I just wanted to give a special thanks to one particular person at Octapharma Plasma. He is very professional, and I never even feel it when he inserts the needle for my donation. He has a very gentle touch and makes the whole process comfortable every time. His skill, patience, and professionalism truly stands out -- perfection every visit. Thanks Jeremy !! read more

This is crazy this place is extremely slow. And has hardly any employees. There is to reason return donors should have to wait three hrs to be seen. The supervisory staff stays in their offices instead of helping on the floor. Their is a reason why this location can't keep employees. Maybe management and corporate practices need to be inspected and changed read more

I had a positive check in experience, but was extremely disappointed with my actual donation. The phlebotomist was on FaceTime while asking me identifying questions, "social security number." and seemed to have no idea what he was doing while sticking a needle in my arm, leaving me in pain. The care and HIPPAA concerns of this place are extremely poor. read more

It's annoying when you've been waiting almost an hour & an employee who is donating just goes & gets screened & takes his donor sheet back & sits down. Then he gets stuck & is almost finished with his donation while we're still in the waiting area. It's bad enough that employees get paid more to donate than we do but to be that obvious about getting to cut in front of everyone else. read more

The facility itself is small and outdated, they are severely understaffed- it takes over an hour to get thru the registration line because they're too cheap to have more than one employee tending to the line, and they're also cheap with their payments to donors. they pay the least out of all the plasma centers for new donors, you only get 100$ for the first 2 donations and then it drops to 65$ possibly less. They make thousands and thousands of dollars off each bottle of plasma they collect from the donors but they can't pay them a fair portion? especially considering they'll have you sitting for hours and hours to donate because they have sub par employees and not enough of them to boot. embarrassing all around read more

Big shout out to TiTi and Shaun today . Center opened at 9 am and they were amazing at getting us through to the donor floor... Shaun is definitely a TEAM player ! TiTi organized the line. Excellent! read more

Been donating at the Armenia Ave Tampa location for a few months now, my 1st time there was quicker than anyplace I've ever donated at I was in and out in less than 2 hours (donating included in that time period). Haven't had any issues with the process or the staff most of whom are very nice and professional, there are two staff members i won't allow to stick me because I witnessed 1 of them go from a donor to another then another without changing gloves then there's another one that just doesn't pay attention when sticking you and jams the needle so far in it physically hurts and you have bruise before you even finish donating, and if you return well that bruise is still there your told you can't donate even though you brought to the managers attention at the time it happened. Other than that my only complaint would be the prepaid card they use, it absolutely sux you can't transfer $ to bank account or any where for that matter, has a list of ATM's that are supposedly free but in reality they're not, get charged when card is declined even though it shouldn't have been or if it's locked or not enough time (which varies greatly) lapses between unlocking card and the transaction. I've had it declined 20 minutes after unlocking it and try getting help that's the biggest joke. They need to go with another card company. At the time of this review they are also the highest paying donation center for repeat donors that I know of. read more

I see you key and Sean. I was a first time donor and they were both super nice and professional. Made sure I was comfortable and safe. You guys are lucky to have them both. Thank you guys! read more

Was told over the phone it only takes 1 and a half to two hours for a new donor. They took 10 minutes just to approach and ask me what I wanted. When I get to the center they said 3 or more and that and since I showed up at 5:20 they wouldn't see me since they stop taking new people at 5. I explained I work construction out in manatee county and have to shower before coming because I'm soaked in sweat after work and I'd only be able to come in at 515-520 as a result and I can't come on weekends. He just didn't care and responded with a complaint about how much everyone has to work and how no one wants anymore work at the end of the day. read more

the Tampa location is the worst place to doNate, the staff sucks the machines barely work, and as a regular donor I'm strongly suggest anybody to go to Pinellas County instead of tampa. My name is Deon Lewis and I approve this message read more

Over all great experience. They have veteran nurses and phlebotomists on staff that are very friendly our going and the team Work that is reflected here mirrors that of high turn over plastic surgery clinics. The wait was pretty long for a new donor. Took just under 3 hours total. They have incentives for donors and if you have the free time it's an easy way to make Some gas money. I went while my kids were in school and was totally fine afterwards. The plasma machines they use are top of the line and the actual donation time is pretty seamless and quick. There are better times to go than in the morning. I was told that Friday's and sundays are the best days when you will experience less riff ears and questionable characters coming in to make their survival money. I was turned off by the reviews to begin with but after experiencing it first time it wasn't bad. The facility is clean and organized just be sure to check in at front desk as a first time donor or you will waste your time standing around trying to figure out where to go next. read more

Very unprofessional, workers dont care about the donors and just talk all day. One guy that works here just talks and talks and doesnt look while sticking you. Morris takes 30 mins sticking one person. read more

Everyone in Florida knows how hot the summer can be, if you are in the hot sun all day and come inside and immediately take your temperature of course you temperature will be a little above what they consider normal, they denied me because my temperature was at a 99 instead of 95. I don't think that's fair I think they should at least let you cool down then take your temperature again now if it turns out the same then it is what it is but I swear certain people who screen you will purposely refuse you. read more

I don't understand why we still get rewards for being a great weekly donor ...and they don't honor the express pass at Armenia in Tampa just a few moments ago I said hey I would like to use my express pass I received the email on the 4th of September 2023 and it's the 11th of September 2023 we have 2 weeks to use the express pass from date received the email and it hasn't been a full week ...this is bullshit read more

Awful manager who thinks it's ok to just verbally attack the patients. Always in an argument whenever she decides to come out of then office. I would be ashamed to have her as on of my managers. read more

I have been donating for a few years. Whenever Samuel R. at the Tampa location sticks me, he never asks if I'm allergic to iodine, he never asks me my name and DOB. Then when he disconnects me, he doesn't ask me if I'm allergic to adhesives and he doesn't tell me how much I get paid or my next donation date. He is the only one who doesn't do any of that. I know the employees are required to do it, because everyone else does those things. It's as if he thinks he doesn't have to because he has been there for a long time. read more

This place has wonderful workers. Positive atmosphere. I loved being here for the time. I felt really comfortable and heard

I have been coming to this location for over a year now. And antonio is by far one of the best workers i have seen. He shows respect and understanding as well as helps with anything needed. This location has people who actually care which is rare. Good job guys read more

This is my second time donating and so far my experience has been good. I will be coming back.

Its ok some days. There are some honest an great communication skilled employees here that can get you by without fustration two of the employees that i can mention is Nathaniel and GiGi they rock an need a raise or a promotion! Thank you for reading, Have a bless day:) read more

I was a first time donor and there was no one at the Receptionist desk to let people know what to do and when they did come they were very unwelcoming the touch screen questionnaire booted me out constantly after the first blood test they did I just left the people there made me feel like I needed them or something bad vibe I won't go back read more

The dirtiest plasma donation center i have ever been to with some if the worst and unprofessional staff maybe ever...? Mostly talking about the woman who works there with the diamond studded piercing under her eye who just rolled her eyes at me, sighed, yelled at me and brought upon a pretty awful experience.  She struggled to operate the blood pressure cuff and take vitals so maybe corporate needs to take a look at who's in charge of training the staff? I reported her behavior to the assistant manager( woman with the brown hair) and she didn't really seem to care at all, I don't even think she made eye contact with me, just asked for my DOB and typed on her computer then after voicing my concerns she just replied with something along the lines of "everyone loves her" uh ok? How does that answer addresses anything I just spoke to you about in any way, shape or form? I know this place is HURTIN for staff but man...they set the bar so low, it honestly feels like it's everyone's first day, everyday. Lastly, the bathroom is just flooded with urine, they usually just throw a mound of paper towels over and wait for it to dry and or evaporate. The condition of this facility and how unprofessional and unsanitary it is will be sure to get someone hurt eventually. I will most definitely NEVER be back here but i know they're located in a low income area (as most of these places usually are) so they will continue to prey on those who rely on plasma donations to make ends meet. read more

This place is very good and pays well. Definitely a good place to go when you need a little financial help.

Hands down the worst plasma donation center I've ever been too. They are usually understaffed and instead of management helping they sit in their offices with no care in the world. They have employees walk off check in and employees walking around not helping with over 20 people in line to wait. Waited 3 hours and hadn't even sat down to donate. Other centers are 100% more efficient. read more

first time coming in today and everyone was nice until I had a vein complication. The lady taking my plasma was really kind and tried helping but the worker "Tyler" was horrible. He was the rudest worker i've ever seen at a plasma donating center since i've donated at CSL plasma in the past with no issues. Not only was Tyler consistently telling the lady taking my plasma to send me home because he wants to get the everyone sat for the day even though it's 4:30pm. Then at the end when I didn't donate enough plasma because of the vein issues the lady was generously saying with the plasma donated and be stuck twice i would receive $40 but NO tyler had an issue and argued saying i would only receive 15 he went back and forth bickering until he realized he was wrong. Just annoying to have a worker constantly complaint about you 10 feet away from you. That Tyler guy ruined the experience and made it so i simply won't return. Overall would of been a decent experience if it weren't for the lack of professionalism displayed by that certain worker. read more

went yesterday to donate, and almost a fight broke out on the donating floor! i know they have a guard , but the dude wasn't where he should have been, and if you got a big needle in your arm, you are almost defenseless right? read more

Dee is AMAZING! Staff is cool. Angelo should be the next Center Director. He runs the center flawlessly.

So your first time they put you through this gauntlet of questions tests and finally a physical. God forbid you answer honestly to the question "have you ever had sex with a male even once" they put you in a high risk category for the chance to transmit HIV or AIDS. I'm sorry is this 1980? So because of my sexuality I'm not allowed to donate plasma. THAT is discrimination at its finest folks. I just went 3 days ago for an HIV and STI test and brought proof that I was negative for all. What a f***** up policy. Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my day. #PROUD read more

Friendly Atmosphere and quick service. The center is always very clean and the staff is always very attentive

Easy process. Clean, friendly staff. First time donor about 3 hours total. Nice bonus deal going on.

eviews Sort by: Date All Locations All Categories Show First to Review Octapharma Plasma Octapharma Plasma Blood & Plasma Donation Centers 8420 N Armenia Ave Tampa, FL 33604 2.0 star rating 1/24/2019 The plasma donation center has great potential, great payout and bonuses compared to other plasma donation centers in the area yet managment need to make some serious changes to provide better service and speedier donations. I hate to give negative review but am willing to risk it if it helps turn things around. Here are the Pros vs Cons Pros: -New plasma donation machines -Great phlebotomist -Friendly staff -Central Tampa location -Competitive new donor payment 1st 5 donations -Competitive payout for return donors -Goose bonuses -Clean center Cons: -Vital stat I ns take a erase 10 minutes or longer -Total donation time WAY TOO LONG 3 to 4 hours average for return donors. -New donors can expect 4 to 7 hours -New donors often times turned away -Poor scheduling of employee breaks -Poor communication between front vitals stations and process in the back. -Staff taking vitas take too long -Staff taking vitals chat too long with clients -Staff taking vitals and staff working on new donors talk amongst each other while donors wait in line. -Consistently negative comments by clients who are unsatisfied with wait times. This center has gone down in customer service, lagging wait times, and overall atmosphere has gone in the tank. The center retains some great phlebotomist but wait time are killing the overall vibe and wrecking the return of its most valuable asset the return donor. I hate to see this center get closed but how can any business stay afloat when it is mismanaged and the clients time taken for granted? It just isn't worth the donors time to return for $20 dollar or even $65 on the biggest bonus day of the month if it is eaten up by 3 extra unnecessary hours of their time. I hope the center ge r s it's stuff together. Sorry for negative review but if no one tells it like they see it then the management might struggle to get things turned around in time. Until these issues are fixed be prepared to wait at least 3 hours as a return donor and my donation is usually takes 35mins. A Donor on and off since 2017 read more

This place is terribly slow right from the get go. Took almost an 1hr to get my vitals done and then another 1hr to get stuck cause my label never printed up. The people who work here are slow and not bright. After my fifth donation I'm done with this place and donation until biolife or something better. The plasma donation places around here suck. The manager told the work to stick me next and of course they don't listen and I'll be sitting here for another hr read more
