We started at Kindercare for summer camp this summer and my daughter is having the best experience…read more We were warmly welcomed by all of the front desk staff, security staff, and teachers. I just have to brag about my daughter's amazing teachers, Ms. Destiny and Ms. Shelene! Coming into summer my little one identified the letters in her name and now she knows 22/26 letter names. As a teacher myself, I am so impressed! They have truly instilled a love for learning for my girl. She comes home asking to do a letter hunt or practice letter writing. We are so grateful she has had such a fun summer while learning and growing with her incredible teachers and friends. We are looking forward to a great school year ahead.

But for the safety and health of these children. The parents really need to be aware of what's going on here. these children are moved around from room to room unbeknownst to the parents. I do not have improper to no equipment for the children ...The teacher - student ratio is inappropriate to say the least. The food ( that parents pay for ) has little to no nutritional value . The things that I've heard firsthand about the administrative staff I know are to be true & not at all exaggerated. They are NOT nice ladies at all.-and I will leave it at that. I can't leave zero stars so I will click on one star, which they do not deserve.PLEASE PARENTS. do your research before bringing your child here or anywhere for that matter.

The admission fees is very expensive and I paid 400.00 each for two shadow dates and a statewide assessment test. Both of my children were denied into the school grades K & 7th. I was told they didn't test at a high enough percentile out of 96%, total BS. I must admit I was angry, but luckily both of my children were accepted into a better more diverse school. No child's needs a school were the faculty shrug their faces up at children visiting and are only out for money with fees combined with fees.. Today was the my last day that my daughter will be attending this speech facility…read more I recently tried to login to attend my daughters zoom session for speech therapy. I was appalled by the level of discrimination and false accusations about my child's attendance. There was a lack of understanding and compassion for the multiple hardships we have faced this month. We were treated poorly for the things we could not control. My daughter was exposed to COVID, and our car broke down. We explained our hardships to Theralympic Speech. Despite having explained that she was unwell and transportation was an issue, they refused to work with us a little longer to get back on track. We tried to speak to the director about our concerns about the policy and the troublesome speech therapist Katelyn; however, she failed to follow up and disregarded our concerns. The clinic first offered zoom meetings, but they lied about my daughter's attendance causing her not being able to attend speech sessions anymore. We did attend the sessions, they falsified her attendance on certain dates. When the therapist did sign in she was over ten minutes late at times. The therapist also kept trying to misdiagnose my daughter for something other than speech help even after we explained she has been evaluated. I highly discourage parents from bringing their children to this Speech facility. Unless you want to be discriminated against and mistreated, I would stay away from this place. No child should feel unwanted and be denied services due to hardships. No parent should feel like a failure after trying their best. Good luck parents.

Very disheartening experience with Stephanie, one of the Director's. Extremely rude and sarcastic…read more It is unprofessional to talk to potential patients casually. During a conversation Stephanie had voluntarily disclosed that with a particular insurance type a patient wouldn't be seen, and that her office was the only provider willing to accept and good luck on finding help elsewhere. What healthcare professional speaks like this so someone? This derogatory language is super judge mental and telling of her opinion of patients with minority backgrounds. To put down patient by bringing up insurance and the quality of it, when someone is just inquiring about options, is insane! I do not recommend using their services if you truly want non-discriminatory treatment, especially on Long Island. No matter sex, age, race, income, insurance, patients making even INQUIRIES for care should be treated with respect, professionalism and understanding. I am leaving a review because sometimes people just write off experiences like this and move on, but it's not fair if other potential healthcare seekers go through similar things that can be avoided by just looking over a previous person's experience.

I called again the next day and was told I'd receive a call back. I called a third time the following week and was apologized to. The woman I spoke to said she would call me back in a "few minutes". Never got a call back. There's no way in hell you have absolutely NO time during the day to return a phone call inquiring about enrollment. If you don't have space, then say that. Beyond unprofessional & I wouldn't recommend this place in a million years.

Oyster Babies was caring and understanding. My daughter had been home with me up until she started there and they were sensitive to her needs and didn't push her to socialize but also didn't ignore her. When they became concerned with some of her behavior they met with me right away and were of great assistance getting her a full special education work up through Mill Neck Manor. They are a little expensive but they offer early and late care as well as flexible days. When I first put my daughter in school there I was working retail so I needed to have a sort off odd schedule and they were more than accommodating. The other wonderful thing is that food and all activities are included in their weekly/monthly fee. They serve breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. All the food is tasty and they serve a variety of different things. The center director is there almost all the time along with the assistant director. They are both wonderful people and will help with parenting problems and unique family situations. My daughter is really happy there and has loved all of the teachers she has been I contact with. The center strives for a home feeling in a school environment so all the different teachers are familiar with all the students and can call them and usually their parents by name which really makes everything seem more homey and friendly. They are definitely worth considering. We couldn't be happier unless they were cheaper. Haha

Now, on the other hand, I have had two brothers go through the Special Education program and have watched time and time again as the program failed my brothers. The school district misdiagnosed my little brother saying that he had ADD and so prescribed him adderall when, in reality he was dyslexic. Anyway, I think they need to develop their Special Ed programs. The school district is in need of good Special Ed teachers who bring the education to the students in a non-traditional way. SCSD prepares you along every step of the way, and especially to be a success in, and out of the classroom. Their curriculum is challenging, yet allows even the average student to reach their potential. They also offer the most AP/advance placement classes that I know of. I myself took 12 AP courses throughout my high school career, and I can attest that their standards help you prepare for college. Their sports, among other activities allow for well-rounded students come graduation day. The fine arts program is also extremely well funded, and allows for students to pursue their interests. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Syosset's teachers are paid higher, our taxes are higher, and our superintendent gets paid too much, but results come at a cost. I cannot speak about the Special Education programs as I have no personal experience with them, but for the average student going through Syosset, the results speak for themselves.
