My wife had a stay here and I was there with my son today. It was the same high level of service with added amenities. Jennifer processed us in and it was quick and easy. Adysson got us back quickly. Jeremy was knowledgeable and answered all concerns. Madison shared a personal story that was very helpful. Rachel took us through discharge, so of course we were happiest to see her. :-) Having been to many local facilities both civilian and VA, this place is the best in my opinion.

Our mother presented to the Emergency Department with acute altered mental status. While basic labs…read moreand a urine drug screen were obtained--and returned unremarkable--no imaging was performed. Despite her significant cognitive and behavioral changes, the team prematurely concluded her symptoms were psychiatric in nature and attempted to admit her directly to Oceans inpatient psych facility. As a family with medical knowledge, we were appalled. Altered mental status requires a thorough differential diagnosis, including--but certainly not limited to--UTI, metabolic derangements, intoxication, and **intracranial pathology.** The ED ruled out only the most superficial possibilities and astonishingly skipped one of the most critical elements of any altered mental status workup: brain imaging. We refused the psychiatric admission and sought care elsewhere. The new provider ordered imaging which revealed multiple brain masses, including a 14 mm lesion in the left frontal lobe. This finding explains her symptoms far more plausibly than the dismissive and lazy label of "psych." The fact that she was almost institutionalized without appropriate medical evaluation is outrageous. Her insurance--Medicare A/B with a supplemental plan--was not a limiting factor. This was not about resources. This was a gross failure of clinical judgment and basic diagnostic protocol. Had we trusted the ED's premature and reductive assessment, our mother would be in a psychiatric facility right now, receiving zero treatment for her actual diagnosis while her condition worsened. The consequences of this kind of negligence are catastrophic and unacceptable.

Even though I live in Texarkana, I felt Longview Regional would give me the best care and boy did they ever! From the super sweet and friendly receptionist at the same day surgery desk, to the nurse who called me back to do my vitals named Sherry, then I had nurses prep me, talk to me and explained everything every step of the way. Once I was in recovery I couldn't really see the nurse taking care of me but her name was Heather. She was so so sweet! She took excellent care of me. Then for my post surgery I met Traci and Amanda. These two ladies were everything to me! They made me feel comfortable, helped me when I had to use the bathroom, gave me something to drink and even wheeled me out to my husband and helped me get in the car. I really hope this reaches them and their supervisor. These ladies were the absolute best! I can't forget the doctor that made all of this happen Dr. Newlin. Christus St Michael in Texarkana misdiagnosed me TWICE it took Dr. Newlin one time to see me, perform a biopsy and then surgery. He is a gem! Again thank you Longview Regional Medical Center for everything!

CHRISTUS Good Shepherd in Longview, Texas failed me at my most vulnerable. I came in by ambulance…read morefrom a domestic violence shelter with severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dangerously low heart rate, low blood pressure, dehydration, and pain near a prior gunshot wound to my head. I had no family with me and nobody there to advocate for me. While I was weak and actively vomiting in the ER, a nurse forcibly held my head down for several minutes. I tried to jerk away because I felt pressure and pain around the bullet wound on my head, but she tightened her grip. The second time I tried to pull away, she moved her hand lower toward the bottom of my head and neck and continued restraining me until I finally pulled away. Then, after my body gave out from the illness and I had diarrhea, another nurse told me that "45 years old is too old to be shitting on yourself." I came to the hospital because I was vomiting and having gastrointestinal distress. Instead of receiving dignity, safety, and compassion, I was physically handled, humiliated, and degraded while sick, alone, and vulnerable. When I requested a supervisor, the house supervisor refused to require an apology and gave excuses about contractors and nurses being straight out of nursing school. A new graduate badge or contractor status does not excuse abusive treatment of a patient. This violated my patient rights under 42 CFR § 482.13, including the right to care in a safe setting, the right to be free from abuse and harassment, the right to be free from improper restraint, and the right to have grievances properly addressed. It violated Texas Administrative Code § 217.12 regarding unprofessional nursing conduct, unsafe practice, and conduct likely to injure or harm a patient. The physical force used against me falls under Texas Penal Code § 22.01 regarding assault and offensive physical contact. This was not healthcare. This was abuse inside a hospital room. I have contacted law enforcement, and Longview police have assured me the names of these nurses will be in the report. I will pursue this through the hospital grievance process, the Texas Board of Nursing, and state and federal healthcare complaint channels as well as the judicial system. This is not the first time these nurses have been abusive because they were too comfortable disrespecting me the entire time. I wasn't the first, but I'm going to spend the next year or two making sure I'm one of the last. I will see you in court.

The main issue arose when they attempted to put me in a transport wheelchair. I was fine am fine laying prone on my left side. It's sitting standing or rolling to or from or with my right hip which was discussed with the nurse who wanted to consult the Dr again. She called for help to get me back into the bed and a short white wiman with dark hair came along with a younger lady I assume cnas or other nurses and the short dark haired woman proceeded to insist I go home rather than speak to the doctor again. She did not ask my issue but she did ask my nurse, in front of my face if this story was for real. As if I and the other nurse were kidding or lying for whatever reason. What is not mentioned also is the manner in which I was then rushed into the chair and out of the. Building. At the car the dark haired bits continued to tell me to hurry up as I crawled into the car with my face into the seat unable to manipulate my hip into the seat. My nurse continually expressed concern while I sobbed in pain and humiliation and the bits continued treating me as if I had some other reason for being at the hospital other than to receive actual medical help. Dr walker im positive was never notified of my full condition which I myself hadn't demonstrated or even truly known about for myself until I tried to move with that hip. I am still humiliated and still having debilitating pain. I ended up in the floor that night and calling the fire department to help me by lifting me onto the bed. Unfortunately I didn't die so lawyers aren't interested in making a case for me. If I could do it all over again I would make sure my phone was fully charged and recording as it was it was dead. Ps. They had given me a shot which helped with my normal pain but whenever my hip was applied pressure whether shifting standing or turning it was like there was no meds on board. Nothing stops it. reading my discharge summary on when to go to the er all of my symptoms to date are the same and tick each one on the list. I am laying in my bed right now and still hurting. still humiliated with the treatment of that woman and angry and disappointed with CGS in having such a person on their staff.

She was also very nurturing and compassionate and she cared for me as if i were her only patient. His name is Dr. Freimer and with the exception of a couple of other doctor's ive seen there, he is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! He was so attentive and compassionate. He took the time to actually listen to me and then did what he felt was best for my care while accepting my input. He was thorough and extremely kind and I am so thankful that he was the doctor who was there that day. He restored my faith in believing that great doctor's who actually listen AND give the appropriate individual care still exist. So THANK YOU DR. FREIMER for being exactly who you are!
