I lost $129.00 that I paid to Steve to fix a John Deere snow blower. I ordered the parts for the repairs to be completed on the snow blower and Steve never returned to my house to repair the snow blower, nor did he return the $129.00. CAUTION!!! Steve IS A THIEF!!! Don't waste your time and money!!! After 8 months and too many unanswered phone calls to count I am still the proud owner of a broken down portable generator and power washer. Originally Steve seemed honest enough, he came to my house, tore down and diagnosed my equipment. I paid $300 so he could order the necessary parts. That was October 2018, it's now almost July 2019. I now am forced to take two machines that are in a disassembled state to a REAL MECHANIC for the repairs. read more

I paid Steve of Onsite Small Engine Repair $400 for routine maintenance as well as new blades and spindles on a lawn tractor. On the third outing after he worked on my tractor, a blade came loose and jammed under the deck with the edge jutting out and caused the machine to shut down. After several phone calls and texts to Steve explaining the situation, I have yet to reach him. His website has a 90 day guarantee on their work which apparently he does not honor. I also opted for an emailed receipt which does not give the break down of charges. After spending $400, I've got a lawn tractor that I cannot use as well as a very sharp blade jammed and exposed and a repair shop that does not seem to care. An expensive and dangerous lesson learned. I am now in the process of filing a claim in small claims court and reporting this company to the BBB. read more

I would never recommend this company. Steve came out to repair my John Deere lawn tractor. He removed the deck and attempted to replace two spindles. He had problems removing a bolt and sawed it off. He stopped working and said he needed more parts. He billed me $230 including the two spindles ( twice the cost of Amazon). I called him the following week and he said he was waiting for parts. He never called back. I called him again and no return call. I had Weingartz repair it. read more

I originally had Onsite out to repair my riding lawn mower in fall or 2019. Steve came out inspected it ordered parts and would return to repair it when the parts arrived. Fall of 2019 he returned replaced blade belt and electric PTO. I paid around $600. The next day I attempted to cut the grass but the PTO keep cutting out then mower stopped. I called Steve again which he came out several weeks later. My rider not repaired until early summer of 2020. However the fasteners for the hood somehow not there. Many unanswered calls to replace bolts on hood. Finally the bolts were ordered and installed by myself August 2020. I began to mow yard about halfway through blade belt came off again. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW ONSITE TO WORK ON ANY EQUIPMENT!!!!!!!!! read more

He came out on time and loaded my 2yr old Cub Cadet Tractor /mower because it stalled. Another company said it needed a new engine $1800. Steve said he would look at it and hopefully not need an engine. However after waiting a year to hear from him, it was a broken engine I just want my machine back but its been 3 years and a dozen phone calls and promises to return it. I offered to pay him for his services so far and still no return of the almost new $2400 Cub Cadet. Question: Do I take him to court or file a stolen item to the police? read more

My Kubota needed service and I had no way of transporting it so I looked online for a company that would come out to do the repairs. The service man came out at the appointed time and date and assessed the problems and gave me an estimate. He told me that on small tractors they like to work on them in their shop. They would pick it up for a reasonable fee, fix it and return it for the same fee. All good so far. Then, when I called the owner to schedule the pick up I was given a day. He called on the scheduled day and postpone till the next day. The next he called and re-scheduled for two days later. When he got here he was late. I was told the tractor would be ready by Friday (picked up on Monday) and should be delivered either Friday or Saturday. When I called on Friday for a delivery time Steve told me it was not done yet and he needed a couple of days. Three days later still no tractor. Many calls, more excuses. Finally, he said it would be delivered on Friday, Monday the latest. I called three times on Monday, no tractor, no return calls. On Tuesday, I drove 55 minutes to his "shop" and surprised Steve. He said it still needed to be tested and would be delivered the next day. It was delivered at designated time. When I asked where the old replaced parts were he said at his shop and if I wanted he would e-mail a picture of them. I explained it was the law to provide them he said he didn't know. He then told me they did additional work totaling about $95.00. I was never called for approval. I took his word that the work was necessary and done so I paid him. The tractor runs well and Evan really knew his work but Steve has a long way to go. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Warning!! This is not a honest company like they claim!! 11 months and still no return calls or emails. Had Steve come out to repair my golf cart and they took my engine to the shop to repair it. After many calls and emails two months I get a call that his worker cracked the Engine block! Steve said he was looking for a replacement. That it was their fault and would replace it! Now 11 months surprise I can't get ahold of him!! Now I have a Fred Flintstone golf cart! No engine! And out a great sum of money!! Stay away from this company!!! read more

Steve, the owner was honest and easy to deal with. He called my home 15 minutes prior to his repairman's arrival. He repaired my 2-stage snowblower in under an hour. He also noticed that the pull cord was fraying and replaced it for an additional $5. The repair cost was reasonable and made up for the poor experience I suffered from a different service. read more

Steve and Evan came to my house, gave me a quote, nothing in writing. Said the machine would be ready in a week. (Oil leak)., 6 months later I got my machine back, after 2 trips to their work location in Leonard. I couldn't start the machine and the safety switch hadn't been installed. Steve came out and after using starting fluid, got the engine to fire. He fixed the safety switch. A month later, wouldn't start. Had to have the engine rebuilt (by another mechanic) ONSITE ENGINE REPAIR SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. DON'T HIRE THE COMPANY TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB. read more

The repair guy Evan was very professional and allowed me watch him and ask all the questions I wanted. He discovered issues the previous local repair company failed to find or fix and I now have a lawn tractor running as it should. On 1/20/2015 My generator was picked up for repair. On 2/24/2015 I was sent a list of Gaskets they would need to repair the oil leaks. I had the items sent to Steve's address which he acknowledged receiving them. He said that he was backed up and would get to the repairs in a few weeks. This was OK as I had a spare Generator. After some time I contacted Steve and he said his repair man had quit and again was backed up, but would get to the job within 2 weeks. After a few more weeks had past, still no Generator. At this point I consider that the Generator was stolen and he has no plans on returning it to me. I am filing a claim in small claims court and a report with the BBB. read more

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Do not hire this service ever! My regular serviceman was unable to do my repairs. My Husqvarna Tractor was running just fine when all this began, but it had an oil leak at the seal between the bottom pan and the upper engine casing. It was an obvious leak that you could see clearly; there were no secrets about where it was and what was needed to be done. I was pressed for time in April 2015 and was scheduled to be out of town on business. I needed to get my tractor repaired for when I got back into town. I found Onsite Small Engine Repair on-line, spoke with Steve a few times on the phone and through texts, and arranged to bring the tractor to him in order to expedite getting the repair done. I should have known it was a mistake when I arrived...his workshop looked more like a small equipment graveyard than business workplace; it was littered with old carcasses of small equipment, barrels and buckets of hundreds of old discarded parts. Even so, I decided to proceed. Steve drove the tractor off the trailer and parked it outside his workshop. We agreed that I would pick up the tractor on the Monday following my return to town, a total of 12 days to get the repair done. I shook Steve's hand and left. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM. When the day came for the tractor to be returned, I called and called and sent text's and got no response. The next morning I tried to reach Steve again with similar results. After work, I drove to his workshop, and found someone I had not met the first time working on a golf cart...AND MY TRACTOR WAS RIGHT WHERE IT HAD BEEN WHEN I LEFT! Almost 2 weeks and nothing had been done! The guy who was there said he was brand new, apologized to me for the work not being done and said he would have Steve call me. Two days later I finally heard from Steve, who gave me a pile of excuses as to why the tractor had not been repaired. He said he would have the tractor done the following Monday. Over the next two weeks I got nothing but excuses and lie's (he took on other work and completed it while letting my work sit!) and bull from this guy, when I heard from him. Mostly, it was me trying to reach him with no response. (See review of Denny T of Lenox, MI at Yelp.com, who had almost the same experience) Two weeks after I was supposed to get my tractor back, I went to his workshop to settle up with him and just take my equipment to Evan his former worker. Steve was not there, and my equipment was taken apart and scattered about his work area. It had rained over the previous 2 or 3 days, and it was clear that my tractor - in a dismantled state with the engine laid open - had sat out through all the rain; it was soaked! The hood was nowhere to be found, the mower deck was off and nowhere to be seen, the engine parts were laying all about. I took a number of photos, and left. It was clear that no matter what he did, my tractor was destroyed. He tried to contact me about settling up, and then ordering new parts to repair the engine, and the costs had ballooned to over twice what we had agreed to!!! He admitted that he had made a mistake which caused the engine to need so much more repair but he wanted me to pay for some of it!!! I learned that his main guy, Evan, who was the brains and the skill of the operation according to many other reviewers, left before I contacted Steve, to work for another company because of numerous incidents like this with other customers. On Feb 2, Evan made a service call to service both a lawn tractor and a portable generator. Both needed parts, and I paid for the service call and one of the parts in advance. At the end of March, Steve called to tell me the part for the lawn mower was in, but not for the generator. Since there were 6" of snow on the ground and more coming down, I thought I was doing them a favor by suggesting they wait until the generator part came in to necessitate only one trip - and also because there was no way at that point to test the tractor on the lawn. Steve thanked me and agreed to call when the Generac part came in. By May, we hadn't heard from them so I sent an email but had no response and our lawn was definitely in need of cutting. In June, Steve returned a phone call and set up an appointment for the following Friday at 1:30. No one showed; no one called. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I waited until after the following Friday just in case i got the date wrong (I knew I hadn't, but ...). I left messages and so did my son-in-law, but it is now the end of July and they have our money while we were forced to hire a lawn service for the summer, so the expense of hiring this company is exponential. His website promises honesty and satisfaction and we trusted him. It was an expensive lesson. This past week, I have pursued a claim in court. read more

I'm 69 years old and needed my garden tractor fixed. Icalled onsite small engine repair to come and see if they could fix it. Steve came to my house and tried to fix it. He told me that he couldn't figure it out and needed to take it to his shop so he get more onto it. He said he would have it back on Monday or Tuesday. Well Tuesday came and went and I did not hear from him. Wednesday came I text him and called him several tmes with no response the calls would go to his voice mail with no return call. Finally on Friday he called me and said he would have my mower back on Monday no show. So I started calling and texting all week with no answers. I called the police and they came and took a report. The police got a hold of him and went to his house to verify my mower was there. He told the police he was going to contact me but I still haven't heard from him. Monday I'm calling the police again and file charges for theft on Monday. I do not recommend Steve to do anything with your equipment. He is a liar and a thief. According to the police he hasn't done anything to my mower..Please be aware of this company. read more
