Came out as scheduled to diagnose a dishwasher problem after communicating "The service fee to come out and diagnose. The issue is $89.95. The service fee is waived with completed repair". Said my dishwasher needed $420 repair. They emailed me a bill immediately after they diagnosed the issue -- when I inquired how the initial service fee would factor into the estimate, THEY NEVER RESPONDED but began harassing me for the service/diagnosis fee. They blew up my phone (called over 10 times in 24 hours and continued through the next week) he even threatened to knock on all of my tenants doors at 8am until they got paid for diagnosing despite their promise to incorporate it into fixing the issue. They were never concerned about helping me fix it, just collecting their $89 Decided a new dishwasher was a better option than repair but I had to hire a different company to install a new dishwasher who said there wasnt even anything wrong with the original dishwasher. read more

Mr fix it is excellent at fixing appliances, and beyond terrible at customer service and running his business logistically. I hired him to look at a dryer, washer and dishwasher in my home in royal oak, and after going to my property and looking at only the washer and dryer and not the dishwasher, wanted to charge me a $90 service fee. After telling his secretary I wouldn't be paying it and would be happy to apply it to the repair of the dishwasher he hadn't bothered to look at when he was over there, he refused to call me back and blocked my number. Far be it from me to expect a fix it man to inspect every appliance he agreed to inspect before leaving the house! He then accused me of yelling and cursing at his secretary when I did no such thing and merely told her I wouldnt be paying a service fee for a job that was only 2/3rds done as agreed and insisted I get a call from the tech that hadn't bothered to look at my dishwasher. Jason is a hothead and often gets into unecessary conflicts with his clients like he did with my business partner on a different call. His repairs are on the expensive side for labor but he is very prompt and talented at the repairs it is just his bedside manner and communication that is unfortunately dogsh*t. read more

His excuse one time was that he "went to the house next door because it looks like mine". The other two scheduled visits were no call/no show. I called 8/25/25 and was told someone would call me back, never got a call back so I called today (8/27/25) requesting a refund. My first experience I took my car here ( MR FIX IT AUTO) for an oil change. It was a great price. Before I left they emailed me pictures of my (alleged) rotor and pads. I've gone a year now and I feel no grinding, I hear no squeaking or other noises I don't have to push very hard to break. I'm having someone look to see if I actually do need breaks. I've only come to this assumption because I called and asked for an estimate on muffler repair. They quoted me an estimate of $1100. He terrorized me into believing I would lose it all if I go over a bump. I cautiously drove to DOUG'S MUFFLER who fixed it for $240. with a two year guarantee. Never showed up. 2 hours into the window we got a voicemail (phone never rang). Said since we're not available he's moving onto his next appointment and maybe he'll show up later if he has time. We called back as soon as we saw the voicemail a few minutes later. We left a voicemail back saying we've been home the whole time and just didn't hear the phone ring. He can come over anytime during the window or even later. An hour later we got a call from the office saying we need to reschedule for another day since we weren't available. I said absolutely not we were ready and waiting for service. I got a call back from the tech, who's apparently the owner, saying he assumed we weren't home when we didn't immediately answer a phone call (that went straight to voicemail). Says he's not coming over and it would be best to call some other repair shop. So that's the advice I'll give here. Don't waste a couple days waiting for this guy, call someone else. read more

Too bad there isn't a zero star rating because that's what they, Mr Fix It (Jason) deserves. My wife made an appointment for our refrigerator with them and they gave her a 4 hour window. She explained the problem when making the service call. Jason called her at 4:45 15 minutes prior to the end of window which was 5:00. He asked her what the problem was which she had already discussed when making the appointment. He had a poor phone connection that kept cutting in and out so she said she would discuss when he got here because of the poor connection. His reply was "When I get there" with an attitude and hung up! My wife called the office and explained what happened. The receptionist called back and said Jason is the owner and is refusing service. I originally hired Jason from Mr Fix it as he could accommodate an evening appt. He came out was friendly and told me what repairs/parts my fridge needed, I paid him the service call fee at this time . I had a warranty on the fridge so took me a bit to confirm I wanted to repair and put down the parts deposit, $200. Months went by after putting down the deposit, me contacting him to ask status of the parts and I kept getting the response that parts were out of stock or on backorder, he offered me a refund a few times, but I needed the repair so I declined. After 6-7 months of this I finally asked what the parts were and looked them up told him I would order, I ran into some financial issues and didn't order for awhile, when I finally did, he could no longer do the evening appt, so I requested a refund of my parts deposit (since he didn't ever provide the parts) and hired another company who could come in the evening. Multiple times I kept getting response from person who answers the phone that she would check with Jason about my refund..... have called so many times since June, no response except I'll ask Jason again so basically took $200 deposit. I contacted Scott because my washing machine was leaking. I had used Mr. Fix it before and was very satisfied. My second experience was not as good. He came in, looked at the machine, said he needed a part and needed to make a deposit of $250.00, which I paid . Three weeks later he came back to install the part, after several phone calls to his company, as he advised me it would be a few days for the part to come he finally arrived part in hand. I used Mr. Fix's services twice, and both times had a wonderful experience. Once for my washer and once for my dish washer. My washer is a newer Samsung model that many other appliance repair companies won't service due to the technology and many features. He was able to quickly assess the issue and he even had the part needed in his van to fix. Very professional and a wealth of knowledge. I am a person who asks many questions and he thoughtfully answered all to help me better understand how the machines operate and how to trouble shoot if future issues arise. There are aspects that I will applaud, the service techs are friendly and on time. The notification system sends an approximation of arrival and a photo, which I appreciate as a female who is home alone during the repair visit. Well done Mr. Fix It. However, the office staff who answer the phone and handle the schedule need more training. The location I dealt with is not very informed and doesn't keep notes in a way to follow along with the ongoing issues (if you have any), so each time you call you get the same person on the phone, but have to repeat yourself (that is poor customer service). Now onto the repairs. I had a tech come out and after 1 hour determine I needed a new part. He said "I spent a lot of time to determine exactly what you need so we can fix it right the first time". Boy was that music to my ears! Professional and telling me what I hoped to hear- I was impressed. The next visit would be to install new part - In total I would be paying around $560.00. Not awesome news, but hey, my freezer would be working again *Pricey Samsung Refrigerator, freezer wasn't "freezing"- fridge less than 3 years old - Samsung is getting a review as well! Anyhow, a diff. tech came out to install. Pleasant enough technician, but I became immediately nervous because one of the first things he said to me was, "what did the first technician say was wrong". Huh? Aren't you hear with the part? Which is what I said. Regardless, he tried to install the part and ended up (after 30 min. ) telling me the part they received from manufacturer was broken. OK? It happens, so I have to call to schedule another apt. *I work, go to school so only have limited days/times available. When I call the office, they won't accommodate me for a couple of weeks - I am not a priority after all they already got half my money right! Again, not good customer service. Another 2 weeks goes by, finally get an appointment, but they schedule at a time that I told them I couldn't be there. So another week goes by and the same tech who tried to install part returns. Again, he is pleasant and installs part. Says all working so I pay balance and he leaves. SHOULD NOT HAVE PAID! Freezer was not fixed and now I've paid full amount and got nothing to show for it. I call to complain, again, not a priority to the office, so I have to wait 2 weeks for the Original tech to come back out. He must be the estimator or something. Shows up, again very nice and he says, well while you needed the part we installed, you will need to also have an electrician come out and add Freon. Wait, what? I thought you spend an hour here initially to determine everything I needed? Also, what? You don't have anyone on staff that can do that? Awesome! So how am I supposed to not feel lied to and duped when my refrigerator is operating in 100% the same way it was BEFORE you "fixed" it, and now I have to find someone else to come here and add Freon? Oh, side note, the nice tech told me that I could call the office to get a lead on who I could call. That's a joke - The office had nobody they new to send - I asked to have a manager call me, been 2 more weeks and NO CALL. Doubt that the girl who works at the office even told manager to call me, but had she - not sure they would have. If by chance Mr. Fix It does read these reviews - I would appreciate a response and not just on this review for you to save face - An actual phone call would be great- You can respond to this asking me to call you with a number that will get me to you. I'll check back next week to see - fingers crossed - If you make this all right, I will oblige by updating this review. You have potential here, just need better follow thru. I had an appt scheduled for today. Our dishwasher isn't draining and we are getting an error code. I called them to make an appt, informed them of the problem and that a small amount of water remained at the bottom and asked if we needed it removed. I was assured the tech would handle it and it was fine. Come day of appt...he came at the end of the 4 hr time frame...opened the dishwasher not even half way and said 'I opt out of this one' and left. He didn't say if i drain or clean it he would come back. He wasn't even here a total of 2 minutes...I didn't even get the tell him what the damn issue was. Owner Jason came the day after we called. He ran the dishwasher a long time, and our conversation told me he knew the brand and individual model characteristics extremely well. He then moved fast and expertly to discover a blockage, cleaned it and reassembled. He must have spent an hour and a half total at my home. My freezer went bad again. With the demand for repairs, I was able to get Mr. Fix-It to schedule an appointment in less than a week (which is good right now). Then he got a cancellation, contacted me, and came three days earlier! He looked at the freezer, showed me the problem, and gave me an estimate for the job. Very reasonable!!! He took care of the equipment first and then put Freon back into the system. Jason was very professional and courteous. I have only written two other yelp reviews and both were 5 star stellar reviews, this one not so much. In February I made an appointment to have my dishwasher looked at. I made the appointment with Lauri who btw was always polite and professional when I spoke to her. Jason (the owner) came to my house and diagnosed my dishwasher as having to need to new motor. I had a coupon that I thought would wave the fee for that day, but apparently not, because I was charged $69.00 and told that it would be applied to the cost of replacing the motor if I had them do it. So, this is not really a coupon that you're given anything for free as a new customer, every repair company applies the diagnostic visit to the repair. Jason told me that day that he fixes a couple of these dishwashers (Kitchenaid Whirlpool) a week. I was given an appointment three weeks out for when the motor would be in, but when that day came Jason was a no show. When I spoke to him he told me that I should've gotten a phone call, that the motor didn't arrive. Another appointment was made, but through phone calls by Jason and even by me to the Whirlpool warehouse, we determined that the part was on back order with no ETA. I waited a total of four months and in that time I only contacted either Lauri or Jason a couple of times. I didn't badger anyone and even Jason told me during a phone call in May that I was patient and that another customer was "yelling at him" about her motor not being in. I told him that I understood that this was not his fault. On June 17, I reached out to his office to see if there was any news on the parts arrival. You will notice that when you call this office there is an immediate recording telling the caller that they are being recorded. The first time that I heard this my thought was, these people must have a problem with the public. A Jessica answered and through conversation I determined that there are still no parts to be had and I asked for a return of my money since they are unable to provide me with repair service. She explained that they don't refund that money, that it goes towards repair to which I replied, you can't offer me any repairs. She at one point told me to "stop yelling at me, it's disrespectful". I told her that I wasn't yelling at her, that I'm hard of hearing and that I talk loud". She said that she would ask Jason if he would refund me any money and I told her that I could reach out to him, that I had his phone #. At some point in the conversation I asked her if a negative yelp review from me was worth $69. I texted him telling him that I've been extremely patient (four months!) and that I don't know why I'm eating the cost of the him coming out here when if he could've fixed the dishwasher the $69 would've been absorbed into the cost of the repair IF he'd a motor for me. I also told him in text I don't appreciate being told that I was yelling at his secretary, that I'm hard of hearing, that I talk loud in general and that she needs to get the chip off her shoulder. I then asked him if $69 was worth a bad yelp review. Rather than Jason stand firm on his business policy to not refund diagnostic charges, he chose to respond to me in a forceful manner. In the more than thirty years of having contractors or repair people come into my home I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. Jason told me that he listened to the recorded telephone phone and that I was yelling at Jessica, told me that I owed her an apology, that she isn't my human verbal punching bag, and that if I leave any reviews that are dishonest he has the text correspondence and he will respond with to the review with them that he will sue me for defaming his business. He also told me that I have made it to their do not service list. Wow, like I'd actually call them for service? I asked him if he was threatening me and told him that I also have recordings and text messages, that I wasn't yelling at his secretary, that I had her on speakerphone and repeated to him that I'm hard of hearing . I told him that I would leave any kind of review that I wanted to, that I don't lie, and that this is not the way to treat a customer. I told him good luck with his business, with the way that the economy is right now that he should be doing everything he can do to please a customer, that they need some lessons in customer service. I told him to take my phone # out of his phone, to not contact me any further or that I'd be going to the Sheriff's office to file a report. He responded twice "have a great day" when I continued to tell him to stop contacting. Now I have to wonder, if he repairs a couple of Kitchenaid Whirlpools a week, why didn't he know that there were no parts available, I'm sure that he'll deny saying that, but I know what he told me. I can only advise him to not have any thoughts of being retaliatory in any way because, I have a security system on my house as do all my neighbor and I live three minutes from the Sheriff's station read more

They were prompt, efficient, and quick. The serviceman was very polite as well. The only thing that I did not like was the lack of itemization on the work write up. I like to know the cost of parts, labor, and fees. My invoice was lumped together as one total price. This really has the customer at a disadvantage, because they cannot figure out what costs what. Auto repair mechanics are required to do an estimate and a price breakdown, this should be no different. I would recommend Mr. Fix It in the future. Beware of this business, they tried to cheat and defraud me. After our old washer broke we invested in a $700 Samsung washer which suddenly stopped working only 2 years after purchase. So I called Mr Fix It for an inspection; he came next day and told me the washer pump broke and would cost $270 to fix. I told him that's too much for me and that I might just buy a used washer as a replacement, he then OFFERED to BUY my "broken" washer from me for $50!!! Thankfully I said no thank you and decided to buy a new pump myself and asked a coworker who fixes stuff to help install it. My coworker came and took 5 min to look at washer, noticed a wire that was loose and actually hidden away to the side, reconnected it and washer was back working normally. (we tested the water pump too, it was fine) Mr Fix It had to have noticed the metal wire was disconnected and an easy fix that he could do on the spot but instead he decided to lie that water pump was broken and then tried to get me to sell the $700 washer to him for $50! I think he saw I spoke English with an accent and thought I would be an easy rip off for him. Ultimately, I'm out the $39 for his worthless inspection and return fees for the water pump I bought, but had I listened to him I would be out a lot more money. I called Mr Fix It to complain before posting this and he listened to me for 1 min and then HUNG UP on me with no comment. That tells you how little he cares about customer service. I called them and set up a time frame for them to come out and they gave me time frame and did not show up nor did they call.
