I can't ever remember a time when she was out of the office, even though it is expected on occasion as she is human. What I like most about Dr Gatson is how she sits down and truly listens, even though she may be typing on her laptop during our conversation. I understand that. Otherwise, she may forget some of the details of our conversation. She is a great diagnostician, but never fails to refer you out to a specialist if necessary. The medications she has prescribed to me seem on point. I've never had ANY complaints against this physician. EVER. I wouldn't hesitate to refer any of my family and friends to Dr Gatson. As far as I am concerned, she ranks as one of the very best. Oh... I almost forgot to add... this may be important to those who only have a limited time to see the doctor. You might have somewhat of a long wait to get called back to an exam room. And then another wait in the exam room. This wait does not bother me, as I know she is only spending one on one time with her other patients and to me, that is what it's all about. Because then I know I'm going to get that same thorough attention. I always clear my morning or afternoon when I have an appointment with Dr April Gatson. And lastly, but certainly not least, her nurse, Daisy, is sweet and takes good care of me. So if you are looking for a thorough, compassionate, accommodating, attentive and delightful family physician, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr April Gatson.

I recently moved to Texas after being with the same doctor in Florida for seven years. I had all of my medical records transferred, including my history with anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and severe sleep issues. Over the past year, I have gone through significant life events, including the loss of both parents and a divorce, making consistent and reliable care especially important. From the beginning, communication with this office has been difficult. I have called numerous times seeking assistance and often felt dismissed. When I asked if the doctor could return my call, I was told she "doesn't usually call patients back," which was discouraging given my situation. There have also been ongoing issues with my medications. Initially, I was only prescribed my antidepressant despite providing my full medical history. At one point, I lost my antidepressant and contacted the office to request a refill in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms. I was told by staff that Lexapro is a controlled substance and could not be refilled, which is untrue. Overall, the level of support and clarity provided has been inconsistent. I understand that policies and regulations exist, and I am willing to follow appropriate steps. However, the lack of communication and professionalism has made it difficult to receive proper care. I will be seeking care elsewhere. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, staff training, and patient support--especially for those managing serious mental health conditions.

This is a medical take-over and cannot benefit the patients. Rather, it tramples our rights and endangers our lives. We are forced to see UNQUALIFIED doctors and FNP's! Next, the first formal notification was several months after the fact and included half a dozen office visits that were now past due. Next, one bill that was sent actually had the wrong date of service and the billing department actually saw no issue with that, EVEN THOUGH THEIR OWN RECEIPTS DON'T EVEN SAY WHAT THE BILL IS FOR. The receipt only says you paid this much on this date. Not what you paid for. I refer you to several applicable laws that require certain information on medical bills. I suggest that you start following them before you end up getting fined.

The lady who takes blood brings her outside life to work and makes everything bitter and weird when I need blood drawn and she wiggles the needle in my arm for more blood and gives me bruises. the nurses tend to be extremely nice just no offense but the two bigger nurses are always in a bad mood idk why they just are. Our mother presented to the Emergency Department with acute altered mental status. Despite her significant cognitive and behavioral changes, the team prematurely concluded her symptoms were psychiatric in nature and attempted to admit her directly to Oceans inpatient psych facility. As a family with medical knowledge, we were appalled. Altered mental status requires a thorough differential diagnosis, including--but certainly not limited to--UTI, metabolic derangements, intoxication, and **intracranial pathology.** The ED ruled out only the most superficial possibilities and astonishingly skipped one of the most critical elements of any altered mental status workup: brain imaging. We refused the psychiatric admission and sought care elsewhere. The new provider ordered imaging which revealed multiple brain masses, including a 14 mm lesion in the left frontal lobe. This finding explains her symptoms far more plausibly than the dismissive and lazy label of "psych." The fact that she was almost institutionalized without appropriate medical evaluation is outrageous. Her insurance--Medicare A/B with a supplemental plan--was not a limiting factor. This was not about resources. This was a gross failure of clinical judgment and basic diagnostic protocol. Had we trusted the ED's premature and reductive assessment, our mother would be in a psychiatric facility right now, receiving zero treatment for her actual diagnosis while her condition worsened. The consequences of this kind of negligence are catastrophic and unacceptable.
