    Menu trio
    Godwin T.

Venue 4/5 Located inside Bay Adelaide Centre food court (shared with the Scotiabank buildings), so it's super convenient if you're downtown. PATH access makes it easy year-round. Lots of seating in the food court, but it's definitely more of a grab-and-go spot. Parking around Temperance or nearby garages is available, just expect to pay for it. Hours are limited to office times (closes around 5pm), so plan accordingly. Service 4/5 Team was welcoming and easy to talk to. Had a chance to chat with the owner, who clearly cares about what he's building and was happy to walk through the menu and concept. Service felt genuine, not rushed despite the food court setting. Food 4/5 Tried the trio (spicy tuna mayo, scallop, miso beef), then went back for the spam (luncheon meat) and a side of seaweed salad. Everything is made fresh, with rice kept warm and properly textured. Good variety of flavours, which makes it easy to mix and match. Portions are decent, though slightly larger sizes would've made it feel more complete. Solid quick stop if you're downtown and want something different from the usual food court rotation. Surprisingly easy to come back and try more.

My new friend and I came to this place for a yelp event and we got to try a good selection of onigiri (she got ready made, I got freshly made). It's a very tiny shop so it helps to be mindful of what you want to order before entering but everything is out on display and very intuitive. Staff was friendly and polite and answered questions to the best of their ability. I love that they have vegan and gluten free options. We ordered 3 onigiris and a side. I got niku miso (which was sweet salty and savoury. I loved the inclusion of the ginger to bring out the sweetness in the sauce, would go really great with a beer), the salmon (very salty and would go great with a sweet green tea), and umeboshi (I am biased and I love the salty briny taste of pickled plum so this was my favourite). I got the chance to try marinated quail eggs and it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for me, but does make an excellent side dish. I got the sweet white peach which was marinated in a syrup. It was the perfect palate cleanser. The next time I come back I'd love to try the uni and Unagi!

Felt like getting a snack so finally wanted to try the new Onigiri spot at Bay Adelaide Centre. Got the trio set because it seemed like a "better" deal, $15.95 lol. I got the spicy tuna, miso beef and plum. They made it fresh right infront of you, so it was still warm by the time I got it. The miso beef probably had the best umami compared to the other two. Portion was decent, but not massive. Service was quick and staff were friendly. The store was clean and bright. Was I full? Definitely not, so don't expect it to be a good lunch option.

Visited the place as part of Yelp Elite experience. Always wanted to try Onigiri as I am quite curious about Japanese cuisine. For those who are not familiar with Onigiri, it's Japanese handheld rice balls made from steamed white rice, with a suacy, meaty filling in the center. They're often shaped into triangles or cylinders, and frequently wrapped in nori seaweed. Located at Bay Adelaide Center, next to Deloitte office, the place is at a great location for office goers looking to grab lunch or something on the go. As part of the Yelp deal, got the Trio set with a side. Ordered the Niku Miso, Uni(Paid $3 extra to upgrade) and Spicy Tuna along with Ajitama (Soya/Mirin brined boiled Quail eggs). The Onigiri was freshly made and warm. Of the 3 the Niku Miso was the most Delicious. I wished it had more filling. I had upgraded one Onigiri to Uni and each bite was smooth and has a delicate taste. Spicy Tuna was quite basic but good. However, the quail eggs were quite a surpise. They tasted amazing. Overall it was quite a nice experience. Next time I will try the cold onigiri to get the crisp texture of seaweed. Also would try their newly introduced Scallop Onigiri. To Foodies, Do give this place a try if you like Japanese cusine or if you like to try out new flavours. A bit similar to Sushi but more of an On-the-go snack. Also, they have a lot of flavors and which are quite good. To Management: Wonderful staff, Good variety of Onigiris, also a great location. I loved the Niku Miso, but it can be awesome with some more filling. Same goes for other Onigiris. You have the flavors, add more fillings. If I may suggest, try to introduce some nice Happy Hours for those who would like to try Onigiri for the first time. Will help spread the word more. Overall, it was quite a good experience. The Crabmayo Onigiri was was delicious as was the Spam Musubi. It was nice having warm and fresh onigiri compared to the ready-made ones. The cashier was friendly and the store was neat and clean. Highly recommend!

3 onigri and a side salad

Not much to stay about the ambiance as it's a take out only spot with not much standing room and no tables or chairs. The service was good staff were very kind and patient with me while I decided what to order and overall they had quick service I got my fresh onigiri about 5 minutes after placing my order. The food was great very fresh and warm there was filling in every bite which I appreciated and the rice was cooked perfectly. My favourite was the miso beef. The potatoe salad was also good packed with flavour and seasoned well not over salty at all I personally could've done without the egg. Overall 8/10

1/5 :( the toppings felt more like a very light spread instead of a balanced amount of toppingg

Food 3/5 Service 5/5 Vibe 3/5 New Onigiri place in Toronto (accessible through PATHS) so i decided to give it a try! A very nice little store but no seats. They also sell Matcha powder, Japanese snacks, and others additional to Onigiri. I ordered the Uni, Salmon and Spicy Tuna and a side of broccoli's. The broccoli was delicious but the onigiri were kinda meh... you can see my picture that the stuffing inside the onigiri are quite minimal i paid extra for the Uni, and kinda regret getting it ngl. I do love that everything is made fresh in house and the onigiri are warm, but im not 100% sure if ill come back for them... sorry...

Note: review part of Yelp Elite experience Came here on a Tuesday around 2pm. Super easy to find -- right off of the PATH under Bay Adelaide Center, closest to the Scotia Plaza entry. The service was fast and so so kind -- it took me back to the care you get IN Japan, but it's here in Torontos financial district! Food lived up to my expectations. Freshly made, fast takeout perfect for a workday lunch. I got Set C with umeboshi, niku miso, and spicy tuna, with a side of potato salad. Everything was just so well executed -- the rice was perfectly cooked and onigiri filled very generously! The salad was so so creamy and you can taste the Japanese mayo used (I think!). Well balanced meal. 10/10 recommend!

This Japanese takeout place focuses on Onigiri and side dishes. They currently have a limited menu with 5 onigiri and 4 side dishes. I ordered the Tuna Mayo Onigiri ($5.75). It was delicious. They soft-opened on 2025-12-09. The will grand-open in Jan 2026. It is a small place, with no seating area. This is their only location, so far. They charge $0.25 for a paper bag. There is no free WiFi. The store is wheelchair accessible. There are washrooms in the mall. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-257

    Salmon onigiri
    Susan H.

Onigiri co is the newest Japanese onigiri spot in the path. It's a self serve ready to go spot. Apps and rice balls start around the $5 range. The staff are Japanese, very nice, and helpful. The feel of the location is modern, fitting the bay-adelaide building aesthetic. I purchased the Salmon onigiri. The salmon and seaweed were well seasoned, fresh taste, contains sesame seeds. Salmon is lightly salted and delicious! The pricing is a little high compared to the other vendors selling onigiri in the path, however, the convenience from my office makes it worth the go. Overall, I expect to be returning here to try out more of the menu in the future.

Probably the closest thing to the onigiri I had in Japan that I've tried in the city. Of course it helps that they make it super fresh and with authentic ingredients, as opposed to other places like Kibo let's say that are doing it en masse, but Onigiri Co has quickly become a go to for lunch in the PATH!

I enjoyed the onigiri variety and the sides. it's a good location and easy to get a quick lunch.

This is a good spot if you are looking for a fast meal. The Onigiri is done in a traditional way so the seaweed isnt crispy the tuna is canned. The rice is done ok. The service is friendly. The side dishes are pretty good. Quail eggs are marinated and not salty. The overall filling is a bit light. I had tuna, salmon and uni. Not sure if uni is worth the premium.

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

We got a bunch of dishes to share and overall liked most things but some things (like the oyster) unfortunately didn't hit as well. Wagyu - thin slices but very tender and very flavorful with the cheese - surprised by how well the flavor combo worked out. Tofu - easily one of my fave agedashi tofu. Huge tofu slices with very chewy outer texture, a bit gelatinous . Really went well with the sauce and toppings Carbonara - nice chewy texture to the udon, not too soft and not too firm. The sauce was nice and creamy. Not as truffley as I thought it would be, wish it was a little more but it was still pretty good Oyster - least favorite of all the dishes we got today. It was a bit sour and the cheese felt like it didn't really help the flavor profile of the oysters. It was super oily from the cheese, felt like it was drowning in cheese/oil flavor Cod - it looks good but something is lacking, maybe in taste? Feel like maybe the marinade did not penetrate enough. The texture is still nice and soft , with a crisp skin . Also was a bit too oily for our liking, compared to other miso cod we have had. It was also a relatively smaller piece of cod. Overall, the appetizers were really good! The oyster and cod were a bit disappointing. Would come back for the carbonara and the other appetizers mentioned though!
