Why not just spit it out that you don't want to service a stacked unit and stop beating around the bush? Ridiculous place. I was willing to put up with their 5 hour window for a day as it was, but forcing me to take a day off for them to come when it's only convenient for them is not good for me. I did some internet research and found Gabriel's vacuum was not only closer to home, but had awesome reviews! Anyway, I hustled in on a Saturday morning with the vacuum and was greeted by two men in the store. While it's not the fanciest store, it's probably the best in town for a few reasons. First, they're honest and their pricing can't be beat. They sell nicer vacuums that you can't necessarily get at other stores like Walmart or Meijer. They also are very honest about the brands, what works and what would work best for you. Anyway, I told the man what we needed and left the vacuum. He said it would be ready Monday, and I was okay with that. Estimates are free here and they sell all the parts and pieces to go with what you own. you can also purchase rebuilt vacuums for a very reasonable price if you don't want to drop $300+ dollars, which I loved. About 3 hours later I got a call from the store from the same man who helped me. He said that he cleaned up the vacuum, put in an authorized bag, greased the roller and said that it needed a new bering. The cost for the new bering was $40.50 which wasn't bad. I also picked up extra 3 extra belts for home and a pack of custom vacuum bags for $20 plus tax. Total bill? a touch over $60. The vacuum retails for over $300 and requires occasional maintenience as any quality machine does. Overall I was satisfied with my experience here for a few reasons. First, the new AND used selection of vacuums for sale. I love that you can shop here if you need a new machine or a rebuilt one at a discount. Second, the honesty. We talked about repair costs on other machines and what their downfalls are. We also talked about what good selling features some of the brands have, so that helped. The knowledge base is amazing with these guys and they won't do you wrong. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and will gladly return in the future. They also have a second location in Mount Clemens but that's way to far for me to drive.

I'd been told to try a popular local shop that has several locations, but the Yelp reviews weren't stellar. Found Gabriel's and even though they were over a half hour away, the reviews on Yelp (as well as the friendliness of the guy, Tony, when I called) compelled us to spend the gas. We were not disappointed. I got one complaint (and I called them and let them know). They fixed my vacuum so well and so fast, now Pimp is gonna expect me to vacuum every damn day. Nope. Ain't happening. I mean, they cleaned the living daylights out of that sucker (pun intended). Turns out, that was why it was overheating. Heck, ... I didn't even know the darn thing was blue! However, A&E missed four scheduled appointments. In one missed appointment the repairman claimed he looked at the unit and that it needed no repairs. When a repairman did appear, he was competent, diagnosed the problem and ordered the necessary parts to be sent directly to me. He scheduled a follow-up appointment for 2 weeks to install the new parts. The parts came, but the repairman never appeared nor called. GE was apologetic and offered to pay for other repair options. My initial call to GE was in Feb 2024. The unit was finally repaired by someone other than A&E Factory Service on April 15, 2024.
