The rice to protein ratio here is amazing. They make it so nice and it smells so delicious whether you eat them warm or cold. On top of everything, the best thing is the pricing. Each is priced around $2 to $3 which is just a little more than the ones you find premade at a Japanese market. And they cook it here for you!!! Order 3 or more and you get a free side of edamame and ginger. I ended up ordering 7 and spent around $23. These rice triangles are served in a darling storefront, perfect for a casual snack. The proportion can lean a tad bit rice-heavy in some orders (i.e. happened to my salmon, but not to my short-ribs triangle), but the seasoning, textures, and flavors are all pretty good. The short ribs were so well marinated, and when you enjoy right when it's still warm, it is absolutely delightful. You can always add more condiments/sauces from their in-store selection against the wall. The staff are efficient and friendly, nothing to complain about here. I have been wanting to try Oori Rice Triangles for a while now. I stopped by in the afternoon on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy. I ordered and received my food in less than 5 minutes which was amazing. The food was very tasty, my husband & I enjoyed three triangles of Spicy tuna and Salmon and a large order of Beef short ribs over rice. Great place for a quick affordable lunch. Good marinades for meats. One time I ordered a short rib rice triangle and they cooked it FRESH! I got the spicy pork and it was made fresh! I have been ordering the salmon and tuna triangles for awhile now. Kinda disappointed recently that twice I have been there, ordered to go, opened up the container only to find my triangles had little amounts of rice in it that it looked like a flat pancake! I noticed the ones people had while dining in we're nice and plump. Hmm...could they be skimping on the "to go people"? One time I could live with it but twice?? I really like this place, the rice triangles are very tasty and the meat plate portions are generous. The only downsides are that the pork and short rib meat quality can vary a bit and the middle aged guy who always seems to be there (manager?) is grumpy and unpleasant to deal with. So much better than those pre-made ones you get at the Berkeley Bowl! These have a generous filling to rice ratio, rice is cooked and seasoned perfectly, and choice of fillings is very good. I had the unagi and the spicy shrimp and both were delicious. Honestly it was difficult to choose, so I will have to go back soon. Staff is cheerful and friendly, and orders come out very quickly so they were doing a strong take out business while I was there. I recently went to a Yelp event, in which Oori was a vendor. I had one and instantly became hooked wanting to try more of these delicious little sushi pockets! I was happy to find that the restaurant is located on Solano not too far away from where I live! It's kind of hard to find because the restaurant is fairly small. I ordrered the spicy pork, short ribs, and shrimp rice triangles. The prices are great! About $3 for each rice triangle. I didn't have to wait very long either. I loved the spicy pork! There was so much flavor packed in. It's great with Sriracha too, not that it needs it, but it gives it a nice spicy kick if you're a spicy food lover like me. The short ribs wasn't bad. However, I found myself wanting a little more flavor. It almost felt like it was missing a little bit of something. Lastly, I was a little disappointed to find that the shrimp rice triangle was predominately shrimp paste. It was overwhelmingly fishy for my taste. All in all, great place! I love the portions! They're the perfect bite and its nice because you can try multiple things. I would recommend ordering two. Three was pretty filling. Again, the prices are great and there's lots of different options for triangles. I believe there were some plates as well. I'm looking forward to try some more very soon! read more

It is a small place with not too much room for large parties to sit down, but definitely a place friendly for grab and go or if you want to sit down with one or two other people. Rice triangle, almost didn't eat anything at this place. Told her I didn't want the Miso soup because they didn't have any tofu. Guess what, she made the mistake and tried to tell me that she already rang it up. I almost told her off, but since I was with my wife and my kids I decided not to. I had the Korean beef ,spicy shrimp they delicious. So I order another shrimp and beef. They didn't have any shrimp left,so I exchanged with the crab. Nice flavor on the crab. Korean and Japanese fusion at its best. This place reminds me of Onigilly in SF except it's better! Unlike Onigilly in SF where everything is already pre-made and they just assemble the onigiri together when you order, this place actually has chefs in the back cooking the filling after you place your order, so it's pretty much guaranteed to be freshly made to order. I got their unagi and spicy shrimp and both are very good! (Sadly no pictures since I devoured them too fast) I would say I like the spicy shrimp the most since they didn't skimp out on the chunks of shrimp meat and the flavors were great! I also liked how their seaweed is a crunchy as well if you eat it fast enough. Can't wait to come back and try their other flavors like their grill salmon! Keep it up! read more

We particularly liked the shortrib plate, the short rib, teriyaki chicken and the unagi triangles. My favorite is the chicken triangles. The spicy tofu, ume, crab, tuna and salmon were ok. Will try more plate options too in the future. Greeted by friendly, patient staff while we newbies were trying to figure out what we wanted. Service fast. Food yummy. Wish I knew about the student discount. No groupon can cover when the boys tag along. Considered downgrading to 4 stars. Decor could use a little work. Didn't know about this place until seeing it on Groupon. Ordered Grilled Salmon, Unagi, and Short Rib Rice Triangles with the deal and the order came with a side of pickled ginger and edamame. Other than the unagi, each rice triangle is filled with chucks of salmon/short ribs. I like both the salmon and unagi flavors but not the short rib. The meat was just a bit too chewy so that each bite take more effort. I would just stick with seafood rice triangles or something tenderer next time. I purchased 3 spicy ahi tuna triangles, with which they include a side of edamame. I love edamame so that's what what sold me. The triangles were pretty stuffed, with a decent amount of protein inside. One thing I will say that was a bit off was the seaweed paper, it was pretty chewy and tough. I've had better. But the flavor was good on the triangles overall. The edamame was shelled and only a small portion, about 10 beans, were included. I would opt out of getting the included portion next time, for the simple reason that 3 triangles was extremely filling with all the rice. I would have been ok with 1, maybe 2, and a full side of edamame. Nice that they include free tea in mini cups and a self serve ice water station. read more

Perfect for a light lunch! My favorites are the salmon and spicy pork flavored ones. The crab/tuna/shrimp ones are good too, but can be a little mayo-full. All the meat is cooked well and pack a punch of flavor. I usually opt to get the brown rice to pretend to be healthy. I don't think any of the options are over 4 dollars. If you buy three, you get a side of edamame. Plus with some free tea! You really can't beat this deal if you want to do something different for a weekday lunch or a casual weekend meal.
