Suddenlink, like most cable companies, only survive by being the only one you can have in an area. Other than direct tv. That said, it is ok. If you mail you payment in, they will get it late and charge you $10.00 extra. There is never a time you can get it there on time through the mail. I even tried mailing it the next day, after I received the bill and it didn't work. So a lot of people pay it in person and they close the day after Thanksgiving. Several people wanted to pay. Terrible service. The internet drops and does not run at the speed you pay for. The television freezes and gets pixels and moves slow threw each frame. You call customer service you get someone who reads off a script, has an attitude, wants to rush you off the phone and says nasty comments to you. I cannot wait to get rid of my cable. Unfortunately suddenlink has a monopoly so I can't get rid of my internet. -As soon as they increased their speed options, my internet speed went way down. -I paid my bill on time (I am obsessive about paying bills on time). My bank could see that it was processed before it was due, but Suddenlink did not process it on their end and charge me a late fee. They were not even willing to look at it to see that they were wrong. Horrible service. -cable and Internet go out all the time. Rebooting the modem, etc, takes 15 plus minutes. Would not be a big deal if it were rare. But when it happens regularly, it becomes a problem. (When I have a houseful of people over to watch a game, it's a mess.) -I called the other day because the service was out. In trying to help me, the agents I worked with made the situation worse. -the agent I spoke with the told me to come to Suddenlink to exchange my modem. I came over (on my crutches) and the woman at the store was horrendous. Not helpful, not kind, not informative, the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. I was tempted to cancel all of my services on the spot. -this is my 3rd day without Internet. 4 hours on the phone with suddenlink on numerous phone calls, and I still have no internet. Nobody is able to fix it. And they have not offered me anything and have no solution. My initial review was 2 stars because I was frustrated, but they were trying to help. I started with Suddenlink way back when it was an A+ rated service in my area as Cox Communications. When Suddenlink took over and began offering landline service my service declined as I feared it would given Suddenlink's huge push for that service, which eventually they had to admit was not the bonanza they had hoped for as evidenced by their drop of special "introductory" pricing to a constant price without an increase. However, the freefall once Altice USA took over would have to qualify as some sort of a record. Reviews have become almost universally as low as the rater is allowed to give. The complaints are epic in horror tales of failed service, inability to fix problems, 45 minute waits on telephone support, and reps with little to no knowledge of their products. This stands in stark contrast to past service levels. My Suddenlink security service has been out for over 6 weeks and I have been given no refunds nor any estimate of when the service might be restored despite multiple phone calls and online chats. I was told they are "upgrading" the service, but I was given no notification that it would be down at all, let alonre for weeks on end. read more

Suddenlink is a sick joke. I called with an internet problem that affected TV, computer and phone connection on a Saturday and was told a service tech was not available until Friday to check out the problem. A six day wait? Yep. I was (and still am) on the unlimited data plan with fastest connection and when my household became one single person, I called to change my internet plan to a cheaper one and was told that I used too much data to go down to a cheaper plan???? One single person can not use that much data. My advice - if you are able to use any other internet or cable provider, do it. My only other choice is a dish - can you say Monopoly? read more

If I could rate this company a ZERO, I WOULD. Was told by customer service that I needed a new remote; so, I went to local office (Greenville, NC) & was given one. Was told that it was already programmed for my setup. Long story short, it does not work. Won't even turn on the tv. I spent 45 minutes calling various numbers for help. All numbers had the same recorded options- none of which pertained to my problem. I finally chose "billing" in hopes that I could speak to a LIVE person. This worked BUT the person could not help because the remote I was given was foreign to her! She suggested I take it back. All-in-all I spent 90 minutes & got nowhere. The number for the local office is the same recording as all numbers. No WAY to speak to a live person. The WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. read more

Absolutely infuriating. My husband and I have had service through suddenlunk for almost three years. Since our contract "ended" in 2016, we have had FOUR rare increases, with no explanation. We received a call at 9:30pm saying we would be charged more, again, and when we asked to speak to a representative, they hung up. I had Suddenlink internet installed at my home so that I can work. First, the customer service the day I called to schedule the installation was bad. The lady said uh huh the entire call. She did not volunteer any prices. I had to ask her each question specifically to get a price. The day the installer came, he failed to leave an erhernet cord so that I could connect my computer. I called Suddenlink to see why I did not receive a cord. The representative just kept saying they no longer provide eternal cords with installation. I kept asking questions and he refused to answer the questions. I do not know if it was a language barrier (being that he clearly was not from the US) or if he was just being ignorant. He refused to get me a supervisor and told me they do not have a number to call and complain. My next after calling back and scheduling a callback was to yelp the business.. the customer service at suddenlink is HORRIBLE... It's unbelievable just how sorry this company really is! They got to hire their employees off the short bus. They are lazy and always find a reason not to do their jobs. I moved and explained to the technician that I didn't have my televisions or my TiVo box from my old house, well he said that was no problem. Needless to say when he left and i tried to hook up my equipment using his directions nothing worked. After waiting the whole weekend calling back Monday they made another appointment for Tuesday. They sent me the reminder email telling me how to be prepared but when I looked at it closely they had my old address for location of service. When I called to question the girl verified that is what happened and continued to explain that if I was not there they would charge me $60.00 for a no show fee. So they put the wrong address after I told them I moved, but gonna charge me because I'm not there. STUPID, that was your company's mistake and I wouldn't pay you one dime! Well no appointment today. No complete service since Friday until tomorrow which is Wednesday. No service, no pay! I think it is sad about the customer service they offer to their customers! read more

High prices and data caps are rediculous in this day and age. On top of that you have a minimum of 2 month seasonal hold policies which can only be used after 6 months of service? I have been without internet service for 10 days. I called on Wednesday and was on hold for an hour with no answer. On Thursday, they made an appointment for a tech to come out on Saturday. On Saturday, the tech said someone else would have to come out but it would be "today, tomorrow, or Monday." On Monday evening, when my internet STILL wasn't fixed, they assured me that it would be fixed between 10am-8pm on Tuesday. At 8:16pm on Tuesday, they said the tech was on the way. At 9:45pm, they said "Sorry the tech didn't show up. The next available appoint is in 9 days." UNACCEPTABLE! On Wednesday, I finally got in touch with a supervisor who said that it *might* be today, but someone would be in the area on Friday and would be there between 8am-11am. Now it's Friday afternoon and my appointment is Monday!!!! I called and asked for a supervisor, but "they were on the phone". They'll call me back within 12 hours. UNACCEPTABLE! Dispatch will call by tomorrow morning to let me know if they can get me an earlier day. Suddenlink clearly does not care if their customers have access to the services they proved. Terrible internet service. You get a fraction of what you pay for. I pay for 100 MB and get 20-30 most evenings and weekends .

It is trash I pay 62 a month for just wifi for a YouTube video to pause and it's auto 240p quality. Confused on why I'm paying. I'm using a Suddenlink router and modem. We can't live stream without pauses. We pay for the 200mb/s I recommend going anywhere else read more

Suddenlink is the absolute worst internet service provider I have ever dealt with. I live in Ayden and someone ran over our hook up in our front yard. The next day I call Suddenlink to see if we can get it fixed. Over the course of the next week and a half they sent 10 people out to my house and all but the last 2 said they were putting in a ticket for a service employee to come out and fix it. The first 8 people never put a ticket in and one of them came out to my house on 2 separate occasions. And so after constantly calling Suddenlink the issue was finally resolved and we were promised compensation for the week and a half of no internet and the time we spent at the house with the technicians instead of at our jobs. That compensation was $8 of our next bill. I lost almost an entire day of work because of them. That adds up to more than $8. And to add on to all of this we are paying $101 for 1 gigabyte of internet and we are barely getting 100 megabytes, if that, with a wired connection. I do not recommend Suddenlink to anyone and I never will again. I will also be moving to a different internet provider because this whole process has been nothing but pure stress. read more

This is the worst cable service I've ever had. I discontinued my cable service with them on October 5th. I turned in the router that belonged to them on October the 7th. It is now November 23rd and they have sent me messages saying that they are going to bill me for unreturned equipment. I have called them now 3 times in one week and explained that the equipment was turned in and all 3 times I have been told that it was a mistake and that it was taken care of. Today I got another message saying that I was going to be billed for unreturned equipment. Lol Again, I called them and they tried to tell me that I still had a box from a place I lived at 7 years ago. I have never had a cable box in my life. Only a router. They are clearly trying to figure out a way to charge me for something and they are now just making stuff up. I wonder if they do this to all their customers?? If so there is some major fraud going on. It's almost comical that I have called them 3 times and I was told each time that it was taken care of and there's no charge. I have no doubt that I will receive another message in a couple days saying that I need to turn in imaginary equipment. Suddenlink is a horrible business. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service... I looked into getting internet because of being in school. I was told sudden link was the best internet service in Greenville. I signed up and got a good deal at first... I was charged 49.70 a month and was told it was UNLIMITED data only to find out that I had gone over my data twice and would be charged for the third time. I called an agent to speak with them and was told in order to avoid going over again I need to upgrade and get more data. Before that my internet went out just before I paid my last bill for 49.70 ( how convenient). A tech was sent out to fix the problem free of charge before requesting someone to fix it I talked to the nicest agent I have dealt with there by far. She was relable and told me we could have a 10.00 credit due to our internet service messing up. My total using this credit would've knocked off 10.00 of my next bill like it should have to begin with. I recieved a bill for 66.04 I know taxes are always included that's a given. But when I called to question why I should have to pay 6.34 for upgrading my services I was immediately made to look like I was stupid. I was told that I wouldn't be charged for changing services and I just paid a bill so I couldn't be charged for anything!! Now I'm definitely gonna find a new internet service and drop them because I'm tired of dealing with them. I recommend everyone I know to use someone else. Worst customer service ever. Only gave them one star because I could not give the zero. Had my cable installed at the first of the month. I requested expanded basic and that is what the tech installed. Had a problem with some blacked out channels that were listed on their channel line up as being on expanded basic cable. The girl in tech support said I only had basic cable, I explained I had ordered expanded basic cable and that was what the tech had installed. All she could say was that she had to put in a work order even though I told her repeatedly that I wanted expanded basic. She put in a work order and had my service changed to basic. I had to call back and get a tech back out here to correct her mistake. Needless to say I was charged $53.50 for her mistake. I have talked to someone in billing and she was supposed to take the charges off. My need contact will be with the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. read more
