Have gone to Optical Masters for almost 20 years. Love them! Surprised to read some of these reviews as I've always been treated very well. They were patient when I've gone back because my glasses weren't seeming like they had a setting enough prescription - they redid eye exam and put in new lenses that were better for free. When I wanted to try contacts, they spent a lot of time listening to my countless questions and teaching me how to use and care for my contacts. Even when I decided I just couldn't hang with the contacts, they gladly took my unopened contact lenses towards credit on glasses. Plus they always have my glasses ready the next day. The doc doing the eye exam was good. If I were to return, I'd see him and get my prescription filled elsewhere. The guy that helped me with my frames and lenses appeared to not be at all interested in what I was looking for. He just tried to find the cheapest frames possible (ugly) and the most expensive lenses possible. He sat down and added up the numbers and told me my "out of pocket price." Which was close to $300 even after applying my groupon deal. He seemed perturbed when I asked him to give me a breakdown on the charges and annoyed when I didn't choose the most expensive option. His "people skills" we're pretty much non-existent. I would never have him assist me again. If I give them another chance, I'll request someone else. I've been wearing glasses for more than 40 years. This place was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with the quality of service and highly recommend them. So, I made my appointment and the eye exam took less than 5 minutes, the doctor NEVER MADE EYE ONTACT and seemed very disinterested. I didn't think much of it at the moment because it was very busy. So I ordered my glasses...two weeks later, picked them up and wore them for about two weeks and something was off about them. So I made an appointment for re exam, nothing is wrong they say, but I can not see through these lenses. They say it's the pe of lens and upgrade the lens for more money out of my pocket and still they are not right. No one ever called me to see ow they were and there seems to interested in only the money and the staff is very uppity, I would not recommend this place EVER! You are better off going if You take caution and don't go to this place...you will have regrets. read more

I have been coming to Optical Masters for about 16 years now. I have referred my husband,my daughter and a few friends.I love the provider I see-he is a great doctor and I will continue to go because of him but the staff not so much. I find them dismissive and indifferent and rude. I have had a few bad experiences with them. I bought a brand new set of contact lenses a few weeks ago for $78. I put them in and they were cloudy they did not work for me. I made an appointment and the doctor prescribed me a new kind of contact lens. Of course when I came to check out what a shock but they could not refund me or give me some kind of credit on the lenses I just bought. She threw them back at me and said" keep them for an emergency" I cant wear them they don't work!!! After years of loyalty and business and referrals!I a wasn't even asking for a full refund but maybe an extra trial pair or $20 off when I buy the new lenses. Anything to help the sting of just having spent $78 the week before and these lenses don't work. Anything! I have given this place HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS! They are rude and penny pinching. Yes, they have great deals but they do not have the depth of knowledge to actual serve their clientele. I had the Optical Masters lenses evaluated by an ophthalmologist with dispensing optician. I will never go back to Optical Masters. Nor will I ever recommend it to my Families and Friends. I made my appointment online for the contacts & eye exam deal. They called me to confirm it. When I got there they ask me what can they do for me. I told them I made an appointment for the contacts and eye exam deal. They ask me the name of the deal. I didn't write it down so I didn't know the exact deal. I ask him the names of the deals they had. He told me he didn't know. Are you serious, how could you not know the name of deals you have. I should of walked out then. But I'm not witty, and fast. So I looked the deal up on my phone. Told them what deal I wanted. Went through the process and got trials put on. I could see far but couldn't see close (medium view). Plus it put a strain on my eyes when I try to read. Went back the opposite happened. Still couldn't read, they told me to put on reading classes. Really!!! I am getting contacts because I don't want to wear glasses. Later they told me I could get multi focal lenses. I got the trials, put in the order it cost $200 more not including the $87 I paid. But it still put a strain on my eyes when I read. So as I was waiting to see Dr. I started thinking, why didn't they tell me about the multi focal lenses in the beginning. So I got upset and stop my order. I saw the Dr. Again but they ran out of trail lenses for me. So I have to come back. I tried to get my refund or my prescription for the multi focal lenses. They refuse either, guess who was the Manager. The same person who told me he didn't know the name of the deals they had. His name is Shannon. I was to deal with him because I was getting nowhere with the other representative. I could understand the prescription part so I came back. I refuse to order through them. I went through a lot trying to get it right and it's still not right for I can only read for short periods of time. I just want to be done with them. I am upset on how they did me. But I do like to thank them for it. Because if they told me about the multi focal lenses in the beginning. I would've bought it without questions. I recently moved from Nebraska and was looking for a new place to get my eyes checked and get some new contacts, as I don't really care to wear my glasses . I called the office thinking I was going to have to wait for an appt, thankfully I was able to get in right away yesterday afternoon. The staff was all so friendly and very helpful. Dr Green was great. I even got a great pair of glasses Shannon helped me find the perfect pair, even tho I took quite a long time to find the perfect pair that made me look fabulous! The worst possible experience EVER!. They use the cheapest lenses on the market and if they can't get the glasses to work they dump you. After weeks of telling me I had to get used to them, they tried to tell me it was my fault the glasses made me dizzy and nauseous. (I have been wearing glasses for 40+ years, definitely a lens and frame issue not a consumer issue) The owner came across as a jerk with no people skills and a bottom line of how much money can he make attitude, not a how can I make this right for you the costumer. Not a place I would choose to support or spend my hard earned $$ at. I would recommend driving one block east (Onieda) find a tiny shop called Marks Optical and spend less money, have a quality experience and walk away with fabulous frames & quality lenses. I wanted some new glasses because my old glasses had become scratched. I had been happy with Optical Masters in the past, so I returned for my new glasses. Initially, the new glasses didn't work for me, so they made new glasses with a different material. Again, the new glasses didn't work for me, so I left the lenses at the shop. The next day, Michelle, the manager, called. She was very concerned about my experience and wanted to do whatever it took to make things right. I was impressed. I went back to the shop. Dr. Jay checked my eyes again and found the prescription was correct. I decided to go ahead and give the new lenses another chance. Jason tweaked them a little. So far so good. Ugh! They love the classic bait and switch move. $89 for glasses and a prescription seems like an awesome deal. Until you go in and they show you the 10 frames that are for the $89 price. But they don't show you those frames. They push you into the frames that are $200 each, then unfortunately the special doesn't apply to those frames after u have already gone thru the eye exam and measured for the glasses you want. Today was the second time I came to this place. I liked how many different frames they have I'll say that. I came in 2 days before I actually made the appointment to look at their frames and a guy who works there said if I buy the frame they get the lenses for me. And since I got a designer frame the lenses would also include the AR. So I made an appointment for that same week 2 days later. On Thursday I came in and got the exam taken care of right away. When it came to cashing out I changed my frame from a $339 PRADA frame to a $289 D&G frame. I asked how much it would be for everything and the total was $657!! For the exam a box of contacts for each eye the lenses and the frame!! I knew It would be $159 for the exam instead of $85 like that men told me since I am getting a box of contacts for each eye, however I was not told that they would buy the lenses for me if they were plastic lenses!! So I was charged $50 for a scratch coat $90 for I guess a thinner lens since I have a strong cylinder prescription on my right eye and a additional $60 for I don't know what. I liked the frame and I wanted new glasses so I didn't make a big deal out of it right there and there but I will here. Because then you wonder why everyone prefers peepers optical across the street almost, even if they are more expensive they don't lie to you to get your business!! I'm really disappointed in this place since I came here last year as well and only got contacts so I was happy. Lesson learned, don't purchase glasses here. Since I payed $500 for this pair of glasses I will used it as long as I can and make it worth the money. read more

I would give this place a zero if I could it was the worst eyeglass frame shopping experience ever! My girlfriend called them a week prior to our visit to see if our insurance was accepted their which the person on the phone said yes it was.We end up arriving and right away you can tell the don't give a flying damn about the customer the doctor wouldn't even talk to us about our eye exam results he just hands them over to the sales rep to get your frames. We overlook that part and proceed to pick our frames when it was time to pay they wanted to charge me almost 400 dollars for just my frames when I show them what my insurance covers they have a meeting in the back room. After a few minutes the sales guy comes out and now magically my insurance is out of network well gee thanks for wasting 3 hours of my day!!!! Went to another optical store and got the same frames at a fraction of what these car salesmen were trying to charge. I got an eye exam, 6 months' worth of contacts, and two pair of glasses for under $400! The optometrist was very helpful in fitting me with contacts that are suited for my dry eyes, and he even gave me some Peroxiclean to try out (something no other eye doctor has ever suggested, and it has made a world of difference). The optician who helped me choose my frames was very knowledgeable and patient (I tried on at least 60 pair of frames), and while he fulfilled his duty as "salesman", he was also aware of my budget and did everything he could to help me get what I needed. I would recommend this place with no hesitation! They often have coupons/specials in the ValPak mailer, but I think they pretty much have regular offers if you just ask what deals they are offering when you go in. read more

Walked in with no interview on a Saturday. Place was pretty busy and still was able to get a glasses and contact exam within 15 minutes. Pretty awesome. The whole process was pretty smooth overall. Their coupons in westward is what got me in as I wanted to get a contacts and a new pair of glasses. With the contacts I wanted, they did not have a coupon for so I was not able to use any of the coupons i brought in. Still, with my buying 139$ frames and paying 90$ for the lightweight lenses, he gave me the eye exam for free. Also put anti scratch on for free. The contacts however he charged me $179 for a box for each eye. I proceeded to come home and look up the same exact contacts on 1800contacts.com and found out they charged me double! So I'll be taking the contacts back and getting them on the internet. Overall it was a pretty good visit and I guess no real harm done if I am able to return the contacts and get my money back for those. read more

For only $160 each, we both got comprehensive eye exams (from the very cool Dr. J), eyeglasses AND prescription sunglasses. Wow! Wow! Wow! Too bad there aren't more stars to give! This place is amazing! The entire staff is so friendly and personable, not to mention incredibly punctual and efficient! It's been quite a while since my last optometrists visit, and so happy I chose to come here. My boyfriend recommended them to me, (he is a long-time customer here) and although it's a little off the beaten path if you live in Denver proper, it is well worth waiting thru a little Colorado Blvd traffic. My appt. was at 2:30, I picked out a pair of frames and asked if they could also put lenses in a pair of delicate vintage frames that I had found years ago at an estate sale- the optician said it would probably be early next week before they were finished, but sent me home with a couple extra pairs of contacts since I leave for vacation early tmrw morning. Two hours later I get a call that everything is ready to go! They expedited my order because I was leaving in the morning!! Being new to Denver, I didn't know where to go for new frames and prescription sunglasses. My neighbor recommended Optical Masters on the corner of Monaco and Leetsdale, and told me to ask for Robin. When we arrived, ironically, we were greeted by Robin. The store was very busy but I felt like the only customer there based on the level of attention I received. Robin was extremely knowledgeable and patient. I must have tried on 20 different frames as she observed and listened. I actually found three pair that I really loved, 2 prescription frames and 1 pair of prescription sunglasses. Robin took note of my style and brought over a pair of Prada frames that I absolutely couldn't live without. My son was with me and he couldn't bare leaving empty handed. All and all we walked away ordering 4 pair of frames and was pleasantly surprised to hear, they'd be ready the next day. They have a great selection, unheard-of pricing and friendly-professional staff, it made the process of ordering new glasses a breeze. Worst place I have ever been they got my rx wrong didn't put any of the things I purchased into my glasses , I paid over 700$ to this company and they wouldn't give me my money back after I asked for it I had all my receipts and they wouldn't give me my money back , when they messed up my rx they told me that my eyes just needed to adjust after a week I came back and saw the doctor and she didn't even catch the mistake until I was almost leaving.They had read my prescription wrong and was off by 20!!!! Points, This place just wants your money they made numerous mistakes and I had to pull teeth for them to fix the mistakes .NEVER have I had soo many issues when trying to simply purchase glasses. I also think they are way over priced . The staff is rude and unprofessional at explaining prices to you they don't communicate very good it's almost like they just want to act like they told you . The staff was a bit incompetent, albeit friendly enough. I ordered two pairs of glasses, one tinted, and specifically double checked before leaving that the correct lenses were marked as the sunglasses. When I returned to pick up my order lo and behold they had tinted the wrong pair. The staff member apologized and promised to have the error corrected by 5 pm that day. When I arrived shortly after 5 the order was still not complete and I had to wait appx. 20-25 minutes while they finished tinting the sunglasses. Not too big of a deal, left somewhat annoyed but not overly dissatisfied. Fast forward to 4 DAYS after wearing my glasses, I am now in an airport in another country and boom, my lens falls out of my frame. At first glance it seems that the screw has come loose and needs to be tightened so I allow my travel partners to lead me to the nearest sunglasses retailer in hopes they have the appropriate tools. The sales associate at the counter kindly agrees to help me, goes to tighten the screw but unfortunately it has been completely stripped. Yup, 4 days after purchase, screw is completely stripped and useless. So here I am with my useless brand new glasses, thanks Optical Masters. So while they are fast and friendly, the product they provide is sadly sub par. Don't waste your money. read more
