Preparing for one of my friends night in the city for her last big fling before the ring, we needed to find a limo soon to accomodate the bachelorette and her party. I happen to give Onyx Limo a try and Alex picked up. He was very courteous and gave me a breakdown of his services and I told him what we wanted and that was it, he was ours. He picked us up right on time and WOW! What we didn't know was how handsome this guy was, and that inviting smile of his... ok ok I'm getting ahead of my self here now, but the girls did think he was hot too and that was a plus having him drive us around =) Over all he was one of the most proffesional driver/owner I ever came across, very well polished. The price he gave us for the top notch service we received was great. The limo was sparkling clean, with a well stocked bar, and he was always there ready to pick us up right on schedule! Now thats what you call quality service! Good quality service makes good business. We'll definitely be calling Alex again for future events and totally recommend his services to everyone else... Thanks so much Alex you're the best!! read more

I was with ALEX this weekend and we had a blast! He is spot on with all of his recommendations!! We had an awesome time... Very Professional and excellent service. -Wes read more

I'm actually scared to write this review because I think the owner will hunt me down. I liked my driver, but the owner was not as professional as he thought he was. When I booked the limo, he reassured great service and even offered to buy me a bottle of champagne for the event. Apparently, the morning of the event, my limo "broke down" before it got to me, and I got an "alternative" limo. When the limo arrived, the glasses were dirty, and the limo wasn't all that. The ride itself was nice and my driver knew how to get around, but when I told the owner about the dirty glasses, he got really upset and told me how "only one glass was probably dirty, and I gave you a $50 bottle of champagne, and the limo before broke down and we had to clean the one you got in an hour!." Okay guy, you offered the champagne, I didn't ask for it, so don't use it against me. And I don't care what your excuses are, don't get on my case because your limo broke down. It's business, I have no sympathy when I'm paying (well, maybe I would have been if he was not so defensive about it). His prices are good, so go for it, but I'm sorry Alex, I didn't appreciate your tone with me. You had great excuses but at the end, your dirty glasses really embarrassed me in front of my friends. He offered me a free ride after the incident, but I don't want to deal with him again. read more

Alex still has a argumentative and condescending tone of voice the other yelpers allude to in their reviews below. He quoted me a price and I called him later to sign up and was trying to get me to quote him "back" the price by telling me to email back when he never sent me an email in the first place but just called. And then he got angry about it and was full of attitude. He quoted me $675 for 8 hours to and from Napa with no fuel surcharge or toll fee plus a 20% "required" gratuity. Then he says he quotes $675 to $750. He said he can appreciate me trying to get a deal in this economy but got pissed he had to quote his price first. I had to remind him that I'm the customer. He's the typical car salesman type and talks a lot of fluff with a lot of attitude for no reason. He has issues and we will not be going with his services. The previous yelp review where the yelper thinks Alex "will hunt him down" is on point. Just like how he told another yelper that he was too busy and on another job - that's his M.O. for poor customer service since he told me the same thing. Looks like that's the way he works his business by hustling and bullying people and just talking about customer service instead of providing it. There's a difference between knowledge and belief and it clearly shows in this case. 79 filtered reviews, the 5-star ones by people who do not yelp AT ALL. Sounds fishy to me. Supposedly his sister is an attorney. So what. Really? I was just trying to tell him not to play games and that I know how to negotiate and that's the BS that he comes back with. He is not customer service oriented and I'd be wary of the differences between his one-star and five-star yelp reviews. I can see how he bullies people into writing a good review. He seems like a very up and down type of person full of entitlement. I am so thankful that I know this early on before he almost ruined my best friend's birthday trip to Napa. Alex, you're an asshole. read more

I had friends fly into town for a Napa trip we deiced a limo was the way to go. I was refereed to Onyx by a friend who takes frequent trips to Napa. What a great referral- the driver was very knowledgeable and gave us great winery suggestions to add to our list. When we got into the car there was water and champagne on ice, which was needed after a day of wine tasting. I have to say it was a great day and I would totally use Onyx again. read more

We were in SF for the Labor Day weekend with friends, and the master plan was to go to Napa on Saturday. I have done my homework and researched the options as far as getting a driver. Thanks to Yelpers, I found this service. I called and asked if they could provide service to us. I called a week in advance:) Alex was very polite, informative, and friendly. He did not as for a deposit, which none of the the other limo companies were able to offer. I gave him the list of places where we wanted to go and he said he will pick us up at 10:15 next morning. He was prompt! The limo was sparkling clean and shiny. Waters and champagne was waiting for us too. He was very helpful with his advice on the wineries as well as the dinner choice! We had a great time:) I would definitely use that service again next time we are going wine tasting! read more

My cousin hired them and got 2 limos for his wife's birthday to take us on a Napa wine tour. Nice limos, clean, and the drivers were nice, friendly, and accomodating. We had 1 limo for the guys and one for the wives. I can say that our driver was keeping us up to date on where we were going and how long it would take to get there. The wives were happy with their driver, as he catered to their needs and entertained them with conversation when needed and gave them their prvacy as well. The tour was good and he brought us to a few recommeded places. All were high end including the place for dinner. Overall, a good experience. If I have to say one thing, the wives were very happy. Alex was their driver. And if the wives are happy, so are we. After all, it was for them. read more

One word: awesome! We booked our limo pretty late in the game for our wedding and didn't really know what to expect, but Alex did a fantastic job. We couldn't have asked for better service. Alex was very professional and made sure we were all taken care of. The cost was very reasonable. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Onyx Limos to anyone, and will definitely be calling Alex again for our future needs. read more

Onyx Limos takes customer service to the next level! Alex reminded me that there are people out there that do take their job seriously and clearly showed how much he cared and how dedicated he is to his customers. I took my girlfriend and a couple of close friends out for a night on the town to celebrate her birthday. We planned on going out for dinner and then grabbing a drink or two afterward. Alex came on time (actually a few minutes early) and from start to finish, went above and beyond to make our experience with him phenomenal and superb. He even went out of his way to call up the spot we had dinner reservations at to make sure we got a nice table (and we did)! Alex has a great understanding of San Francisco and knows his way around town, especially with people. I never felt like I was being up-sold or taken advantage of. I find it very rare these days to feel like I get my moneys worth when I go out or pay for some sort of customer service, but Alex and Onyx Limos was a pleasant reminder that there are still people out there who care! Thanks for making the night so special and one to remember! read more

I used Onyx for a basic "car service" to get from SF down to south San Jose. I was picked up in a black S500 that was very clean. I understand that Alex has a variety of other cars, so don't be afraid to ask "what else". What a great guy... Alex is exceedingly polite and optimistic. You can count on him to be there early, and get you there on time. Don't bad mouth the Raiders (should you be so inclined) because Alex is a true fan (boasting several players as clients). Great guy, great car, great services... read more

Alex brought us to Napa this weekend, and everything was perfect! From the bottle of Veuve waiting for us in ice to his amazing lunch suggestion, I highly highly suggest using his services. Using the Yelp special, the price was half of another company that my boyfriend had reserved for us that we had to cancel. Thanks Alex for a great day! read more

Great transportation company with a great owner. Our limo was clean, well stocked and on time. We had the owner of the company driving us, Alexander, and he was awesome. He went above and beyond his duties. He knows great places to eat, awesome spots for a great, non-crowded view of San Francisco. Also he is extremely knowledgable of San Francisco and it's history. We also used Onyx limo services when going to the wine country. Again we had Alexander and again he impressed us. Next time we go to San Francisco we will give Onyx a call and request Alexander. Thanks for a great experience. read more

Alex was amazing! One of the best limo experiences I've had in the city. I called the night before I needed two Limos for a one way pickup and drop to a club downtown. More people showed up at our house than we expected so we called Alex and he got us a third limo and took care of everyone! The service was excellent, the limos were in great condition, I would definitely recommend this limo service to anyone looking for a limo service in the city. Thank You again, Alex! read more

I used Onyx for a high profile pickup that required white glove service and they definitely delivered. Onyx was flexible and professional from beginning to end. In my opinion, the one-star reviews I read below speak more to a personality clash between the reviewer and the owner/operator at Onyx (his name is Alex). The guy gets the job done. Plain and simple. Yes, he talks to much. Yes, he hypes his business. My recommendation is to figure out a fair price you are comfortable paying and communicate that with Alex upfront. Text him if you want so it's recorded. "I want to go from point A to point B for this much". Alex's nature is to go above and beyond. The cars are spectacular, he's never late, drinks are ready, food, etc. He'll expect a tip but he'll definitely earn it. If you don't want that type of service then flag down a beater limo on Market St. read more

I have taken hired carriages and limousines from some of the most splendid locales in this green earth. Milan, St. Tropez, Milwaukee, Montauk, Ciudad de Mexico, Transylvania, and even Greenwich. He offered to drive us anywhere, fortunately we only needed to go to Lombard, and he obliged. The atmosphere in his limo was impeccable and he was professional throughout. I recommend him to anyone and will certainly be calling for his services again!!! read more

I highly recommend this limousine company to anyone out there wanting good connections to the city along with great service! From the beginning, Alex has been super polite when I first called looking for good limo rates because my best friend and I were both turning 21 and he guaranteed me great service and safety. He dedicated his time talking to me over the phone for over 20 mins telling me what he'd provide etc. I was super pumped after talking to him because he told me he knew the city really well and promised me he'd take us to great places. He went above and beyond with everything! I asked him to buy some balloons to surprise my friend and told him that her favorite color was pink and as soon as we get in the limo, there are pink napkins, a nice bottle of rose champagne, different shade of pink balloons and a tv with Beyoncé music. He took us to several clubs getting us in for free in very and each one of them such as: Redwood room at Clift Bourbon and Branch Beer Cellar, Vessel Nightclub, and Audio Nightclub. He was gonna take us to slide but at that point I was a bit too drunk lol. He was also super reliable, whenever we were done we didn't even have to call him because he was outside waiting for us. He told us as well if anyone gave us trouble to text him because he'd help us out. He was not only our driver but a great friend! Towards the end he took us out for pizza and at Lombard St. for a selfie. We saved so much money thanks to Alex, along with getting a great rate for six hours. Limos are definitely expensive, but with our great experience I would say we got more than a great deal. I recommend Alex to anyone who is trying to find a relaxed, fun, trustworthy driver who will go far and beyond to make his clients happy. He was honestly amazing! Thanks Alex! We can definitely say that we've found our guy when needing good transportation. Ps. I normally never care enough to write reviews, (I just use yelp for reviews) but Alex totally deserves to be recognized! :) Natasha and Jen. read more

My friends and I have used Alex's limos for several years and highly recommend to anyone looking for comfortable cars, good service, and great rates. Have ridden up to Napa with him a few times and he's always been super flexible dealing with out changing schedules. Also, he has a few towncars and is the same cost as a cab. Why not go to SFO in style rather than a smelly cab? read more

I usually work long hours and travel regularly, so when i have a chance to come back to San Francisco, i take a limo, i have tried probably every limo service in San Francisco but this is by far the best experience, Alex was great to have as a driver, the price is unbeatable, at night Alex had to go pick up another client and had his dad pick me up, the guy was great too. I recommend this limo service if your in town, they have nice cars, great drivers, and fast service, plus the price is just right. read more

In town for a family trip and my son's birthday. We had decided to take the cable car to the pier but to our dismay the system was partially down, causing an hour and a half wait. We were told of a limo service around the corner. Upon meeting Alex we were pleased with his professional manner and ended up taking a tour instead of our original plan. We had an incredible day and took a ton of pictures, with Alex's assistance, that I will treasure. Amazing rates, service, recommendations and experience. We will most definitely use this service when returning on future trips. read more

Onyx Limos - Limos Near Me

I just used Onyx limo this past weekend for my birthday and they provided an excellent service. Over the phone Alex was great to work with and helped me set everything up, while offering a great price that the other limo services in town couldn't beat. On Saturday night our driver was Jason, and he was great. He took us everywhere we wanted to go, was very accommodating/patient as the night went on and our group grew more rowdy, and overall just provided an excellent/very professional service. Overall I would definitely recommend Alex & his crew for any night out on the town. These guys are great. read more

I can tell right off the bat when I speak to someone on the phone if they will provide good customer service and attention to detail and when I called Onyx, that was not the case. He was rude and a bit obnoxious when I inquired about their services. This automatically sends me red flags, that if you're going to have that tone on the phone, who's gonna say when we actually use your limo you're not gonna be the same, especially if it's for my sister's special wedding day. I would not want to even take that chance and have their attitude spoil the mood of the day. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

Alex definitely knew his way around Napa and was on time. He had a nice bottle of Mumm champagne along with tons of waters, and chocolates ready for us. The limo was a beautiful white for 10 people. The only problem with the limo was the seats had holes in them in various places but wasn't that big of a deal. It did have a tv and he told us to bring a connector so we can listen to our music in the limo which was a nice touch. A couple of things I did not appreciate: 1) Not being easily available to confirm plans. He made me feel weird when I was trying to confirm details. 2) His website not working. 3) Embarrassing me in front of friends that I was bothering him to confirm details when he was on another job. (not my fault) Maybe he was joking but at that point I wasn't in the joking mood. 4) Calling me the day before telling me that he starts at a different time then I requested even though he had our itinerary two weeks a head of time. He did come at the time we asked in the end. 5) Hitting on my friends. 6) Changing rates and saying that I misunderstood when we confirmed the pricing the night before. Really upset me that he wanted to discuss how it works when I was already intoxicated. Not cool. He was trying to tell us that he had connections but if he had been available to coordinate those connections ahead of time, it would have been nice. Some of the places he mentioned were really nice but we had already made our itinerary. Hopefully this review will help the company become more professional in the future. Alex was a nice guy but I would have rather had some of these details ironed out ahead of time and not the night before or day of.... I hope you find this review useful. BEWARE THAT I WAS BEING KIND. Will I use them again? I haven't decided. read more

I hired Onyx Limo to take me and ten friends up to Napa for my 30th Birthday. I talked to a bunch of limo companies but Onyx provided the best quote and were very easy to work with (i.e. didn't need to give a deposit, responded to all my questions quickly and promptly via text, offered clear pricing with gratuity included and no surprise fees). Before the trip, I talked to Alex who was great and personable over the phone. I made it clear to him that we were a group of 10 rowdy lesbians because I didn't want to deal with any sketchy dudes on my birthday (I know this is San Francisco and my friends are cute but, no, I WILL NOT make out with them to have you buy me a drink). Alex was totally chill about it and extremely professional. The day was beautiful, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Alex picked us up promptly at 11am and had bottles of waters and snacks in the limo for us. He patiently waited while three of my lagging friends showed up at noon. The limo was nice. Not the newest model and not pristine but totally totally got the job done (be sure to bring CDs, our radio wasn't picking up the best stations on the way to Napa). Alex had the day planned out, took us to two wineries and found a spot for us to picnic and hang out. Oh, and as a double bonus, Alex is an efficient, safe and fast driver (we definitely maximized our time at the wineries!). After we got back, we went by my house to change before heading to a bar. While we were inside, the limo was cleaned out all shiny and new. Once it got dark, the interior lights were the jam! Once we got dropped off at the bar, we were 2 hours over our originally scheduled time. Even though Alex and I had already negotiated an expected rate for any hours we went over. He knocked off an hour! Awesome, talk about service. It was a great day and everyone had a blast. I would definitely hire Onyx again and recommend them to anyone. read more

Awesome company! If you want to have a great time around the City or anywhere, I definitely recommend this limo/car service! If possible, I recommend requesting Alex as your driver. We used Onyx on Drinko de Mayo and our driver, Alex, was awesome. We never had to wait and he never said anything about our crowd getting bigger and bigger as we bar hopped. We never had to wait like some other drivers make you do while they're off using your tome to pick up someone else. I hate that! We got a stretch and it was in great shape and he cleaned it up after every stop. We'll definitely use them again! read more

Great trip and ride to Napa! Highly recommended!!!

Quite frankly the absolute best limo experience I have ever had! Our driver, Alex, exceeded any expectations we had for our Napa Valley trip. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the area, super flexible to our needs and wants, and a genuinely nice guy. It was a refreshing experience, and everyone in our party had a blast from start to finish. Rarely will you encounter a guy as amazing and friendly as Alex, and we will certainly be using his and Onyx's services for any Napa trip in the future.
