I only started coming to CSL Plasma because they pay me $100 per donation and I'm able to donate twice a week. So, that's $800 per month. Either way, I'm hopefully saving a life. Whether I donate here or at One Blood, but here I'm compensated more than just a bottle of juice and a bag of chips. The staff here was professional and the facilities were clean. I got there with a wave of people expecting the same thing. A las it takes 8 visits to get the 650 whole. The good news is that they pay you in chunks. Instead of waiting for the lump sum. I can understand why this place has low reviews but it wast as rough as other people stated. It is a long process if you are new donor n it looks like way longer if u keep coming back. Theres two lines, i came 1.5 hours earlier thinking i needed to fill paperwork. Nope, they bump me up cuz someone didn't show, the first young miss took me it for picture n recruitment file, second one took my quick vitals. Found out i shrunken 3 inches!! Or their scale is wacked. Eh no biggie. Then i went to the computer to get asked the exact same question over n over again in different ways. Took me 30-45 mins to complete cuz the questions are a bit cray cray. Then i moved to the Medical Madam, that took too long cuz we started chatting each other up lol but she did her obligations fine. She gave me snacks and a pediasure! Yum Listen to my heart, hear my lungs, answer stuff etc. when i got to the plasma machines? The nurses had a hard time getting my veins to cooperate. The second madam also but i still got paid for showing up. So win win lol i will try again later this week. I really want the rest of that $650. They gave me a debit card where i got my money already sent. App looks neat. I recommend you bring a hoodie for the plasma area. Its cold there, eat big meals 1-2 hours before coming. Gave blood here for the first time in awhile. First time I have ever in Florida…read more I just want to say that everyone should donate blood, you're not only doing something to save a person's life but you get treated like a princess (or prince) when you are doing it. They give you soda and snacks, free t-shirt and whatever else they have free available at the time. I received a free ticket to the strawberry festival. The person who drew my blood was absolutely amazing older woman. We ended up talking about prostitutes in Portland, OR at one point. Great conversation by the way! After giving blood I started to feel light headed and getting a cold sweat, nearly blacked out. (It tends to happen with me because the blood takes FOREVER to get out of me and especially when I haven't donated in awhile, so it probably wont happen to you). Once they noticed it, they were right on top of it with a wet cloth on my forehead and neck. They brought down my chair so I was lying down and held the sprite for me to drink it and got me a rice crispies treat until it went away. This was the best place to give blood I have been to so far! Got to spin for prizes on your second donation of the week and the amount reimbursed went up over time. Several months ago they were taken over by grifoils and it's gone down hill ever since this happened and they have reduced the reimbursement from $150 weekly with 2 donations in one week. It went down to $135 weekly and now again to $90 weekly. There must be some type of mismanagement going on They are almost ALWAYS short staffed I have been here when there only one phlebotomist for an entire room full of patients. The people who do the intake and phlebotomists are but I really great but i get the impression they are not treated well. The management seems seem to interested in laughing and joking amongst themselves rather then see what they can do to help their overworked staff. I used to tell everyone what a great place it was and recommended it to MULTIPLE people. One coworker actually did start right when grifoils took over. I feel really bad that I did now especially how I raved about how great it was. I won't recommend it to anyone else because it's hardly worth it anymore. So dissatisfied and disappointed with this new company. If you are thinking about donating I wouldn't bother. They don't appreciate their staff and and CERTAINLY not their donors. Incredibly bad business. The girl said she would report it to management, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Just know that no matter what their website says they don't take walkins. Kind of glad they didn't allow me to donate after reading their reviews. Sounds like a horrible place!!
