Leo and Carlos were extremely responsive. I had a leak with my dishwasher and they came the next day, diagnosed the problem, showed me where it was leaking and replaced the part. As a woman, I did not feel like they were cheating me. It is very possible the part was gnawed on by mice as there were droppings under the dishwasher, which they cleaned for me. I will use them again! read more

Our home warranty company sent Optimal out to fix the burners on our ILVE stove -it's really hard to find someone to work on these. Kyle was able to get in touch with the manufacturer and work through the issue. All my burners are happily flaming away. I couldn't be more pleased. One burner needed replacing, which took awhile for the part to come in. Once it did, Optimal was quick to follow up and get it installed. We've also scheduled them to come out and clean the ice machine. Cleaned up after himself and left everything neat and orderly. Our new go-to repair guy. read more

Made an inquiry on Yelp, they got back to me within minutes and were here the next day. They were busy but fit me in. The problem with my dryer was diagnosed and repaired. Additionally while the dryer was disassembled they cleaned years of lint that had accumulated everywhere. Kept the work area clean. Excellent job. read more

So I got a lemon for an Electrolux washer. I bought it two years ago and it broke within two months. Luckily I brought insurance on it. However, I dealt with over 10 repair appointments. The repair folks scuffed my walls, broke my drain pan, complained that it was in closet, refused to fix it because it was stacking and there was a dryer on top. That time it was the computer panel. I cannot work from home so I was at my wits end with using vacation time. Fast forward two years owning it and it broke again. Again I tried another company and they arrived after I told them it was a two person job with one person and couldn't fix it. The folks from optimal appliance repair were absolutely amazing. They arrived actually early, two super professional repairmen. Within 30 minutes my washing machine valve was fixed perfectly. I noticed noises before the repair and afterwards no more noise. No damage to the laundry closet and amazing cleanup. I was lucky that they pretty much fixing my washer like a day after contacting them. It's been working perfectly for a month. I would highly recommend! read more

Reliable and fast service. Leo at Optimal Appliance did a great job repairing my 25-year-old washing machine. I was afraid it had reached its end of life, but Leo and his helper brought it back to life. The workspace was tight and cramped, but they handled it without a problem and for reasonable cost. This was the second repair (broken ice maker 2 years ago was earlier). Highly recommended for reliable, good quality appliance repair. read more

Leo and Carlos are excellent! They arrived on time, made a diagnosis and repaired our oven and ordered parts for the ice maker!

Second time I have had Leo and Carlos repair an appliance, this time my icebreaker. Leo diagnosed on the phone, asked for pictures of the model number, and we set up an appointment two days later. He and Carlos arrived exactly on time, with the replacement unit. 20 minutes later, icebreaker working. Cost very reasonable, and the opportunity to visit with Leo and Carlos an added benefit. Good for them building a business on their own. Urge everyone to support small businesses. No hesitation in recommending Optimal, you get straight talk, prompt and skilled service and value for the work they do. John G read more

Leo and Carlos were efficient and courteous in repairing my Samsung dryer. He communicated promptly and clearly, arriving on time and answering my questions clearly. The price quoted was accurate and fair. Leo also demonstrated care for my washer -- returning to ease his mind that nothing had been inadvertently dislodged or otherwise. read more

Called them yesterday afternoon about my Samsung dryer not working, Samsung was charging 180 to just show up & they wouldn't deal with my stacked dryer at all. OAR said they could handle it the next day from 11-1 and sure enough they got here a bit after 11, quickly fixed it, and were gone by 1215! Was under $400 and definitely less than Samsung would have charged. Also comes w/ a 3 month warranty if it breaks anytime soon. They also cleaned out my entire dryer, cleaned out the lint hose, and vacuumed up the entire area when they finished. 10/10 experience will use again. read more

I called Leo about a refrigerator repair at 10 am - lightning strike fried something. He had a suspicion as to what the problem was, so asked me for the model number, telling me where to find it. He called back saying he'd be at the house at 3 pm. They arrived precisely at 3 pm with the right part, and fixed the refrigerator in 20 mins for a reasonable price. In terms of communication, skill, effectiveness, and reliability, you can't ask for more than Optimal. Oh - and he texted me later to make sure all was well with the appliance. When your appliances breakdown, it IS kinda of an emergency when it it something you use daily. Our Bosch dishwasher started displaying an error code. When I looked up what that error code was, I immediately thought: "Oh hell, this is NOT good." It wasn't... I called Optimal and Leo the owner got RIGHT back to me. Told him what the error code was, told him model number and about an hour later he was at my door with the new heat/pump element. No muss no fuss. But THAT is not all. Usually appliance repair folks are very...let's just say.....they don't really 'communicate' very well with the customer....NOT THESE FOLKS. Leo was very explanatory on the part, why it goes awry (every 6-8 years), what he was going to do, etc etc. He also REFUSED to take payment until job was done and I was completely satisfied. His colleague (forgot his name) had also 30 years in the business and was very friendly.....Leo also talked about other appliances and how some are easier to get parts for than others. He also gave me a 3 month warranty on the work...if ANYTHING goes wrong he would fix it for free. SO I have saved his phone number in my phone, because I WILL be using him again and referring him all over. 5 stars is NOT even enough to rate this business...10 stars!!! read more

This review is long overdue. I've used Leo for several years at two different properties. Each time, he has been nothing but exceptional. He's been honest when an appliance just needed to be replaced and not be repaired. He's always transparent with the cost of parts and no markup. His rates for labor are incredibly fair. Most importantly, he cares. If you need an appliance repaired and you want someone who provides exceptional service and can be trusted, and get the job done fast and at a fair price, call Optimal right away! read more

Did a great job in fixing our leaking washing machine. Very timely and fast service. The mechanic was knowledgeable and professional.

Quick and clean same-day oven repair! Both Leo and Carlos were very responsive and helpful.

Leo answered immediately and we quickly scheduled time for he and his associate to come to fix our oven. They called 30 minutes before arriving and were fast and just great all around. I hope we have no other appliances in need to repair, but if we do, will absolutely call Leo / Optimal Appliance Repair again. read more

Leo at Optimal Appliance Repair finished off a hellish 4 months with a great final result. We had a nightmare of a time getting our new dryer bought, delivered, and installed, including almost 2 months to get it installed. Multiple failed attempts at install with other vendors later, Leo came through. I called Leo yesterday after another vendor (Thompson Appliance Repair) ghosted us, and squeezed me in at the end of his day today in a 4-6pm two-hour window. He came to the house and initially was concerned about getting the install done due to limited space, but he went above and beyond to try to find a solution. Leo and his helper are very experienced and well versed in appliances and their install, and came up with a creative solution to complete the install. He ended up using his own bracket to get the job done right. On top of it all, the cost was very reasonable for the difficult work and creativity it requires. Leo has a customer for life. Thank you!! read more

My oven wouldn't heat even though the cooktop and broiler were working fine. I submitted for a quote on Optimal Appliance Repair's website and received a call back to schedule a visit for the next afternoon. They called ahead before arrival with an ETA, looked at the problem, brought the correct replacement part, installed it and turned on the oven for me to see that the issue was resolved, which they did in about 30 minutes flat. I'm very happy, and I know I saved money compared to going with my appliance brand for servicing. I'll definitely keep them in mind for the future. read more

Optimal Appliance Repair - Appliances & Repair Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

Optimal Appliance Repair is my new #1 on my repair call sheet. I have to admit, Leo and Carlos were not the first people I called when my refrigerator temperature dropped to below freezing-and continued to sink (it got to 18). They should have been. I called 5 other companies. One of them said they only serviced Virginia. The others could not be bothered to call back (one of them I called three separate times). When I called Optimal Repair, Leo himself picked up the first time. His first question to me was 'Can you provide me with the brand and model number.' That is exactly the type of question I wanted to hear. This was Tuesday afternoon, and he said he could swing by Thursday morning. I got a call Wednesday morning, with Leo saying that he had a job near me and could come by a day early if I was home. I was beyond delighted to have the option of him arriving a day early and immediately said 'yes.' Leo and Carlos showed up at the time they said they would. Based on my description of what was going on, Leo had brought with him the part that he thought was probably not working. And he was right. Leo then showed me on Amazon what the part costs, and explained with labor what the final price would be. I thought the price was very fair, and liked knowing that I was paying close to what the part costs. But here is where they really excelled. I told them that the fridge water dispenser was no longer working. This turned out to be a huge problem. Everything along the water line had frozen solid, to the point the water filter itself had cracked. They spent about an hour carefully heating up water to pour over the coils in the back of the fridge, and then replacing the connections on the filter which became brittle and broke under the cold. All the while cleaning up with a small HVAC they brought with them. They took their time and were careful. This turned out to be more problematic than the initial issue that brought them to my home. Leo then asked if I wanted to get a new filter through him, and left me with their spare so I could have water until he came back with the new filter. I also asked if he could get for me a new shelf (my shelf had cracked and my attempt at using plastic cement to hold it together was about to fail). He said no problem, and again, showed me what each item would cost before I signed off. My refrigerator is working once more. Leo and Carlos were everything I could have hoped for. Responsive, patient, arrived a day early, and did not flinch when the repair turned out to be more than we all thought. And quoted me a fair price, showing me what the actual costs of the parts were. They do every kitchen appliance plus washers and dryers. From here on out, I know who I am calling first if I have future appliance issues. And you should too after reading this review. read more

Leo and his partner showed up to repair our Bosch dishwasher within 2 hours of my contacting them. It needed a new main switch, which involved dismantling the front panel, pulling the appliance out from the wall, and then disconnecting the switch from the harness. Very complicated - I definitely could NOT do this myself! They worked nonstop for an hour and also leveled the appliance, as it was mounted slightly off horizontal. They made sure to confirm the repair before they left, and charged a very modest fee for this job. Optimal is a local small business with two employees who work hard to please their customers. Our refrigerator wasn't making any ice for while, we had a bad experience with a different technician who came over charged us and never came back to fix the refrigerator. He was very pontual, gave us the diagnosis on the refrigerator super quickly, three days later he came back with the parts, I am so happy that we found this company, they are the best.
