Drink special at the bar

Needing to kill a few hours before dinner, our party of four opted to check out the bar at the Samoset Resort. There was an ulterior motive - my friends are interested in using the Samoset for their wedding reception. The bar area is nice, old school, with marble countertops and comfortable bar stools. Ditto for Thomas, bartender extraordinaire, who expertly mixed our adult libations and held forth on a variety of topics as we peppered him with questions. And the views of the grounds are amazing. We ordered one of their GF pizzas as a snack, with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil -- and it was delicious. Perfect with our sparkling Cubans, the specialty cocktail of the day.

Again we checked in yesterday for our first visit here and have been to other highly rated resorts such as The Castle Hill Inn in Newport and Ocean House in Watch Hill, both in Rhode Island. We are pleasantly surprised considering it is the COVID-19 pandemic and staffing shortages are all over our country. Shirley at the front desk and Dave the Engineer went out of their way to assist us yesterday while checking in and educate us on the area and happenings We will definitely return to this fantastic property which is a Gold Crown with the RCI timeshare network!

Spent a week at the Samoset as a second honeymoon. Overall, very good. Not sure it was worth the price, but very good. We booked a hot tub suite with a view of the ocean. That was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable. Bathroom is big enough to have a party in. Hot tub was clean and well maintained. The staff was great. Everyone was friendly, happy to be there. This resort, while it claims other attractions, is mostly for golfers. If you like golf, awesome. They offer many other lawn activities, but most are hardly used. We're never did find the croquet court (which was a selling point for my wife.) The bad stuff: Resort is pricey, all the way around. Because of the pandemic, we ordered room service a lot. This was a big disappointment. When you think "Fancy hotel room service" you kind of expect, say, plates. Maybe real flatware. Not cardboard takeout containers and little single serve packets of plastic cutlery served in a paper bag. Seriously, I want a rolling cart with stainless steel food lids! But seriously, those are pretty minor things. We really enjoyed our stay, the food was very good, the room was perfect. The hike out to the lighthouse was worth the time, and the resort is beautiful. If you can afford it, worth it. All told, Samoset resort gets a very good 4 stars.

We a beautiful gem in our own backyard. We spent a lovely anniversary weekend at this amazing seaside oasis. I had a few bumps in the road but with the Grace a style of a high end resort they made it a pleasant stay by accommodating our needs admitting their missed opportunity to shine and rectifying those missed opportunities . We hesitated to vacation during Covid out of causation for our health. You made us want to come back. You gave us a since of trust that you follow your protocol that we went to the spa for a post pandemic pedicure. You also went above and beyond to ship me my left coat. Thanks for being a shinning example of opulence and grace under extraordinary circumstance Covid.

I got to play here a couple years ago while on vacation and absolutely loved it. I didn't stay at the resort, but my family dropped me off to play a round while they went to a couple local breweries and hung out by the water. Samoset is so beautiful and the course remains one of my favorites that I've played in my life. Everyone was really friendly and the holes following along the water with the rugged Maine coastline made the course feel like the Atlantic version of a course like Pebble Beach. Of anyone is vacationing near the area, I highly recommend bringing your golf clubs and playing this course!

I cannot express how memorable this experience will be. The ambiance, rooms views and everything about the place is awesome. I say this having visited at the end of season. We played goldfish, walked the breakwater, ate, sat by the fire. J says the bed is better than ours at home. LOL also I promise no one can see in the room during daytime so enjoy an intimate moment with the sounds of the ocean. Just saying it's worth the risk. I visited this place for a conference in 2007 and vowed to come back. Many trials and tribulations later and I finally made it back. The hotel restaurant is worth the stay and you won't be disappointed!

Boy, what a fantastic time I had at the Samoset Resort during a conference. When I arrived on Sunday to check in I was immediately greeted at the desk and told that the resort was providing me an upgrade to a room with a waterfront view and what a view it was. The room itself was a corner room and was awesome. I had a king size bed with a couch in a sitting area with a microwave, mini fridge and a large Samsung TV. I definitely would recommend this resort if you are in the area.

We wanted to just love this place, but there were enough little problems to only rate it 3 stars…read more Parking is a HUGE problem. There are a limited amount of spaces in front with zero room to maneuver your car to fit in a space. There is a public lot right next door for a fee and hopefully you'll get a space. We were in the Waterfront King Suite. The room was lovely and had a great view!! However, getting hot water was inconsistent. We had noisy neighbors who we could hear using the hairdryer at 6:42am, and shouting down the hall and slamming their door at 7:30am. At 10:45pm there were sounds like chairs being dragged over hardwood for about 30 minutes. They do give you an opportunity to order breakfast that is delivered to your room and a time you specify. However, both days I had rancid milk for my coffee. I wrote a note to the staff after the first morning, and they served spoiled milk to me again on the second morning!! The food was also vastly under seasoned. I ordered the quinoa bowl both days and got two totally different dishes. And, my wife's potatoes were completely burnt. So for the money we spent on the room, I cannot recommend this place due to parking, noise, and food quality.

This hotel did not live up to its online reputation. Maybe they have staffing challenges in this…read morepart of the world...but who doesn't? Maybe pay more to folks. First off, the front desk would go 15-30 minutes without being staffed. This made it particularly difficult when we needed something - I sat across from the desk for 15 minutes at one point - but that's not enough to warrant a negative review. In fact, I waited this morning to convey this message in person, but the only people in the lobby were customers waiting for help. What does warrant a review is our breakfast foul up. This may sound like a minor issue, however in the world of customer service it absolutely is not. Here's what happened: the hotel provides breakfast in the room. We had two rooms. My daughter mistakenly put my room number on her breakfast card, so they delivered both breakfasts to my room. Only they didn't deliver both COMPLETE breakfasts - they only delivered a portion of the breakfasts. When we inquired about the mixup, we were shown our cards - no apology, only a hint of "here's where the fault lies, and it's with you." However, no one bothered to ask us before delivering an incomplete breakfast as to whether this was actually what we wanted (and bear in mind, this is not a big hotel). After that, there were a series of further mixups before staff actually sorted things out and got complete breakfasts to our rooms. I don't have a big problem with the mixup. I do have a problem with the reaction and the confused resolution. However, the blame here is not on the staff: it's on ownership. It's very clear that at critical points of the day, the hotel has a real staffing issue. It's also clear that ownership hasn't adequately trained staff on "Customer Service 101." The poor worker was clearly frazzled and could use some training and some help. As a result, this hotel did not earn the premium it charges.
