technical support at least a dozen times!!!! Its bad enough we are getting ROBBED with the rates but service is HORRENDOUS!!!!! Every time I turn it on I say "Let's see what issues I will have today". read more

Cable companies have now raised their status to the number one SCUM of the earth. They are the only institutions that refuse to help their customers during this moment of crisis. They refuse to downgrade customer plans in order to make it more comfortable for people to pay their bills. On the contrary, their only focus when you call is to get you to upgrade so they can make more money. Worst of all is their continuous harassing phone calls to customers that have had to make a choice between putting food on the table to feed their children or paying their bills has increased two fold. When we get back to some sense of normalcy the first thing we should all do is get rid of these vultures. Especially-OPTIMUM, read more

Optimum is every textbook example of poor customer service. In the middle of the pandemic when we are all working from home my service has been down for 8 days. I have literally tried to contact them via phone, email, website, twitter over 100x. Zero responses. I finally cornered one rare worker in a truck to try to get information, he told me service would be fixed shortly. I've never seen anyone again and OF COURSE - there is no service. I am definitely reporting them to the NY Utilities Commission, BBB, etc. The worst. I cannot wait to switch away from them. read more

I have gone from an unhappy new customer to an irate new customer. I received the equipment in mid-June and started using the service one week ago when I moved into my new apartment. I should not have had to literally make about 15 phone calls for problems with the service and the remotes. Moving is stressful enough. Today I had a service appointment for between 2 and 5 pm. Not only did nobody show up but nobody communicated with me in any way, shape or form to let me know what was happening. I was able to sign into my account to see that they changed the appointment to 7:25. Again, nobody showed up and there was zero communication. They changed the appointment, unbeknownst to me one last time to 8:53 but wait, there's more...after being inconvenienced for much of the day into the late evening, they CANCELLED the appointment. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional! I will be exploring other options. That is no way to treat and retain a brand new customer or any customer for that matter! read more

There is outage again! This happens a lot!!!This is the worst internet provider! Also the basic cable channels are crappy!!! Be warned.

The worst service in the world pay almost 300 a month for 4 boxes that malfunction all the time you have to call 10;times for them to schedule an appointment that they do not show up for 50 percent of the time. If there was ever a company that did not care it is then if there was a rating les then zero I would give it. read more

0 stars. We recently moved to Greenwich and Optimum cable has been horrible. We paid extra for high speed internet and have nearly no service in half of our small, 2000 SF house. I have wasted countless hours waiting on the phone for Optimum, trying to use their messaging service, and waiting for their technician to come and check our service. They were a no show at yesterday's appointment, and I have spent the past hour trying to get in touch with someone. we will be switching to Verizon. read more

I have been an OPTIMUM customer for over 20 + years. During that time, they have manipulated me and the services I have received, was hacked, kept billing me even though I was paid in full. Even after I wrote a letter to the company, nothing has been done. They have horrible customer service, poor communication, and even the supervisors are incompetent. I finally it the service because my new service was great at working through things and not playing the blame game. Optimum still owes me money for something and yet as I said earlier, I received another bill. This isn't the first time I've had a problem with them-it's like the millionBuyer beware, never use this incompetent company. read more

This is the worst service and customer service company I have ever dialed with. I have been complaining about one of my box recording machines for months, and when I call to request a service to come to my house to check it they just reset the stupid thing and yes it goes to work again only to stop working within a couple of hours. WTF I'm paying for something I can't even use and I'm supposed to call and spend over 20 minutes talking to a recording machine and have it resent every time I want to watch a recorded show? F NO. I'm so tired and I'm just about to cut cable all together. It is ridiculous to pay over $200.00 a month for a service that is not even there to begin with. read more

Thia company service is awful. Lots of time the internet didn't connect well. Also it was hard to connect to customer service. And if you want to cancel the service, it is just able to do at the end of the month. Even though you want to disconnect it Dec 2nd but you should pay for full month of December. They said it is on the policy so read carefully all the policies on the paper. read more

Noticed that they are now charging an Network Enhancement fee for my internet. This fee is to upgrade their infrastructure. Definitely a scam and shady practice by Cablevision/Optimum online as this should be incorporated into the monthly service plan and not as an additional fee. read more

Service just isn't what it used to be. Who has time to wait home all day for a tech who is miss informed. Repeated service calls to fix same problem which you're charged for! I was a loyal customer for 20 years. When my bill increased another $10 since the last month, I called to get it lowered. I called several times--no luck. They couldn't help me. They told me the only thing I could do was to return my modem for a savings of $10 a month. (My bill was $157 with basic cable, phone, and wonky internet.) So, I got Verizon Fios. When I went to cancel my Optimum service, they wouldn't let me off the phone! Oh, the money saving offers I was giving up! Too little too late, I'm afraid. I'm a Verizon customer now. read more
