Worst company ever. Takes online orders sends nothing. This company says its vet owned but rips off all vets.

One of the differences as opposed to California is that they carry Stiletto Knives, Also Known As CIA Gravity Knives. They are approximately 4.5 inches long and the blade deploys and retracts from the grip using a dual throw (Forward and Back) button or switch. Very cool! Don't worry California, I did not buy one, as cool as they are. Yup, all of the fun stuff is illegal in California, like butterfly knives, Stilettos and firearms with the "Fun Button" (Safe-Semi-Auto) on them. Sigh! One light at the end of the tunnel was "Jerry". Be nice to Jerry, he is a cool guy but if you get on his nerves, that's on you. All I can say is that he has seen some stuff and he may be the definition of "F" around and find out. Jerry is very knowledgeable and he pointed my nephew in the direction of the perfect tactical backpack, among other accessories and toys that will compliment his new career in federal law enforcement. I did not buy much, except for a memorable patch. I get one from each 5.11 I visit, just to say "Been there, my dude!" Overall, it is a large store with a lot of selection. If you are looking for some discounted or marked down winter ware, now is the time to check it out. I found a neat jacket, however I live in the Sweltering Summer portion of California and triple digit temperatures are less than a month away. So, I passed on the jacket. However, if you are Military, Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire Department, Practical Pistol Shooter, Multi-Platform (Pistol & Long Gun) competitor, or a First Responder of any kind and you need boots, pants, "Shorts", a tactical carrier (No Ballistic Plates are sold here, to my knowledge), morale patches, a quick snap tourniquet or some gym attire,... Talk to Jerry! Heck I would go back just to chew the fat with Jerry again. Be safe, everyone!

Sounds like it's an issue with mistaken orders, which happens with us 25% of the time. Luckily, I have their brick and mortar close by and return in person, but returns are now inconvenient enough that I will shop at Backcountry and Competitive Cyclist as much. I will agree with other reviewers that their support has plummeted in quality. Not sure what self-important MBA they hired to make the changes in shipping and customer service, but they certainly know how to decrease value in their company.

This is completely unacceptable for several reasons: It leaves the item vulnerable to damage from weather and handling. It significantly increases the risk of theft, as the contents are clearly visible. It does not meet basic standards for secure and protected delivery. To make matters worse, I've already had issues with a previous item from this order being defective, missing the black o-ring from regulator, which caused a propane leak, and this experience only adds to the frustration. I had to repurchase a new grill while waiting for the return/refund of the first one purchased. I'd like to understand: Why this item was not placed in a proper shipping box? What your policy is regarding items shipped in manufacturer packaging only? Additionally, what would have happened if I wasn't in a position to repurchase a replacement item while waiting for a refund on a defective one? This process places an unfair burden on the customer. The customer service representatives didn't offer a single apology. What a nightmare! I'll stick with REI.

I love Scheels. I like how they are organized that somehow makes shopping comfortable. The layout…read moreof the store is great, from clothing to camping to the cafe to hunting to toys. There is a great selection and variety. I mostly go for the toys. There is a specific toy that I seek and this is the place to find them. While their toy department is not huge and is just a relatively smaller department within the store, what they do have is quality stuff, things that people actually seek out. Lego sets, RCs, educational children's toys, games, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent selection of disc golf discs. They even had some of one of my favorite brands, Kastaplast! Either Kastaplast is finally getting some mainstream recognition or Scheels has a good sporting goods manager. Speaking of which, Ashton is a great guy and truly thinks of the customer first and the customer's experience. There were even Zuca disc golf carts there. And they were all on sale. Another aspect to love about Scheels are the things you can do there like mini bowling, shooting arcade, and the Ferris wheel. You can have a date there for cheap! And then go to the cafe for a meal or treats. BTW, the jerky they sell there is excellent! All the employees there are very helpful. In some small ways, Scheels is better than Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse. In this competitive market, small ways is what stands you apart. I really like those other stores, too, but Scheels just feels different. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

(I had several questions) 10 minutes in golf department. Same story. 20 minutes in BBQ and the two guys there seemed more worried about the display looking great than offering help. I have two of their products, I'm not a pro or even casual climber - I live in Florida so there's nothing to climb, but I've reached out twice over the year for a headlamp that I left in my car and the batteries exploded and their functional Noctilight case that started breaking - both products were purchased in 2018 and the headlamp was 100% my fault and I told them Other places would tell me that these things were my fault (they'd be right) or it was just wear and tear (reasonable) and they couldn't do anything or they'd offer me a 20% for something from the site, but not Petzl. Petzl completely repaired my headlamp and sent me a rechargeable battery pack (retails for about $30) and since they couldn't replace the headlamp case, they're sending me a completely new one, all at no cost. It's absolutely incredible and I've never bought anything from a company that goes this above and beyond for people.
