I found Ooolala Toffee through a Periscope group and decided to make a purchase. My hubby was in need of 10 gifts for his holiday office party but didn't want to do the usual gift cards. When I stumbled upon the discussion of Ooolala Toffee and the Periscope group host verified that the Toffee was excellent, I visited the online store and reviewed the options. There were several to choose from and I was even allowed to specify delivery dates in the order. This ensured that I would receive the Toffee in time for hubby's office party. There were several payment options which is 'golden' for the marketplace consumer. I made the purchase and was contacted immediately by the biz owner, Stephenee. She thanked me for my patronage and verified the "need by" date. My order was personally delivered because the owner has family that lives very close to me. I was able to meet her in person as she presented my boxes of festively wrapped toffee. Did I mention she added a sample for me to taste? Fantastic business and delicious toffee.

A box of awesomeness. Seriously!! Run don't walk to your computer to get some. Now!!!!

I don't know why I took so long to try Noon since it's walking distance from me!…read more I know we have a lot of options when it comes to treats in the South Bay Area but Korean bingsoo is in a class of its own. For me, regular shaved ice usually lacks enough syrup or the ice is too hard. I'm such a wuss, I know, but I hate feeling like I overpaid for a cup of ice. It has been brutally hot and today seemed like a great day to have some shaved ice. The cafe is located in a Korean plaza on Western and 154th. Smoking Tiger coffee is also in the same plaza. The cafe is on the smaller side but there's lots of seating and you can take your orders to go if you want. It's cashless and you take your tray and trash to the counter once you're done. The menu has everything from fruity flavors to Asian flavors like hojicha and injeolmi to Cinnamon Toast crunch. You can get an individual size or larger size to share. The interior is minimalist with vintage-looking posters of the business. They have WiFi and complimentary water. We ordered matcha and mango flavored bingsoo. Both had a tall pile of ice with ample toppings and more syrup layered inside the ice which I think is an important very often overlooked step. I can't wait to return to try out more flavors!

Would have given another star if service wasn't so slow…read moreTheir rate limiting step is their ability to shave the ice - which makes it tough for large groups waiting for their orders because your bowl starts to deflate when it melts Price for a single is a bit high. Would recommend sharing and ordering a large which could easily feed 2-4 people for only double the price of a small single serving Have to admit that this is a less decadent dessert than ice cream The ice is so soft and light. Fruit bowls are not just topped as a garnish but filled in the center with plenty of fruit too for a surprise treat Flavors are fresh Each bowl has a unique combo Black sesame bowl was topped with red bean and a crispy rice cake Sit powder bowl had mochi pieces throughout There are seat S both inside and outside Maybe they should have better A/C to keep the bowls from melting so fast

I had the Duck Confit, with their thousand layer potatoes and a tiny tiny dollup of tarragon mustard. The crispy outer layer with the moist meat was nice. Bottom line, I really enjoy my duck confit. The thousand layer potatoes fun. I should of also ordered a side salad or a vegetable, but, oh well. My friends shared the Salad Nicoise which had too much salad dressing and the lettuce was drowning. For the olives, they opted to use thinly sliced new green olives that are pickles and crispy. My friends thought that was a bit odd and missed the regular kalamata olives. Overall, my friends said they enjoyed the salad. We shared bread and butter which was heavenly! For dessert we shared the plum, fig galette. It was delicious and glad we all had a small portion, which is exactly what we wanted to finish the meal. We had fun watching the staff prep for dinner too! The decor is fun throughout the restaurant. I would definitely return here again. Tomat is a fun casual fine dining experience.

Major win for Tomat over other coffeeshops is the parking. Most coffeeshops have horrible morning parking, but Tomat will never have this issue as it shares the lot behind the Staples. If coffeeshop parking ever feels like a burden, go to Tomat. While parking allows me to visit a coffeeshop, it still needs to be worth visiting, and Tomat is definitely worth visiting. The coffee menu has your usual suspects, but there are some adventurous lattes to change things up, i hope they keep things fresh with a rotation of seasonal drinks, but solid basics will bring me back regardless. I had an iced dirty london fog and a clarified coldbrew. Both were good. The clarified coldbrew is run through a centrifuge to remove fines and pariticles that cloud the coldbrew leading to a cleaner coldbrew that is less bitter and does not have muddy sediment at the bottom.

Since it's quite loud inside it was difficult to communicate about our selections, but service was friendly. Cuisine: Bakery, with select gluten-free desserts. Price: Affordable/cheap. Restrooms: Not sure since indoor dining isn't available. Parking: Large private lot though there's plenty of businesses that it might be busy during lunch/dinner rush. Atmosphere/Service: Casual; polite & efficient service. NOTE: Restaurant has a website & orders can be placed online, though no menu pics for point of reference. Sinners for decadent desserts & saints for gluten-free delights... Sinners & Saints Desserts offers a splurge for a luscious dessert, yet scrumptious for those that need gluten-free treats. Be mindful that their kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free one, but precautions are taken to minimize cross contamination. I used to work in the area & came across this bakery, but never got around to trying them out. Since my daughter's birthday was coming up, I thought about trying them out since their desserts were beautifully displayed... they should taste good, right? I ordered the current favorite flavor: red velvet, & asked if they could decorate it with pink flowers & birthday message in red. The cake looks plain with just 3 pink roses, but the birthday cursive was pretty good; however, for the price, it wasn't worth eating a super dry cake. Our family of 4 barely ate 1/3, & tried giving it away to our neighbors, who were also unimpressed. The Smack Pie was supposedly a decadent chocolate lover's sinful treat. It was meh... the ganache wasn't silky-smooth but did taste fudgy, the caramel was hard, & the peanuts were stale. We did enjoy the Banana Cream & Lemon Blueberry Tarts to offset the very dry birthday cake. Luckily, I bought these to compensate for the cake so the birthday girl was happy in the end. Sinners & Saints Desserts sounds like a deliciously tempting bakery but some of their goods miss the mark. I don't think I'll be purposely sinning here much. Recommended: Lemon Blueberry & Banana Cream Tarts.

I found the churro joint within 5 minutes of the park. A super small hole in the wall shop. The man was super kind. It comes with a free dipping sauce. Mine came relatively soon after. It was crispy on the outside. A part of me felt like my churro was a little undercooked??? But the freshness and hotness was enough for me to overlook and I didn't get a stomachache or anything so I think it was fine lol I saw there was berries and cream option. I'd like to try that some time. I hope they eventually can do Nutella drizzles since they can't do that for now.
