I think this may be the only Filipino place in Esco. I'm so glad I found them. I ordered a tray of palabok half order SAME DAY! They were able to fulfill my order when other viet restaurants would not. When I arrived I was amazed at the sisig, diniguan and Filipino spaghetti they had out. They have so much to offer and I can't wait to try more. The sisig was one of the bests I've had.

Came here on a Saturday morning. Restaurant is located in a strip mall so there's a lot of parking. Although they open early, I would suggest to get here after 10:30am so there's more selections. Food: 2 Item Combo Pork Sinigang Chicharon Pancit Tocino and longanisa with rice BBQ stick The chicharon was the highlight for me. The pork sinigang tasted good but the meat was hmmm tough and maybe previously frozen hard, cooked, then chilled again. But, again the soup was delicious. The tocino was also delicious however the longanisa to me is a hot dog. I had ask again what that meat was and they said longanisa. Had to also ask what dialect or where in the Philippines is the style of cooking is from and one of the workers said Ilocano. So, I'm Ilocano and the Ilocano longenisa I know is with vinegar flavor and not like a hot dog. Oh well. The suman was equally as good too. Service was great and there's a little market for some Asian items. I will definitely return to try the other dishes.

Great food choices, really flexible with catering. It is hard to locate, and parking isn't the best; but their food tastes good and they're the only Filipino place in Escondido and I like that I don't have to drive all the way south just to satisfy my Filipino food cravings, especially if I don't want to cook.

Does anyone know if you can order 100 pieces lumpia same day?

I just did yesterday for pick up today. Im pretty sure you can as long as you give them some time to fry them up. Never tried this place before but my "go to" was out of lumpia (never heard that before either...) so I'm willing to give K &K a try!

I also loved how saucy they were, although I felt they could've used a tad more seasoning. Thankfully, they have condiments up front, so I just added some fish sauce. Their pancit was also very good. I also got to try the curry empanada, although it was a little dry and didn't have much flavor. Their laing (coconut taro leaves) was bomb--so rich and flavorful. So good with white rice. My husband also enjoyed the lumpia's. Service was nice and friendly. I was excited to see they sold Betapac Curry Powder for under $4. I can't wait to make my own Jamaican curry at home with it! R&B FILIPINO CUISINE @ MIRA MESA…read more Parking was super easy since there's parking available right out front, and there were plenty of spots when I came on a Friday evening after work. Just note that they close pretty early, around 5:30 PM on weekdays and 4 PM on weekends, so definitely plan ahead if you're trying to make it there later in the day. The restaurant is located in a busier area with other restaurants and businesses nearby, but once you walk in, it has a really chill and welcoming vibe. They have a bunch of Filipino snacks and items displayed on the side, and the whole place feels very authentic and homey. The setup reminded me a little of places like Chipotle or Panda Express where you move down the line and choose what you want on your plate. I got plain white rice as my base, but you can also get pancit, which are glass noodles with veggies, for a small extra charge depending on the plate size. For my sides, I got the crispy pork sisig and lumpia rolls, which are thin crispy Filipino egg rolls. For two sides and one base, it came out to around $16, and they loaded the plate with so much food that it easily became two meals. My boyfriend got the spicy squid along with a pork and liver dish, and everything was super flavorful. Overall, I'd highly recommend stopping by here if you want authentic Filipino food that feels homemade and comforting. My boyfriend is Filipino and even he said it tasted really good, which definitely says a lot. The portions are huge, the food is flavorful, and the whole place really gives that classic mom-and-pop shop feel.

No one in the kitchen expects you to take a bite of lumpia, or taste a bit of lechon with its shatteringly crisp skin, and have a moment of ecstatic pleasure, where you think to yourself (and say to whoever is nearby), "God-DAMN! That's the best thing I've ever eaten. They expect you to have that reaction at your Tita's house, in her backyard, at a birthday party for someone you're sort of related to. Turo-turo is for sating your appetite with large portions of rich, flavorful food, then going back to work. It's for grabbing a mixed bag of dinner plates and side dishes and desserts, then heading home to your family, where everyone is hungry, that kind of hungry where you talk with your mouth full while you eat, but no one minds, because they're doing the same thing. It's for leftovers - awesome leftovers - that taste as good as they did the first day, maybe better, planned-for leftovers that help keep the kitchen clean and the family full and happy. It's for comfort food, though I can't imagine anyone eating a piled-high meal of pancit and adobo and pinakbet, then pushing back from the table and saying, "You know, I feel really... comfortable." R&B serves all these things, and more, for all of these reasons. And maybe it's not excellent, but it's damned good, and it does the job it's meant to do.

When we walked in, the staff were so friendly and went over the specials and also let us know what they didn't have for that morning. UBE CHEESECAKE: I wanted the minis but they were out at the time, so I ended up getting the full sized one. It's still not too big so perfect for 1-2 people. Good flavor and not overly sweet! Overall, great Filipino food although pricey for what it is; I got a bit of sticker shock when my total showed up. It's also a bit out of the way, but I'd definitely return to try other menu items if I'm ever passing though the area again. Definitely just a once in a while visit for me anyways because of the cost.

The bolt fries had curly fries, longanisa, guac, cheese and sour cream. Those were my favorite. The flavors blended well together. The shrimp burrito was ok. The rice was hard and old so it was difficult to eat. I would probably recommend skipping the burrito, hence the 4/5. I'm not sure what changed in the kitchen but I pretty bummed on the last 5 times I've gone. I get the California every time I go and add guac for reference, I'm a simple guy. Under-seasoned meat or not enough meat, soggy or dry/stale fries, light on guacamole when added sometimes, missing cheese. The consistency has been really off unfortunately for a pretty simple burrito. My last time I went I ordered the usual California burrito no sour cream add guac, got the burrito and it had sour cream and guac.... But no meat???? It was a big tortilla with sour cream and guacamole only in it lol. I laughed at the mix up and the customer service was great getting a refund (didn't request it they just gave it to me) and replacement burrito. Still decided it was my last time going there after that as even the replacement tasted like the meat had no seasoning on it. Writing this review to hope they turn things around some time in the future, I miss coming here but can't justify spending that much $ for a burrito I'm worried to be bummed about....again.
