Egg and Cheese sandwich not good at all. Lemon-aid was sour and watery. Very disappointed.

Of the…read more1/2 dozen flavors - the Lemon, Chocolate Caramel Coconut, and the Dark Chocolate Chip are hands-down my favorite! The Lemon with white chocolate chips is perfect for the spring and summer, while the chunks of caramel and and shredded coconut add a delicious layer of complexity and depth to the Chocolate Caramel Coconut cookie, and the Dark Chocolate Chip tastes like an ooey gooey brownie! There's hardly any wait and the shop is quite cozy as there's really no place to sit-down. Come in and grab a cookie!

There were a few seasonal items that captured a spring aesthetic. Everything was packed well and we were out quickly. *Carrot Cake: one of their seasonal offerings and my favorite of the bunch. It was not the moistest cookie, but it tasted the most balanced. There was a subtle sweetness, although I would have loved to see more elements of a traditional carrot cake highlighted, such as raisins or warm spices. *Cherry Scone: reflective of the fleeting cherry blossom season. My party was split on the texture, with some disliking how dense and heavy it tasted. I personally did not find it dry or overly crumbly. The cherry flavor was light, and it colored the dough nicely and paired well with a darker beverage. *Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip: subtle coconut shavings with barely noticeable caramel. The chocolate chips were by far the most dominant ingredient and flavor. Apparently one of their classic flavors, but it was my least favorite. I was actually more impressed by their seasonal offerings, which is disappointing since those rotate out. Their classics are popular for a reason, but they do not feel refined enough to justify the pricing compared to other bakeries. I would not mind splitting a cookie with a friend, although I would not go out of my way for one.

Did you know that the original macaron was invented in the first Ladurée patisserie shop in Paris…read morein 1862? It was actually the great grand cousin of the owner that invented it. While I was tempted by these silver dollar-sized beauties of varying alluring colors, I couldn't keep my eyes of their Passion Fruit tart. I thought the tag must've been wrong since it was covered in raspberries, but when I looked closely at the description, it mentioned that it had a passionfruit crème filling. I gave in to temptation, but there was no evil. Maybe 1000 calories, but who's counting. It was worth every one thousand pennies! I deserved it. I'm a great dog mamma. I also purchased the salted chocolate chip cookie for my tea another day and a croissant for breakfast tomorrow. I will not shy away from Ladurée any longer. Au revoir until another day.

They had macarons, croissants, cookies, and a mini baked creations. It was really hard to decide on what to order? I ended up with a chocolate croissant and a strawberry Madeline. The inside of the bakery is as beautifully designed as the window display. It would be a really nice place to meet a friend for a beverage and a sweet. Service was great. A special shout out to the young woman behind the counter. I am so sorry, I do not know her name. By accident, I left my credit card there and didn't realize it. When, I figured out where I Iost my card, I called and she held onto it for me, until I could get back to there. She was so sweet and so honest. Thank you! Now, to the baked goods. The croissant was buttery and light and flaky. But, it did not have enough chocolate. There was a small amount in the center, but it really needed more. The strawberry Madeline was worthy of a gold medal. It was sweet, but not too sweet. The cookie/cake melted in your mouth. The strawberry was amazing and delicious. I just savored every bite. I would go back, just for that pastry. It is a little pricey, but you are in Bethesda. My two pastries were a little over $10 dollars. I did enjoy them. So, beautiful bakery, helpful and honest employees, delicious baked goods....I will definitely be back.

The same five donuts would cost me double in DC! Five took the whole box which had a nice, clear window! The other pastries intrigued me as well as I scanned all around trying to soak it all in! Black and White cookies, Linzer and Hamentashen cookies were available! A whole counter had sugar cookies that were decorated. They can print custom cookies for your next event! Great prices and love the freshness of the items! The Babkas look to me like danish rings and were all sold out when I appeared in the evening! I thought the cronut was good but a tad sweet for me. The size is a great value for the price. They also have a raisin pumpernickel loaf. The menu also had a cranberry rye. If you need your loaves sliced, don't forget to ask! The classic glazed donut was light, fluffy and melt in the mouth yummy! OMG! The jelly donut is stuffed to the hilt with raspberry jelly! A hefty and heavy donut because they don't give you a tiny squirt of jelly. Once you eat it, you get jelly in every bit and oh so light! If ever in Bethesda make the trek! I did three times and the week wasn't even over yet! When the ladies asked me if I wanted anything else...I replied... "everything". A

TL;DR: aesthetically pleasing, but food/pastries/drinks were a let down…read more Finally got to try maman after always wanting to try it. When you first walk in, the interior is very cutely decorated. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, as well as some communal tables. They have an extensive menu of drinks and food, including a case full of pastries. Service was fine. Coffee came out first, but then our food did not come out for ~20-25 minutes. FOOD: Pastries: Overall, the flavors were okay, but the technical components and textures were way off. ~Nutella beignet (1/5): I would not call this a beignet, but just a donut. It was dry and dense, and the Nutella filling was minimal ~Kouign maman (2.5/5): the flavor tasted normal, but it was not flaky or crisp on the outside and papery on the inside. Hard to cut into and not crumb-y ~Brown butter croissant bar (2.5/5): again, flavor tasted like brown butter with a little bit of cinnamon, but the pastry was flimsy and soggy. ~Croque maman (2/5): I assume this was a play on a croque monsieur. The cheesy crust on the top of the bread was hard as a rock and tasted burnt. The filling to bread ratio was off. There was like maybe a teaspoon of bechamel. Flavor did not deliver. ~Chicken Caesar wrap (2.5/5): It was fine, but underdressed again. There was no cheese or croutons or anything. Just chicken and lettuce and like 2 slivers of pickled onions. Additionally, for the price point and portion size, it just wasn't worth it.
