Small place, stuffy, dirty and without menu. Very simple food, without seasoning, rice with acorns. Never worth the amount requested! First and last time I come here! I do not recommend!!! read more

They offer gluten free options but don't listen when you order. I've been here twice, explicitly asking for this gluten free options and both times they have not made them gluten free. I have to go back after receiving my order and wait for them to make it ask they promised. I can't have any sort of gluten due to celiac disease and it is disappointing to see a place that offers it but does not follow through for those that actually cannot have gluten. read more

Just had dinner here yesterday.... And I liked it better!! (Maybe because I was hungrier :-) I ordered the chicken again to see if it would be better - and it was! I didn't like the avocado puree more, but the seasoning on the chicken was superior to last time. And I'd like to change my view on these rice triangles, maybe they were just on an off-day when we came there last. They are really good! Keep it going Oori Rice Triangles!!!! read more

Oori Triangles - Japanese Near Me - Albany, California

Cute, reasonable priced, and delicious! No free parking but there's plenty of meters.

Really disappointed after all of the glowing reviews. I came here on Halloween and ordered the Tuna, Eel, Spicy Pork, and Spicy Shrimp triangles. First and foremost, the Tuna was unpalatable. It is a tuna salad, heavy on the mayo ('aioli'), and tasted of old, canned tuna. Did not taste fresh and I would definitely recommend that it is avoided. The spicy shrimp were OK, but nothing special. The spicy pork was similarly just OK. The only saving grace was the eel (unagi), which is the only type I would order again if I came here. The concept is cute, but I was not impressed with the flavors and would rate the food below average. The cashier was nice, so the poor score is only a reflection of the food quality. read more

We were heartbroken when the Middle Eastern cafe which had been at this location for years closed. But we are delighted with Oori. This is simply scrumptious food! Well run, reasonably priced, delicious and innovative. A great addition to the neighborhood. And now friends from other places who have tried it make sure to take the Albany exit so they can swing by and pick up some great food that is easy to eat when you are on the go. read more

My girlfriend and I love this place! The triangles taste amazing (I love the chicken and short rib versions the most) and are perfectly portioned and priced. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick delicious snack or even a full meal. read more

YUMMY! I went here twice in several days while visiting the area. I wish there was one in Kansas! read more

Good, tasty Korean diner food. The short rib plate consisted of minced galbi cooked in sweet marinade , and having some caramelized remains providing that extra chewiness that's hard to resist. The rice triangles wrapped in seaweed were tasty brief bits. No public bathroom was bothersome. Not a bad treat. read more

Please ignore the, at times, almost hostile service and enjoy the excellent and reasonably priced food. It's worth putting up with the less than stellar counter service read more

I love this place and it's glorious rice triangles. I stop by often because they are delicious and filling, and they always come out quickly. Super convenient, nice people and complimentary tea makes this place my go-to when I need a quick pick-me-up when I'm working nearby. read more

Rice triangles tasted pretty good. They're a bit pricey for the amount of food provided though read more

Love stopping by here to grab a few triangles in the way home. Very fast service. Fresh food and a good atmosphere. Salmon triangles are my fave. read more

Love you this place. Cheap, clean, flavorful food -- I especially love their saucy tofu onigiri! You can take anyone here, kids, your grandma, your boss -- try it! read more

If you like onigiri and tasty marinated meats, you'll love this. I tried the spicy pork and short ribs which were super flavorful, great consistency. The rice and nori is done right, make sure to top it off with soy sauce, sriracha and togarashi. read more

I had these little rice triangles of goodness at the yelp fright night I attended in Oakland and what can I say than I still get cravings for these things. For some reason, I didn't have high expectations, because all the other places that have onigiri haven't been up to par but these were so delicious and had some spice but not to spicy. I had the crab and shrimp one, so good. My friend who had the tuna one could not stop raving about it the whole night. I am going to take a road trip to Albany just for these delicious, savory triangles. read more

Really generous and yummy fillings. Traditionally, onigiris (rice triangles) have little filling and are wrapped all around in rice. In a welcome way, these are not traditional. We got some for a picnic and they were great. Recommend eating them right away because the seaweed gets soggy really quickly. Also recommend getting them to go since the space there doesn't look super comfy, even if it looks clean and efficient. Liked all the fillings, especially the beef short ribs and crab (in mayo). read more

Great for a quick snack. I had the salmon and unagi rice triangle. I preferred the salmon over the unagi due to the volume of filling. I am not 100% convinced yet. I love these and can't quite pinpoint what it is that is different about these from others I have tried. I will try it one more time and reassess. I am glad to have this place in the neighborhood. read more

I love their chicken, tofu and short rib. My hubby loves their spicy pork. The triangles are fun to eat but if you want a hearty meal, get a plate. read more

Filling rice balls with lots of content, not too salty, super super nice servers, free hot tea, free wifi from the albany art gallery across the street, student discounts, meat that is cooked perfectly, so many different kinds of meat, literally the best thing ever. read more

Affordable, healthy and so delicious. I originally bought the short rib and grilled salmon onigiri and loved it so much I bought a third which was crab. So savory and scrumptious! read more

My favorites are the crab and salmon. In triangle or plate form. I have a thing for undercooked shrimp (don't like it) so I avoid the spicy shrimp. The other things are tasty, but I'm so darn picky about my meat-- it has to be gristle-less and fatty bit-less. Most people are not that picky and I'm sure it's wonderful for them. My only complaint is the TV. A large TV is always on. There's nothing objectionable on it, but my toddler can't take his eyes off of it. We try not to do dinner with screens, so we sit outside when we can, but it gets awfully windy out there. read more

This place is AMAZING and highly recommended. Unlike most Omusubi places they are generous with their portions and come fully loaded with your choice of stuffing. They have a variety of options my favorite being Korean BBQ, Spicy Pork, and double stuffed Uri! You must try the Kimchi as well! read more

Three triangles are the bomb! Spicy ahi, spicy pork, and teriyaki chicken. The chicken was just ok. The other two were really good. They are quick. The edamame was toasted, which gives it a different flavor from your typical edamame. Yum. read more

Very inexpensive and fun place to eat. Nothing like it in the surrounding area. Cool concept to say the least. Yummy.

Incredible food and wonderful service. This place is a staple in my "eating out" diet-- I only wish they were open on Sundays, but I understand they need a day off too ;) Highly recommend the Grilled Salmon, Spicy Shrimp, Unagi, and Tofu triangles! Thanks Oori, you're great!! read more

Oh man so glad I tried this place out - its like delicious food truck food without the truck. Yeah I was alittle bummed when Sophia's left, but after a couple experiences here I have realized this place is waaay better. I've already tried most of the menu and baby its all good. Great place if you're in the mood for Japanese/Korean fusion. read more

I've eaten here a few times and it's always been pretty good. My favorites are the salmon and short rib. I prefer the rice plates since it comes with edamame and ginger. It also comes with lots of rice. The rice triangles are $3 each but that adds up. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I bought a groupon, and I tried the salmon, eel and short rib. Rice, tapas, and seaweed--what's not to love? My order was ready quickly and the service was excellent. Definitely will be back to fulfill my rice ball cravings. read more

What a great little place! Perfect food. The staff is nice, the place is clean and this is the perfect simple Japanese style food.

This place offers the perfect snack in the shape of rice triangles. I love the grilled salmon triangle. I think it's affordable and the service is so quick! Plus, if you order to-go, they will even wrap all the seaweed in plastic wrap so that it doesn't get soggy by the time you eat it. You just unwrap the plastic, and then wrap the seaweed around your rice triangle when you are ready to eat. Perfect! read more

These are fantastic. Good quality food, balanced ingredients, no skimping on meat, great value. I get these regularly

LOVE THE RICE TRIANGLES HERE. My favorite are the spicy shrimp. High recommend. Not once since I've been going have I had to wait in line, and they are very quick to have them ready. read more

This is the healthiest most delicious most economical choice for lunch or dinner on Solano Ave or all of the East Bay for that matter!!!! The owner is always part of the staff who are all friendly and efficient ! The long lines move very quickly!!! My favorite is the salmon triangle with brown rice (only 4 weight watchers points each) but every single thing on the menu is delicious! Free hot tea! read more

Yum, yum, yum is right. This is my first experience with sushi triangles. I had the salmon rice triangle and it was delicious. I will certainly be trekking across town again for these. Please come to Rockridge! read more

My high school daughter took me here to try one of her favorite lunch spots. Now I understand why! The shop is small and clean. They do a brisk takeout business in addition to 4 tables to eat in, I noticed some tables outside, but it was dark at dinner time. Food is fresh and tasty. 2 triangles is a decent meal, 3 if you are hungry, they throw in a side of edamame if you order 3. I like the spicy shrimp, and the tofu, my daughter loves the salmon and my husband goes for the short ribs. Free tea and water while you wait, TV had the game on which was good for husband. Reasonable prices and they have a lunchtime student special, 2 for $5 for most items. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I'm hooked! Tried this place for the first time today and everything was delicious. Can't wait to come back. Spicy shrimp was fresh and tasty, not too spicy, I usually add siracha to everything. Chicken teriyaki was flavorful and not too sweet. Staff was pleasant and helpful since I'd never been there before, he took his time to explain and show me what the triangles were. Definitely worth trying! read more

The food was reasonable and the price was okay. It was very quick and the service was good. However, it wasn't exceptional. If i'm in the area and need a quick and go, then it's excellent. Otherwise, other spots in area are cool. read more
