For the amount of money I paid for our meals, I was highly disappointed. The food wasn't good. And, I didn't get what I ordered. Unfortunately, this was a take-out order, so I didn't check my food until I drove away. How can you not mention you're out of potato salad and give me a double dose of green beans, which tasted like they came straight from a can? The mashed potatoes certainly tasted like they did. Before I opened my to-go container, my sweet potatoes were so runny they spilled out of the container, down the sides, and dripped into my bag. It was a mess! The fried chicken tasted burnt, possibly fried in oil that needed to be refreshed. I was hoping for a better experience considering the highly-rated reviews, but unfortunately, I didn't get it. read more

They say the best food come from the "hole in the wall" restaurant. Well this place.....A true hole in the wall as they say. Very friendly people and atmosphere. They were sold out of the oxtail and dirty rice so didn't get to try it. We had fried shrimp, fried okra, Mac-n-cheese and boudin balls. Everything was amazing. Would definitely go back. We visited Ophelia's on a recommendation from our local travel guide. She said Ophelia's is the place for soul food. It was wonderful. My husband had the fish and shrimp plate with fried okra and collard greens with cornbread. I had the shrimp plate with collard greens, macaroni and cheese with cornbread. Tina was a very nice hostess and server. We did not get to meet the owner as he was doing a dinner for city employees. Plenty of parking spots, clean restaurant, great service and food. Large portions, so arrive hungry. We were both very hungry and dug in right away and forgot to take food pictures. Go and find out for yourself! This was such a surprise this evening This hidden gem serves amazing soul food. I ha fabulous grilled pork chops, greens, black eyed peas and corn muffin. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We came upon this restaurant by accident poor areas and I'm glad we did. The food definitely hit the spot and filled my soul. The service was equally good if not better. Rarely do you get to sit down and have good conversation with the owner, chef and staff. This alone would bring me back the restaurant.
