Actually took someone to the ER and after reading a few reviews I was kind of scared for this person. My surprise this staff was absolutely friendly & helpful from the check-in staff all the way to the doctors. Had concerns for the patient and explain everything along the way for us to understand. Even the freaking security guard was friendly & useful and that usually never happens at any hospital I've ever been to!!!! Never on my life have I had to wait 2 hours for them to even come see me while I was there. Been here a week already and the only good service it the lunch lady. I can't sleep been up all night and they REFUSE to give me anything to help sleep (not a sedative) just sleep and the nurse didn't even ask the DR if he would give me something she just straight up said "no" it's not 3:30 am and still NOTHING GO TO LONGVIEW REGIONAL less time, better tests and faster results. Our mother presented to the Emergency Department with acute altered mental status. While basic labs and a urine drug screen were obtained--and returned unremarkable--no imaging was performed. Despite her significant cognitive and behavioral changes, the team prematurely concluded her symptoms were psychiatric in nature and attempted to admit her directly to Oceans inpatient psych facility. As a family with medical knowledge, we were appalled. Altered mental status requires a thorough differential diagnosis, including--but certainly not limited to--UTI, metabolic derangements, intoxication, and **intracranial pathology.** The ED ruled out only the most superficial possibilities and astonishingly skipped one of the most critical elements of any altered mental status workup: brain imaging. We refused the psychiatric admission and sought care elsewhere. The new provider ordered imaging which revealed multiple brain masses, including a 14 mm lesion in the left frontal lobe. This finding explains her symptoms far more plausibly than the dismissive and lazy label of "psych." The fact that she was almost institutionalized without appropriate medical evaluation is outrageous. Her insurance--Medicare A/B with a supplemental plan--was not a limiting factor. This was not about resources. This was a gross failure of clinical judgment and basic diagnostic protocol. Had we trusted the ED's premature and reductive assessment, our mother would be in a psychiatric facility right now, receiving zero treatment for her actual diagnosis while her condition worsened. The consequences of this kind of negligence are catastrophic and unacceptable. read more

Do not come here if you are having an allergic reaction!! My fiancé and I went in for an allergic reaction they didn't even put the right thing on the paper they said it was a bug bite. It takes about 3 to 4 hours for my fiancé to start swelling and filling it. The doctor came in and looked at his hand and said there was nothing wrong pretty much telling him it is in your head, my fiancé is a very skin man so when he swells he swells his hand and arm is bigger then normal they gave him Benadryl and told him to go home and sleep it off, will not be coming back to the location. They are very rude and in professional, the nurse was amazing tho. read more

The hospital's definition of walking "is not bed ridden"; have not been able to validate this in a dictionary, encyclopedia, or google. After continuous coaching and explaining my grandmas condition they still insisted on trying to load her up in the car, at this point she fell and started bleeding out on her leg. I find the doctors to be very knowledgeable, but the problem is with the staff. The staff is set in their ways, and when you tell them something that's counter their script, they just double down. I had a nurse call me up because I had high liver enzymes, then she proceeded to tell me that I needed to exercise more, and when I stated to her that I was partially handicapped and couldn't really walk. She kept saying I need to exercise more. We went back-and-forth four times and I said what does partially handicapped mean to you in an aggravated, firm voice? She also talked about diet and I told her it was no problem with the diet, but again pushing a point that was not differing from her script is stonewalling. What happens next is the manager finally got on the phone and told me that I should not be acting like I did. Otherwise, they would can me as a patient. Two or three days later, when I was trying to rectify everything I found out I was a canned patient. I doubt the doctor knew anything of what really happened because I got along well with her. I later found out that week when I was out and about utilizing. motorized buggies at hardware stores that this is a fairly common occurrence. In other words you're told you're fat and you need to exercises change your eating patterns. When you tell them you're handicapped as 2 to 3 people told me that fact, then they treat you like a two year old and that you can't think at all. Extremely aggravating. read more

I deem you all uncaring unfit to treat anyone of color, due to insurance, repeated visits. Each time I went in it was for the same issue. Well today I find out I'm dealing with an large liver. Visit after visits I'm was sented home and told all my labs checked out fine. Now that's poor medical diagnosis and I'm facing possible liver cancer. My girlfriend was there for three days thinking it was a heart attack which they said. After being home for one day I went to check on her she had, had a stroke I seen all the signs called ambulance took her to Christus GS you took her it had been to long. Doctor called Mother Frances they air flighted her there. She had blood clot on brain did surgery she's now in rehab. Praise God for Mother Frances giving her a chance. I am so angry with you. All my family has had the best of care there even me but for you to turn someone down that was having a stroke is awful. It's not a insurance thing cause she has great insurance. My mom suffers from a mental illness. If she is given her mental medication then she stabilizes and is conversational, eats and sleeps properly. She was admitted to this hospital about two months ago and even though doctors had a record of her mental health issue they have not prescribed her mental medication...INSTEAD they let her suffer in mental anguish, put a feeding tube in her and try to get permission from me to not resuscitate her as they prepare her for hospice euthanasia. I probably saw my mom for this last time today. I walked into a miserably hot room with bright lights shining down on her to the point that she was traumatized and would not remove her hands from covering her eyes even when the lights were turned down. Her last thoughts will probably be through a broken mind that was denied medical relief as it tries to make sense of evil/incompetent doctors and idiotic television programming blaring from the corner of the room. New cardiology center: front desk intake are awesome. NP amd doctor was rude amd snitty. Got placed on an at home heart monitor. Told nurse that I sweat a lot that will not stay on. 3 days later, fell off, nurse called me to come amd see doctor. I went to the new hospital four street that would be my third visit! The paper was kind so that would keep me going back but today for some reason it a certain are in Melinda or whatever her name is she's in the wrong field working with people is not for her. The charge nurse is no better all of them are so disrespectful and treat you like a CHILD!!!!! They have no respect whatsoever! I Asked them for a warm cover! At the time that she was put my IV I'm my arm and she said she will bring it!!! NEVER DID I SEE A COVER IN TO I CLL TO THE FRONT Desk!!!! And then she came in my room without knocking threw the blanket at me and on the way out the door told me I did not leave my blood pressure cuff on and then slammed the door! The charge nurse did not do anything at all whatsoever! So I politely got up out of the bed and I live they was trying to give me some kind of medicine that I don't know anything about that I never had before and I would not let them do it and put me in a worse situation that I'm in now that was the whole reason why I want to the hospital! On the 10th when I went to the ER for the 2nd time in 5 days. The first time I was told to go by PCP to go. Because of aneurism behind my left knee. On the 5th they did a CT of body and saw the aneurism, I was sent home and told if the pain got worse to come back to the ER. On the 10th I did come back to the ER. Checked in and given my wrist band then called to this little room where they took my BP and O2 SAT. lady from admitting come in and I singed all the paperwork. At that time the DR stuck his head in and told me his name and he would be looking after me he left and I never saw him again. The RN come back in at just before 4AM took blood form then tell 6AM I did not see anyone no one checked if I was ok or dead. But by this time I was not a happy camper and I ask to see someone from the admin office was told no one was there and the shift supper was not able to see me. I said ok that I would call the admin office from home. My self and my uncle walked out. I will now show you what they put in my chart notes as saying that I refused to sign some paper work and that I did not seam to have anything wrong with my leg. I demanded to speak with an administrator and youre not one." This RN informed pt that the house supervisor is in the building but not the unit at this time. This RN explained to the pt that all he needed was a CT scan however the staff has been with critical patients and that the CT table has been occupied. This RN offered to speak with MD and CT to see how much longer it would be before the pts scan. Pt continued to become verbally aggressive with this RN because he is mad that no one had been in the room to check on him. This RN continued to apologize and explain that there were multiple emergent situations that the staff were busy involved in. Pt then stood up and left and stated "I will be calling your administrator when I get home." Pt ambulated out of the ED without assistance. Steady gait. AOx4. No obvious signs of distress noted. Dr Diamond and charge nurse aware. Pt refusing to sign AMA paperwork. So not impressed. My husband had an echo scheduled for early this morning and so we drove in from Tyler, as this system in Tyler had no appts for weeks. A very personable employee directed us to same day surgery, 2 stars for that, where we encountered a brusque, NON-personable employee at the desk who tells us his appt was canceled, apparently in error. We've moved to Tyler from Central Texas where our Baylor Scott and White system was not perfect, but generally excellent. Though we had heard the health care was good in Tyler, we are not finding that to be the case. My husband was given a young, uncaring M.D. for a primary who rushes through appts and whose staff drops the ball on appts. He had to call to remind them his echo needed to be ordered when days went by and we heard nothing. It took my husband's Heaton ophthalmologist to find his significant heart murmur, by the way. Then we get up early to drive over here in traffic and this happens. Beyond disappointed and irked. read more

Do not go here! Went in for some help and got nothing but an outrageously over priced bill. Had severe abdominal cramps and diarreha the last few before i went in was all blood. I did not get any medicinal help for the diarreha no medicinal help for the horrid cramps I had, they just ran a scan of the abdomen and did nothing else. In other words they did what they needed to so they could send an outrageous bill and NOTHING else. I went home with all the same problems I went in for with NO help! However they were most eager to charge me $550.00 for 1ml of the dye they inject for the scan, and you don't even want to know how much the rest is. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

We went here and it took forever to get me back. They gave me a dirty sheet to cover up with, covered in green stains. And not the PA nurse or X-ray tech said anything about it while we left it in plain sight were they set their papers at!!! The nurse sent off my urine samples and didn't even have the right name and bday on them! Not to mention my x Ray tech was COVERED in hickeys and had no idea what he was doing. read more

This hospital took me in and prepped me for neck surgery after THEY resheduled it four times and then told me that i didnt need neck surgery after i made my payment for the surgery. I asked for my money back and a month later they told me they put the money on old bills , which would be fine if i knew that i owed them. But then i got a bill for medicines and sedatives for the surgery in which they never performed. I told my insurance company (Blue Cross Blue Shield) that i never recieved anything including no surgery and that i contested the bill. Good Sheperd then reviewed the bill after i told them id sew them for insurance fraud and they dropped the added charges. They still took my 3,000 dollars and payed old er visits from my ex wife but at least that went to something instead of just billing me for absolutely nothing. Also dont get your m.r.i. there. They are the most expensive out of all of the local providers. If you dont believe me just get quotes. On December 24th an ambulance brought my husband via ambulance to the Christus Good Shepherd ER. With what we thought was a possible Kidney Stone. He was in great pain, the ER staff quickly ordered a number of tests and was able to diagnose the problem. I cannot begin to say how great the care was by Dr. Payne and nurse Courtney. They were professional understanding and simply outstanding! My husband is a disabled Army Vietnam Veteran and the care and respect they gave him was second to none. If you can't be there all the time don't leave an elderly or non verbal patient in their care. I found my relative laying in soiled bedding that caused a huge sore. They became dehydrated with kidney failure because no fluids given by i v. They also did not get them up after surgery as the doctor told me they would. My mother was nearly euthenized!!! She entered due to mental health issues and nearly left in a casket. They stated since she wasnt eating that they suggested expedited hospice! Her mouth was covered in scum and dried blood inside and they where constantly asking me to deny the right to resuscitate her until I showed up in person. I made it clear she was to be treated instead. Suddenly she was on her way to recovery and then cleaned properly. I have no respect for physicians that side eagerly with death. She has been there for two months yet still has not been given her proper mental health medications. The psychiatric Dr. Has yet to respond at all to at least half a dozen inquiries. Without her meds she is highly depressed and gives up on life. It appears thats exactly what they want. Beware, monitor your loved ones closely if they end up in this horrible place. We have resulted to legal action against this elderly abuse/death row. read more

Avoid if at all possible. It takes forever to get an order to go through that other doctors put in. We have waited 3 weeks for them to call us for the appointment for a test our daughter needs done. She has been experiencing chest pains and her pediatrician put in an order through them to have a specific test run. After our pediatrician's office and ourselves kept getting the run around with them, they finally called us for the appointment 3 weeks later. This is not acceptable! We also recently had to visit the ER in the North Park of Longview for our son. This was a horrible experience. The PA and doctor that worked that night were very unprofessional and seemed to make diagnoses in the first 5 minutes of seeing him. It seemed they wanted to come up with a quick answer to get you out of there without taking time to look over my child. It felt really rushed and they were not personable at all!
