    Cocoons fit-over sunglasses in turquoise
    Jacquelin S.

A friend raved about Cocoons fit-over sunglasses. I checked out their website and found the only retailer in Davis (other than Kaiser) was Optical Phases (listed as Eye Werks on Cocoon's website) Cocoons come in various sizes so I stopped by the store to see what size would fit over my prescription glasses. I noticed that the price at the store was exactly the same as ordering direct from Cocoons so I was happy I'd be able to support a local small business without paying more. Cocoons offered a couple of fit-overs in pretty colors that weren't in stock at Optical Phases but they were happy to add to their recent order. Victor, the owner, helped me make a decision between amethyst or turquoise and said they should be in by the next Wednesday. I got a call the next Tuesday that they were there. And here the story about how wonderful Optical Phases is gets even better. I had just received new glasses and the lenses weren't working for me, the PD was measured incorrectly, twice. Each re-do from my optometrist's office took five to six weeks wait for the lab to make them. I asked Victor if he could adjust the glasses so that I might avoid another mis-measurement and another month plus wait without my glasses. He said that the measurement was definitely wrong but was able to adjust the glasses so that they would work for me, though they ride a bit high. He then explained that he never charges for glasses adjustments, even if purchased elsewhere, nor for replacing screws. He does take insurance but is off-network for VSP. I will be calling VSP to see what the difference in cost might be and next year might go direct to him to have my prescription glasses made. And that brings me to the final amazing aspect of this business. They grind their own lenses and their turn-around time is about five days. Compare that to the five to six weeks wait currently with the VSP lab.

I just needed a simple repair but it was completed while I waited and the price was more than reasonable. I'll go back.

Sadly mine couldn't be done within 30 minutes because I ordered the anti-glare and they didn't have that in stock so I had wait a few days.

Dr. Sara took the time to explain to me my changes in prescription and I never felt rushed from start to finish. My new prescription feels spot on. I immediately could notice a difference compared to my previous pair of glasses, with everything being clearer and sharper. When it came to picking out glasses at this office, there was an extensive selection of options. It is typically difficult to find a pair that fits my head comfortably, but with the help of Amir, I had no problem finding the perfect pair that fit my face and matched my style. They also offer a numerous amount of lens enhancements (I chose the photochromic and anti-glare enhancements which I've been really happy with). Overall, Angel Eye Care provided one of the best eye care experiences I've had. Dr. Sara is not only super smart but is also one of the nicest people I have met. The Angel Eye Care team provided a thorough and efficient exam, accurate prescription, and high quality glasses. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an eye exam.

I went here because I just needed a quick eye exam to get contacts. It was weird but bearable. All the staff is a bit weird and unprofessional and seem to not know what's going on. They spelled my name wrong multiple times on the sheet and didn't even correct some of it. I finally came to the appt where i purchase my contacts. I wait 2 weeks and no one every called me for an upstate when they said it'd take a week. I call and they said oh they just came in right now. I was like okay how long are you open? & she replied "5:30, but can you come before then" like ok ig lol. I go over there they had me a SINGLE one week pack. I'm like this is not 3 month worth's of single wear contacts. She proceeded to tell me there's more in there... I opened it n was like No. She goes oh sorry we'll order them in again ig they didn't order them... She tells me it'll take a week, and i told them to PLEASE call me. More than a week has gone by and no call. I called and they're so unhelpful and remain clueless about my contacts. I ask for an update now it's been about a month with no contacts while i have already PAID IN FULL. She was all "we still don't have them, but your chart is out. So i'll ask." I'm like "ok PLEASE call me with an update then?" She still hasn't called back. This place is wack asf and weird Do not come here. Not only was my request denied but they didn't even have any appointments for an eye exam till April to try and remedy the slightly outdated prescription. I understand they may have some rules to abide by but to have some decency and consideration for the situation would have gone a lot further. Dr. Busby needs to reevaluate his front desk employees as they do paint a picture of the business in general and this picture was not a good one. Not continuing as a customer any longer!
