I was more than satisfied with this meal! The chicken was so tender and everything had a great taste. I added the gochujang sauce on the side and it really added an excellent taste to the food. I've eaten from Ono a few times, and last night my wife and I got takeout from them. Whether inside the restaurant or at home, the food was out of this world. I had the spicy pork bulgogi and my wife had the bibimbap, and we both talked about how delicious our food was as we ate. I particularly love how they give 3-4 little sides with most entrees. Just ordered their delivery through Uber eats and was not disappointed in the least. The food got here much earlier than expected, and still hot. I had the beef bulgogi and a side of the kimchi/pork dumplings. I could have eaten 5 servings of the dumplings, they are THAT good. Everything was delicious, and the servings are huge. The best Korean food. My favorite is the Spicy Bulgogi. Their food is always full of flavor, big servings and their sides are the best. You get to choose 4 sides. I get 2 Japchae and 2 spinach. We just recently ordered for my father in law's birthday and we weren't disappointed. My father in law ordered the Beef Bulgogi and Ramyun soup. He was happy . We also tried their shrimp dumplings and wings for appetizers for the first time and those were delicious! We will definitely order those again. Their Boba Teas are awesome as well. Flavors spot on. The Mandu was crispy, the bulgogi and spicy pork was familiar, and the rice was just like home. The soup that came with the lunchbox was like a mild doengjangjjige with seaweed but it tasted right. The only thing that was a bit unexpected was the macaroni salad was a liytle more heavy / mayonnaise- y than like how they make it at L&L. We got take out. The beef Kalbi was great but they packed the salad greens with the hot stiff so it all came wilted. The kimchi was pretty good. I'd skip the wings. They don't taste like other Korean fries chicken I had. They're just covered in something that tastes like General Tsao's sauce. Not impressed. read more

Buyer Beware. Have bought here three separate occasions and have gotten drastically worse. Kalbi - Sides are from can and the rice taste and feels like it has been sitting out for hours before it ended on our plates. I will says that the short rib tasted okay. However not worth $20+. Ae's Thai and BBQ sells some really good BBQ. Chicken katsu - Chicken tastes old and there was random chunks of dark meat mixed In; Makes me wonder if this chicken went bad. Unfortunately didn't notice that fun fact until I had already started to eat. All sides tasted out of a can. Not with worth $19 price tag. UJ Bristol sells very good Katsu and ribs. Bubble drink - Very sweet and powdery. Not worth it when you can order bubble tea from Bao Dumplings & Bao tea for an extra $2 and is so much better. Tonkatsu (pork) Ramyun - Flavorless and also I have never had fried breaded pork in a tonkatsu. I haven't found a good place in the area but Edison and New Brunswick has plenty. read more

This was our first visit. The food was absolutely delicious. We knew we were off to a good start after our first bite of the kimchi and pork mandoo. Banchan choices were plentiful and tasted terrific! We went with kimchi, radish kimchi, pickled radish, bean sprouts, japchae, potato in soy sauce, and the fish cake...each bite was perfect! Being that I make beef bulgogi at home we opted for the spicy pork bulgogi. A perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The pork was incredibly tender! Everything was served steaming hot with plenty of rice. Teresa was terrific. She was so kind and attentive and made good recommendations. I hope this is a place that stays around for a long time! Perfect homemade cooking that reminds me of the cooking my friend's mom did when we were kids and I was first introduced to Korean food (and have been chasing the dragon for something equally delicious since; I found it today!). I stumbled upon this place searching through yelp. We decided to give it a try and can't say its much of a Hawaiian/Korean place like yelp has it listed it's more Korean/ Japanese . Now my 3 stars is solely $$$factor . I eat Korean all the time and I have to say pricing is a bit steep for what to you get. Flavor wise the food was good . We ordered a pork and beef Bulgogi which flavor wise the beef had a bit more flavor than the pork. My husband ordered the lunch box meals . Which were $13/$14 you got a decent amount we didn't get the miso soup as listed but it was ok. My older daughter ordered the Hawaiian Poke which was a pretty hearty bowl but it needed more flavor on the fish itself. I ordered the Kalbi meal which I was sort of expecting a bigger meal for $19 it was in a take out container with rice , 3 pieces of kalbi cut in half on top which was tasty along with the sides I picked which is the normals picks you would get going to a Korean restaurant. If Ono means delicious, the name of this new hot spot is spot-on! I've heard lots of great things about the food, so naturally I had to check it out for myself. Hubs had his very first poke bowl and he's officially a convert (he may be looking at tickets to Hawaii as I type). The complex flavors blend beautifully and it's so rich in protein (he made me add that - gym rat). I tried the spicy oil poke bowl. (Pro-tip. This one is hot, not sweating and burning hot, but definitely spicy hot, think twice before being overzealous on this one!). The spiciness was evenly layered and bounced well from the coolness of the other flavors. The bubble tea was cool and refreshing (hubs first time with that too- loved the strawberry). The sweet and spicy wings were perfection in a basket and a must get (they take about 20 mins. But you can't rush perfection). They've only been open a few weeks but they already have regulars, a few we met while waiting for our order. We all agreed that this spot was definitely one we have to get back to regularly. I was craving Korean Fried Chicken, so I decided to give Ono a try. I ordered both the Naked and Sweet & Spicy "Korean Style Chicken Wings". These were nothing like the Korean Fried Chicken I've had at other places in Jersey and NYC. While the fried chicken was crispy and tasted good, the breading used was very different and nothing like what I have had in the past. I was very disappointed. :( read more

I've been to this Korean restaurant a couple of times now, and I walk away full and wondering how this little gem is only down the street from me?! It's a very casual place, mostly take-outs but you can certainly eat dinner there. Clean and spacious where you're not on top of other tables. The food is so good, just try it! Things to note: the beef bulgogi and the beef short ribs are just the thing if you want a beef dish. We also had the pork and kimchi dumplings for an app-my personal favorite I could have made a dinner out of them! Perfectly cooked, pan fried with the crunchiness on the outside but still easy to bite through. With the entree you get 4 sides, you won't be disappointed. And you won't leave hungry! Wow, very impressed. This place received respectable reviews so I had to try it. First impression when I walked in was it is clean, organized and has the right set up for their business. Now onto the good stuff...... the food. I am not familiar with this type of cuisine so I went with something I figured I could not go wrong with, garlic chicken. Very glad I chose this as it was delish. They give you 4 sides to choose from, they are not overbearing as the portions were just right. The food is absolutely amazing, and they make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door!
