Had a Dishwasher that was out of commission for weeks- would not power on. Another company had been dispatched by my Home Protection plan to fix it. After several trips and part swaps they could not fix it. I asked My HP plan company to send out someone else. Docs Appliance came out, and Anthony was the tech. He reviewed all the previous work. Taking a lot of time and testing he noticed that the wiring harness that had been replaced was installed incorrectly. After more inspection Anthony found some burned out components on the User Interface board. He was able to get a new one and replaced the defective one. Taylor came out to service my not quite 3 year old GE "smart" washer that I purchased after my 35 year old Whirlpool finally died. The part was too expensive to replace, so we decided to buy a new one. I asked Taylor which he would suggest, and he spent some time telling me which ones last the longest. So I ordered a new one online from Lowe's and they are delivering it today. I have never had a problem with Doc's. They always send someone out ASAP, and the people they send out are always professional and courteous. Taylor was funny, too! I have a dryer that keeps having problems with the timer. So instead of replacing it and paying $500 or $600 for a new one, I contacted Doc's and got a replacement part. The replacement part wasn't expensive and I had it in about 2 days. The guys inside the store were helpful and close to my house. I contacted Doc's when my usual repair company was backlogged. My washing machine stopped at the rinse cycle and left me with a tub full of soapy washer and clothes. They were able to come out the next day with an arrival window of 8am-1pm. I received a call at 11:30am to alert me the tech would be arriving shortly, which he did about 10 mins later. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue and my luck, he had the part in his van. He was efficient and communicated clearly what he needed to do. He made sure I was aware what the total cost was prior to starting (which I appreciated). All in all, I was very pleased with the service! I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because I feel like there should be a bit of a break on the $105 service if you're paying for parts & labor. read more

Had an appointment scheduled for 9/23/2021 for a dryer repair and was thrilled when they called and asked if they could come today, 9/15/2021. Jay came out and was friendly and we were very impressed at how he took the dryer apart and inspected, especially since when he arrived, the dryer decided to start working. He replaced three parts on it, greased it up and now dryer is running and much quieter too. Jay said the dryer is in good shape and should last several more years. So happy Doc's was able to fix it, since right now gas dryers are hard to find and the one I want would have taken at least 6 weeks for it to be delivered to local store. I live in Sterling Heights . I had a service call today from Doc's. The repairman was Danny. He was on time. He was very competent and worked without any "drama" at all. I had two issues he needed to address. Garbage disposal and microwave oven. The garbage disposal was done quick. The microwave? Not so much. They repaired my dishwasher promptly but I got overcharged! First they charged my credit card 3 times for the deposit! Had to call to get that straightened out. Then when I submitted the bill to my extended warranty company, I found out they charged me for the part and they also got reimbursed by Kitchensid for the part! Double dipping! My 89 year old mother had Doc's out on October 14, 2020. Repair guy for a two year old LG refrigerator serviced refrigerator and said it was not the compressor. Called another repair service and was told it was the compressor. We have contacted Doc's several times and the fridge worked for a short period of time but went out again and again. Called Doc's back on April 27, 2021 because refrigerator wasn't working again and the guy finally said it was the compressor. Had to use Doc's because it was part of the service contract with ABC Warehouse. It is now going to take until July 1 to get the compressor in to replace it. In the meantime, my 90 year old parents have to go up and down the stairs to the basement refrigerator several times a day because these guys can't get it fixed. If it doesn't get fixed this time, it may be time to have the lemon law on the LG refrigerator. Don't buy LG and don't use Doc's. read more

Doc's came out to repair our (two-year old, high-efficiency) washer. It had two issues: it leaked and released a horrible gas smell. The tech was confident it was due to the suspension and we paid for him to replace it about a week later. It cost around $280 when all was said and done. I was very clear with him: "Are you SURE this will fix the smell and the leak?" He said yes. Well no, it didn't. It still leaks and releases gas. When we called to express this, they said we probably need another part - which will be our expense. I don't have unlimited funds for Doc's to play guess-and-check on my washer. If they weren't confident the suspension caused the problem, they shouldn't have replaced it (and charged me)! At this point, why would I allow them back into my home when A) they obviously don't know how to fix it, and B) I'm investing more in this washer than it's worth? read more

This company has always been very reliable and courteous during their appointments. Absolutely a great service! Previously, we had been getting repairs from a different company called A&E appliance. They are are horrible. Please avoid them at ALL COST. Ever since switching to Doc's, we have never had a problem, whatsoever. Also, they do offer warranties for appliances bought at Sergent's. Worst customer service EVER + incredibly HIGH PRICED! These guys are the very worst. After waiting a week for a repair, the tech came and I told him that we think it is the fuse on our dryer. (we did some research online since it was going to take a week for them to come out.) The guy put in the fuse in about 3 minutes. I walked into the other room a second, came back and he told me it was working. He never told me the price of what this would cost until i asked how much i owed. He told me it was $216. 85 for service fee, which i knew about, about 29.95 for the part and $95 for the LABOR of less than 5 minutes. The guy was rude and asked if I wanted it removed! My husband came home at that moment and asked if he quoted me and of course HE DID NOT. My husband had planned on getting it diagnosed and fixing himself. The service guy lied and said he did. I suppose asking if I wanted him to remove the part was his way of telling me the price. Of course I was thinking he would charge me another $95 for removing it too. Husband asked him to leave so we could deal with the owner. Anyway - even the owner backed the service tech and I think it is totally RIDICULOUS to charge $95 labor for 5 minutes on top of the $85 service fee for a $29 part. He said that replacing the part was their way of diagnosing it. LOL - then why charge the $95 labor? Will not be back Owner called us liars. The folks at Docs Appliance were great to work with. I have Viking Grill the kind that is built in the island. So this can be a issue if you need repairs, plus you can't just grab it and take to the repair shop. The issue the girl I had bought was set up for Lp gas but I wanted to switch it over to use gas so I could use the gas from my home. This something that takes a different type regulator so I got the parts but I couldn't get the girl to work. So I had called Docs for service. I wish i had read more reviews of this place before using them. I just had a repair done today. It took the guy 20 mins. The labor was $120 *$%*^ plus the $90 it took to have them come out. I expected that to be rolled in. The service was great, the tech was super nice and helpful. But i wish i had just bought a new dryer at that cost. $360/hr plus $90 show-up seems pretty steep. read more
