I'm so happy that we have a location in Esco now! Previously the closest location was in Lake Elsinore, so we didn't get to eat it very often. I always get orders to go, so ordering on the app makes it easier. It also cuts down your wait time if you're not eating there anyway. My Mom's favorite is the fried fish and shrimp, so I usually get the Seafood Mix Plate. It's fried fish, fried shrimp, and bbq chicken. It's enough food for us to share, and maybe have a little left. We also swap out one of the rice for another macaroni salad. Be aware that their mac salad isn't vegetarian because it contains tuna. It also comes with steamed vegetables, usually broccoli and cabbage. I like that they have self-service katsu and teriyaki sauces that you can fill containers to use with your meal. All in all, a pretty easy pickup food experience. read more

Tried Ono Hawaiian BBQ and had a great experience overall. The drive-thru is super convenient, and there's plenty of parking and seating if you want to dine in. I used the drive-thru, great location right off the freew. I really liked how customizable the meals are, there are tons of sides and options to mix and match, which makes it easy to find something for everyone. All of the food was flavorful and made fresh. We ended up trying a lot of items to share. The Hawaiian BBQ Mix Plate was a great sampler with big portions, and the Chicken Katsu was crispy and best when paired with sauce. The Kalua Pork was smoky, and you can't go wrong with Spam Musubi, it's a must. The Loco Moco was rich and hearty, and the Teriyaki Chicken was cooked just right with great flavor. We also loved the BBQ Short Ribs and Garlic Shrimp, both full of flavor. The Macaroni Salad was creamy and perfect with all of the proteins. So glad we stopped here after spotting it while driving! This location opened recently, and it's a great fast food meets Hawaiian hospitality vibe. The interior is very clean and spacious. Even for a busy Saturday evening, the lines moved quickly. They have two registers and two self-order kiosks, which is super convenient. Since they cook to order, we were told the fish takes a bit longer, but our food was ready for dine-in within 15 mins not bad at all! They serve everything in to-go containers even if you eat there, which is a smart move since the value is incredible and the portions are massive. One plate can easily feed two people, but I opted for the $8 Fish Aloha Plate Special that's runs until April. I got the grilled fish and it did not disappoint! So delicious and tender over a bed of rice and spring mix. For the price and the amount of food you get, it is totally worth it. I also ordered a mini beef plate to go. While the beef was tasty, I wasn't a huge fan of the macaroni salad or the steamed veggies which was mostly cabbage. As for dessert, I got the guava pie and it tasted like a giant pop tart! My husband and I tried this place yesterday for dinner. Place is very spacious. They did a great job converting the old Carl's Jr to this place. My husband ordered a mini meal with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. He didn't want the rice, macaroni salad and steamed veggies and opted to pay extra for the Spring salad mix. I ordered a mini meal with Chicken Katsu with the rice, macaroni salad and steamed veggies. His chicken was on the chewy side. Salad was fine, just need more dressing. As for mine, I do like that I can get the Katsu sauce for myself. I finished my mini meal. The katsu breading was on the bland side but I do like that it adhered to the chicken way better than the other places I've been that serves chicken katsu. The other reason for the 3 stars was because one of their order kiosks was not working properly. Instead of them closing the kiosks, they left it open so anytime others used it, it was doing the same problem especially if they were aware of the problem since the other day. The establishment was clean and efficiently serving their customers. I just felt the food was much too salty and the options weren't as authentic or diverse as I would have liked. Absolute catastrophe for L&L Hawaiian Lovers. I, myself, too loved L&L Hawaiian but man, oh man. Ono Hawaiian brings a new standard to fresh Hawaiian food. When you open the door it's always welcoming and the workers actually look like they're happy to be working. I always love coming into spots where the owner ensures the store is nice, it's quite spacious and I like the modern and warm vibe. The facility has open seating and a decent space, however it can be confusing to figure out who is and isn't in line with how the self check out is set up. Lunch time was busy, but service was pretty quick. Staff is very nice, feels like they're still getting into the swing of things, but no issues on my end. The portions are big. My husband and I each ordered the Aloha plates. 2 scoops of rice, a scoop of mac salad, and 2 proteins was a lot of food for any plate lunch. The food was really good, but definitely be careful of the sauces. Appreciate the staff individually bagging each plate lunch to catch the juices from the meats in each meal. Each meal was at least 2-3 meals for us, and for the price it was worth it! We also ordered spam musubi and the guava pie. Had to try it out and see what it brings to this area. The staff here is very welcoming and friendly. The make sure you're not lost and answer any questions you may have. The drive thru isn't open currently, there was a sign saying it would open soon. Parking lot is pretty big and has enough spots during a busy time. Inside is nice and they have restrooms for customers, and tablets you can order on if it's very busy. The seating inside is fairly nice and well lit, with a Hawaiian vibe of course. We got one beef and chicken plate and one Hawaiian BBQ mix both with no macaroni salad. The food was delicious and was cooked perfectly, the sauce they used was flavorful. The rice was simple sticky jasmine rice. Underneath the meat there were also steamed vegetables. We will definitely go again and enjoy the Hawaiian food. The experience at Ono is unique, the service is very friendly, yet can be slow when busy. But the food and variety of it makes up the difference. The decor is light and airy with a tropical feel. Decided to try Ono Hawaiian BBQ today and was disappointed. I went through the drive through and was told I could not have a drink with half diet coke and half regular coke. I had to choose one or the other. When asked why I was told it would take to long to make. I ordered the BBQ beef which was very tough with lots of gristle. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, I ordered 8 mixed BBQ plates for pick up prior closing driving an hour away just to treat my coworkers on the overnight shift. Only modification was 3 Mac's 1 rice and requested Mac salad separately packed to keep cold in cooler and they kindly met my request. I deducted 1 star because I drove the hour to work only to open plate at our lunch time to find all 8 plates, the short rib was replaced with chicken katsu. The food was good as always. However we had it delivered via DoorDash. One main was poorly packaged and leaked into the other containers. It was an awful mess. I have a complaint. I went through the drive-thru the other day and noticed--while I was in the parking lot--that there were three employees from this restaurant behaving very unprofessionally. They were sitting in a car drinking; suddenly, they got out and were walking around drinking beer. Since the drive-thru line was moving very slowly, I could see everything that happened that day. These people were getting drunk, and then--all of a sudden--they went inside the store to start working! Seriously, that is just not right. If you want to drink, take the day off and go to a bar--don't do it at work. The two women put on perfume--I assume so they wouldn't smell bad--and then went in to start their shift. When I finally reached the drive-thru window, they told me to park and come inside to pick up my food because it was going to take a while. So, while I was inside, I took the opportunity to report these employees--but I got a huge shock when I realized that one of *them* was the person serving me, as she works as both a cashier and a supervisor! And to top it all off, the other two--the other woman and the man--were the ones actually preparing my food! I was in shock: how can these people be drinking and then preparing food for customers? That shows a complete lack of professionalism regarding their job. I will never come to this location again; I am thoroughly disappointed in your staff, and I hope the company takes action regarding what is going on here.
