We have been using Optic Nerve for many years and are always happy with the service and products provided.

I noticed that Optic Nerve is advertising that they take VSP now, and I needed an exam, so I stopped in. To my surprise, they were able to seat me for one right away, and gave me an excellent and professional exam in the space of about 20 minutes. (They do also take appointments, but they happened to have a space in their schedule. Lucky me!) After we determined that I needed a new prescription, I was able to drop off my frames to get new lenses, and the price was pretty reasonable with my VSP co-pay. My glasses dropped off on a Friday, and ready to pick up by the following Tuesday - I was really impressed! Since then, my wife's also gone in for an exam and new glasses, and I was very impressed with the way the staff walked us through different options, made sure everything was fit correctly, and made suggestions to help us get what we needed while trying to keep costs from getting out of control. I've really had a good experience every time I've been in, and I've happily recommended them to others. They're way better than the usual experience you get from a Lenscrafters or similar stores in a mall. read more

I made the switch to Optic Nerve a year ago and couldn't be happier. The doctors are friendly and clearly know what they are doing. My previous eye doctors just seemed to go along and give a prescription just to do it, but the doctors here have not done that. They have taken the time to make sure they have my prescription right and honestly my eyes have never been better. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and helpful with picking out frames. I got my favorite frames here last year and absolutely love them! The frame selection here is really good too. They have a larger selection than most. I would highly recommend this office to anyone. read more

I have been going to Optic Nerve for 15 years and got great service until this year. They have their hours posted on the door on a piece of paper. Only open Tuesday and Friday. So don't look the hours on their web site, they are wrong and never updated. Then don't make an appointment from their web site either. They don't look at those. I made an appointment for a Friday and they had no idea who I was and then asked if I made the appointment online. So they then tell me that those are not valid as they don't get them. Then they have no more appointments before the end of the year and I can not use my VSP insurance for the appointment. So I order contacts to at least use some of my VSP insurance. They order the wrong lenses. When I go in to tell them that they are wrong and I can see with them, then tell me I have to order the correct ones with my own money! Finally got the doctor to agree to order the lenses that were wrong and I will never be going back to that place again!! Completely incompetent staff there. No customer service skills. The doctor is great. Too bad he cant hire people with like skills. read more

I have been getting glasses from this location on and off since 2006. I the past I have had a great experience, however the last few visits have been horrible. The staff wasn't helpful one bit, no one came to assist me, no one took the initiative to help me pick out frames that may suit me better than the ones I had picked out myself. I did however still get frames and when I ordered them they told me that I would receive text message once the frames arrived. I finally grew tired of waiting for said text message and called the store and asked if my frames were in and they told me that they have been there for two days, so I ask them why didn't I receive a notice that my frames were in, the technician shrugged her shoulders as to say "I don't know" but I took that as "I don't care". I've had 5 pairs of glasses from this place since 2006 and I will be getting zero pairs in the future. I am highly upset and irritated with the lack of customer service that OpticNerve presents. read more

I walked in to buy some new glasses and the team there did not bother to assist. They decided that it was better to watch the college football game instead of waiting on customers. When I asked questions on some of the glasses, it appeared as if I was disturbing there free time. I ended up going to Lens Crafters. read more

Exam and contact fitting. Daughter is new to contacts so it took a couple of visits to get her into the right kind (kept tearing them). I had to reschedule a visit due to an emergency trip to the hospital and there was no issue at all in doing so. Got back in the following week. Used vsp, explained insurance thoroughly and was actually cheaper than I thought it would be. Only complaint was first visit the doctor was running pretty far behind schedule, but she still did a thorough exam for us and didn't rush to make up the difference. A purchased glasses from them over a year ago. Last week, they got severely bent and the lens support wire snapped (don't fall asleep with your glasses on, FYI). I went in expecting to buy a new pair, when the staff mentioned they would probably be able to fix my current pair if I wanted to save some money. The gentleman who does repairs had already left for the day, but by 11:30am the next day they were as good as new, no charge! So very disappointed with my visit today, Sunday, August 6, 2017. I went in to Optic Nerve at Polaris in Columbus, Ohio to look for Chanel frames. I was told that all they have is in the case. I asked if they could order others. I was told yes. I found a frame that I liked online (using my phone) and asked the young man to see if this frame was available. He checked his computer system and told me the frame was not available. I asked him if I could look at his computer to see what was available. He told me no because there are hundreds available. I then asked him, what website can I get on to see what you can order. He told me Chanel.com. I said, so I need to look for frames on line and then come back to you to see if they are available. He said yes, just look for the Chanel name. I told him thank you but I will go someplace else where they are more helpful. Maybe it was his lack of experience that created one of the worst customer service experience that I have encounter in a long time. read more

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. On two occasions, I browsed Optic Nerve Polaris to purchase eye wear. Mike, a salesperson, assisted me. He was exceptionally patient and helpful explaining proper fit, face frame, and hardware features of each selection. Mike also took the initiative to select several frames and describe 'why' a particular frame complemented my facial features. I have been wearing prescription glasses for two years and no one-at any prescription eye wear or doctor's office- has ever explained what to look for in frames as Mike. Like everyone else, selecting eye wear was in the company of a trusted friend, family member or a staff person at the place of purchase. We have going to Optic Nerve for the past 5 years. I am not a person to leave negative reviews but felt the need to do it this time. Previous customer service had been great but during the last two visits the service had drastically deteriorated. Very dissapointed (not returning phone calls or willing to solve situation).Will have to find a new place to get our glasses and contacts. read more

I cannot recommend anyone to go to ON for glasses, horrible customer service, they just keep lying about the glasses not passing the lab's inspection (happened twice to me) and delayed shipping. Apologizing and not helping and solving the problem. Too expensive for the quality of service. So frustrated! read more

Great ophthalmologist and staff is nice too. They are just too expensive for me even with vision insurance. My only complaint is: it's difficult to get an appointment. The nearest ones seem to always be months away. read more

I had eye exam appt April 8, 2017 for glasses and contact lenses. After waiting approximately 3 weeks for trial lenses, numerous calls with no response I received lenses. After wearing lenses approximately 2 weeks, I again try to contact via phone. Calls go to voicemail and no return call.finally I talk to a "live person" that schedules appt. I then meet with Dr he examines me with contacts. I voice my dissatisfaction with his office, and he personally guarantees that I will have new contacts within 2-3 days. I again voice my dissatisfaction with his office, and I need need contacts to wear for event Saturday. He takes my contact information and reassures me that I will have them. Today ifs on day, May 22, I again try to contact office straight to voicemail. I still have no contact lenses or return call. I do not recommend them to anyone. Very aggravating for something you already paid for. read more

I found a pair of Ernest Hemingway frames at Optic Nerve and Chris, the manager, quoted me $250 for the frames and lenses (which, by the way, I found for $39 online). Returned the same day and spoke to Audrey, she quoted me $200. Why the price difference? Audrey was going to order me the frames in a different color and told me they would arrive in a few days. I called repeatedly to see if my frames were in, but no one ever answered or returned my call. Optic Nerve only seems to be interested in selling to you once your in the store to make a fast buck. read more

I've been very patient with Optic Nerve. I ordered 3 designer prescription frames/glasses/sunglasses in AUGUST 2018 and my order has yet been satisfied as of APRIL 28th 2019. Every time I've called the location I always have to leave a voicemail message for contact. I've been a customer with Optic Nerve for more than 5 years+. This experience alone will surely deter my family and I & any future recommendations. I've been going back and forth with Optic Nerve for an ridiculous amount of time now. I've made many trips to this store to leave disappointed. Most recently I went to pick up my sunglasses and the right lens was inverted and I could not see a thing. This was a clear error that anyone could have seen prior to me coming out and having to question my own vision/prescription. I do not think morally ordering prescription glasses that are in stock should take 8-9 months. I have not kept informed on the status of my glasses being completed. I'm overall very disheartened and I do not understand why the service has deteriorated so much over the years. I hope no one will have to go through this experience and feel like I do. I hope this review brings full awareness of my experience and will inform others of Optic Nerve and their business practices with true neglect for customer service. read more
