My first time having Croatian food and it was really good! I did not know what to expect since I know nothing about the country. But I loved trying the Croatian dish called One and One. My plate consisted of a grilled pork skewer with rice, a sausage, fries, onions, and 2 sauces - one red and one white. Everything was delicious! And it's filling! I was very happy with my choice of food. I also ordered a small Augustiner beer which I believe is half of a half liter lol! Our male waiter was soo friendly! I didn't get his name but he's from Ethiopia and he helped my group and I when it came to ordering food and recommendations. I am definitely going to try other Croatian foods. read more

Super busy! But we got a table right away and without a reservation. The menu has so many things good things on it, so picking one thing is really hard. We ordered the special coleslaw (with bacon!) and the mixed platters. It took some time for the food to arrive, but not too long. The salad was great, there is definitely a difference between the German coleslaw and theirs. We had one small and one big plate of it. The big plate was 1 pound of salad! After that we got our main dishes. Soooo good. Remembered me of my childhood days. A huge plate, with freshly cooked food. Sausages, skewers, chicken, beef, pork, Ayvar, fries, slaw, sour cream,... It was delicious, and way too much! All of us enjoyed the meal! Great atmosphere, brewery-like. The location is very convenient (3 minutes from Marienplatz), and the prices are awesome. Original "Wiener Schnitzel", even small portion is excellent choice for the dinner. I had sauté potatoes with veal schnitzel. Delicious meal, appropriate serving size and excellent service. We ducked into this charming restaurant serendipitously on Saturday afternoon; peckish and without specific plans, I opened Yelp on my phone and searched "nearby"; it turned out we were standing on Opatija's doorstep. I'd never had Croatian food, so I let my husband lead me toward the Cevapcici - a platter of sort of "skinless sausages" with rice, raw onions, and two sauces. It was delicious and the portions were truly huge for the price. We shared a small plate of Krautsalat mit Speck as a starter, and my husband had a huge platter of various grilled meets - the "Half & Half". Our server sometimes took awhile to come around, but only because he was busy with the large room - and we were in no rush. He suggested substitutions while we ordered, which is always a nice touch: with no change in price we could select from a few different options. We waddled away from Opatija several pounds heavier, and likely to return; I also forgot my gloves at our booth & they were waiting for me when we stopped by a few hours later... not a bad way to end a tasty and satisfying meal! read more

I didn't have a great experience here, but we were in a large group with a set menu so that could be why. the restaurant was packed so maybe some of the other options are good. The location is close to the center and easy to find around the touristy areas. My friend and I each had a veggie pizza and it was absolutely flavorless. We kept giving it a chance and trying to add cheese, salt, anything but it wouldn't help. Unfortunately, i have had better pizzas from the freezer section that only cost $1. I would say don't come here when it is too busy or even if you are a vegetarian at all as there are no good options here. read more

Very delicious! Highly recommend! It is a small restaurant though so just be aware of sharing elbow space. Also would be best to make a reservation if possible. They have food for everyone. I was not impressed with this restaurant, but let's start with the good: The location is easy to walk to from some main touristy areas. The restaurant looks nice and they are able to accommodate large groups. Now the not so good: their salad and pizza (which is what I had for dinner). The pizza was flavorless. Like, impressively so. I discovered this place recently and I like it for 4 reasons which in no particular (ahem) order are: The prices are reasonable. No, scratch thatthey are bloody cheap, 5.90EUR for a plate full of meat in central Munich. The quality of the food is very good, and the service is very fast and efficient. The manageress has the most amazing thigh length boots which seem to do the trick of filling the place upok, maybe they are coming for the food, but I had to mention it. When I walk into this place, I bring the average age down by about 20 years. An older lunchtime clientele, but nevertheless it is quite a lively restaurant and worth a visit if you are in this part of town. read more

We were here for lunch after visiting the city center in Munich. It's medium-sized centrally-located restaurant offering German and Italian dishes. Like anywhere else in Munich, they offer a great variety of beers and delicious sausages. I tried the mixed sausages dish, my fiend tried the steak. Both tasted great and the price was very reasonable. read more

Technically this supposed to be Mediterranean but they have a little bit of everything on it including some Italian and German dishes. I had a sausage plate with a few grilled wurst with some curry type dipping sauces and a mountain of french fries. Overall everything was good but somewhat average. read more

I had dinner here in our visit to Munich. Our friend took us here and said Opatija has very good review on the internet. When we got here it seems like one busy restaurant, it's packed, but there's no waiting list of sort so I got to sit right away. Their speciality I believe is Bavarian, though they also offers some italian menu like pizza & pasta. We ordered Mix Hot Dog Grill menu, and it was delicious, the portion is quite big for asian stomach like us, so me & my husband share the plate. Our friend ordered chicken snichtzel, and he said it was so so, I guess the best snichtzel is the pork ones. The only down side is that is so hard to find and call the waiters since the restaurant is full but I only see maybe 2 waiters for the whole resto. But food came in not long after we ordered tho, so I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good bavarian meals with good ambience restaurant. read more

I've been to opatija a few times and I really enjoy the food there. The portion sizes are massive and there is never a very long wait till the dishes are served. I particularly enjoyed the schnitzel with pommes and also the Putengeschnetzeltes (i thikn its called) with spätzle and a really tasty mushroom sauce. I like this restaurant, i have been here quite few times. The food is good and they do big portions. The staff is generally friendly in their own way, the service is quick and the price more then reasonable. unfortunately yesterday was our last visit there, the waiter knocked the drinks all over us, say he was sorry asked to bring the clothes in that they would have washed them (so not only i had the inconvenience of going home completely soak and smelly of beer but i should have wasted even more time in going back there to bring and collect my clothes) and when we asked for the bill they did not even give us the drinks for free. I think that was very poor customer service, accidents happen, but at least they could make some small gesture and give us the drinks for free, so we paid the full amount including tip and went home stinking of beer. Went here last night because it was close to our hotel and because it had pretty good Yelp reviews. I ordered the pizza - it was terrible. No flavor to the sauce and the dough tasted like cardboard. My money would have been better spent on a frozen pizza from the store. My boyfriend ordered a Bavarian dish with samplings of sausage (which he said was good), chicken, hamburger and steak. He said everything other than the sausage was just so so. Not sure how this place has such high Yelp reviews...service was also terrible. We had to take silverware from the table next to us because our server was no where to be found. The one time he did stop by to take our empty tea cups, he didn't ask how everything was or even offer to refill the hot water. Long story short, terrible food and terrible service.
