Leans a little young, but I always find something I like there! The owner is also very nice. Last time I was there I had a bad experience unfortunately. I rushed over after work and was told they closed in 5 minutes. I knew I was cutting it close to closing but I knew exactly what I wanted and where it was in the store. However, I noticed the associate watching me closely as I looked for my size and I didn't want to be THAT person keeping her late, so I left without buying anything. I went to another store and then back to my car- which is when I noticed it was 5:55. The point being the associate at 25 Central rushed me out when I could have had time to find my size and make a purchase well before 6pm when they closed that day. I ended up driving to Hadley and buying a shirt at a big chain store- which is what I was trying to avoid! Maybe this is me getting old and grumpy, but I'm frustrated by how places like this don't serve the average working person. Most people work until 5:30, which gives very little time to get in and out of a store. On top of that, I actually did have time to shop and leave before closing, but was pressured to leave. If the owner reads these, I hope they are open to this feedback!

My experience at Monella depends on how affluent I look that day. Located on Level 1 of Thornes…read moreMarketplace, it's on the upper end of women's retail. Most of the brands I don't recognize save for Michael Stars. The issue isn't with the product, it's with the customer service. I frequent Thornes and therefore have come into Monella at least a dozen times. With regularity comes a variety of looks, sometimes I look professional and affluent and other times I look like I've been hit by a truck because it's been a long day and it's 90 out. When I look like I can "afford" to shop there, the customer service is odd, but not offensive. I am asked if I need anything and they will start a room for me. However, if I'm a bit disheveled, they will follow me around and inquire as to how many items I have in my hand and I have been followed into the dressing room. This isn't dependent on the saleswoman, it's entirely dependent on how I am dressed. Perhaps looking relatively young and with a large tote doesn't help matters, but I am not accustomed to this treatment. I wonder if based on their location they have had an issue with shoplifting, nonetheless, this shouldn't be my experience. So I recommend people take their business elsewhere. There's not a huge selection anyways.
