Went here for the first time last month. I was prepared for it to take several hours & yes it takes forever. I do not feel they are understaffed, but unmotivated to do their job or be efficient in any way. While the place looks clean, I was surprised at how the staff behaved. Lots of socializing & complaining about their jobs, meetings, donors, etc... it was very unprofessional what I witnessed. All the intake steps took way too long bc of all the interruptions & distractions. If the person I think was in charge was really in charge, he just complained & socialized the entire time I was in the intake room. One young woman who interviewed me had on all the protective face gear, bc germs I guess, but oddly long fake nails. How is that hygienic in a medical setting? The so called nurse who did her joke of an exam was cold & rude. Especially the 2nd time I stupidly went back. The first time there I got some male phlebotomist, was coughing & telling his co-workers he was getting over something. I was a little alarmed at that. He was the only one with a name tag, which I also thought was odd, & it said senior phlebotomist. Well you would think he could hit a vein with that title, but nope. Then he is jerking my arm around while calling for help from someone else who also couldn't get it right & caused lots of pain. They gave up & bandaged my arm & asked if they could try the other arm. I agreed. That one they got right & healed up fine in a day or so. But my left arm, it turns out, they did not even bandage properly bc my file clearly states latex allergy, someone who came to check on me said they put the wrong bandage on & had to change it. That arm bruised up & took over a week to heal. I went back the following week, days after they said I could return & when the intake woman looked at my left arm, where they couldn't hit a vein & still had a bruise, she jumped up & freaked out like I was a crackhead. Humiliated me in front of all the people standing there, escorted me back to rude nurses office where she said they had to open a file on me bc of the bruise & that I was not allowed to donate. Hello, they did this to me & it wasn't even the arm I ended up using to donate. So cold & unprofessional there. Their website & social media accounts act like you are such a hero for donating but the staff here treat you so poorly. Just read the comments here & on fb. It's sad. And now they halved the compensation, so it honestly is not worth the time, energy or pain to do it. read more

They have trainees sticking you with needles. When they leave a huge bruise on your arm , they say " it is a risk that you took" by donating. I do not recommend. It is dangerous. read more

Staff members move at the pace of a snail and there is never any urgency. Visited to try and donate plasma and left before signing up. The area made me a little uncomfortable, parking lot smelled like weed and trash, there was security walking around, and quite a few homeless people lounging. The last place I donated in Pensacola had very nice homeless people donate to make cash so I walked in anyway. The place was crazy packed with only 2 workers up front checking the vitals of those donating and they were very rude when I said I wanted to donate. Took a while for someone to come see me and get my name. After I watched the videos, I sat there for 30 min while that "doctor?" kept helping other people who Just walked in. After 45 min of waiting and not being acknowledged I left. The $150 a week is not worth that craziness. read more

I have been donating at the Brandon location for over 10 years. I never really had a bad experience with this location until now. I referred my friend there to donate. Her 1st visit went good no issues at all. However on her 2nd visit the lady named Pam told her she couldn't donate because she didn't speak English which is not true. she's bilingual and speaks English very well. My friend was emotionally distraught by this. And to add insult to injury she called the police on my friend because she simply wanted to know why she couldn't donate. I will NEVER refer anyone else to this place. It's sad that we have to endure this type of discrimination at this day and age. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful but they are understaffed. Because they are understaffed wait times to get a chair/station can be long. If you can avoid late afternoons as they are extremely busy. Takes almost 3 hours from beginning to finish. Extremely understaffed... and some vital screeners tend to wander and socialize after each vital screening. The Donation area is another Charlie Foxtrot... again WAY understaffed. This should take an hour and a half... but, here plan on a loss of 3 hours to complete a donation. This is a prime example of why running a lean work environment is a complete and total frustration for the donator... and adds extra pressure to the employees. I feel bad for the people who work here. Instead of adjusting their business hours to have sufficient people working, they rather try have them run everything with a minimal staff. Over 3 hours from entering the door to getting a bed. It's not the staff's fault. The higher ups need to take care of their people then donors can feel appreciated. The gentleman at the front advised him not to do the referral until his 2nd donation, now mind you even in the app it doesn't give you a time limit at all when you must have it done. So after his 2nd donation he did the referral I waited and called them they said he waited too long I received no points. They pay you less now, they've changed the dates which has messed quite a few people up donating, and if you want to get more money each time more money starting out I advise you to go to Biolife. read more

I've been coming here for about 2 years now and thought it was time to do a review. All things considered, this is a pretty great place to donate plasma. (And yes, I've tried the others.) I mainly go here because it's a lot closer to me and I don't have to drive all the way to Tampa just to donate. This location is convenient and it's right by the interstate. I wish Brandon and Riverview area had more plasma donation places that were closer, but sadly they don't. I've seen all kinds of people here and usually the other donors are friendly and polite, for the most part. The staff are all very nice usually, of course we all have our good and bad days, so I'm willing to allow for that. Most of them are total sweethearts and seem to have a lot of positive interactions with their donors. Normally they don't bruise me at all and the process goes smoothly and relatively painlessly. All of the staff seem to know what they are doing. The facility is also one of the cleanest I have ever seen, I've never found anything amiss when it comes to cleanliness here. They might have to defer you for various reasons if their tests indicate that you are not healthy enough to donate that day, but it helps to remember they are doing that for your best interest and trying to look out for you. I also think they pay pretty well for donations and I like their current payment setup a lot better than how the previous bonuses worked, because a lot of people seemed to get screwed out of their bonuses on their last donation before getting it (so I had to take off a star for that because it's happened to me once or twice too) and the normal payment amounts were less when those deals were going on. Now at least the payout is fair and it goes up each time you donate throughout the month. I like that much better. Anyway this is a great place to donate, keep up the great work! read more

Returning donors still wait about 2 to 3 hours before they are finished donating due to understaffing and horrible management.. people in line for hours .. They find ways not to pay you your bonus. One example, I had trouble entering the code, and they said to take care of it after. I donated, and saw only $20 instead of $100. They said it was too late because I had not entered the code. In addition, if your temperature is high because you are standing in line for a long time with a mask, they will not retake it and defer you. Thus, I was one day after my $100 promotion expired, and they only paid me $20, basically saying tough luck. THeir standard pay after initial promotion is over.....$20 first donation, then $90 next. They make over $1500 per donation, but only wanna pay $20. Not about helping, but about making money. Use their promotion then move on to another donation center that pays more. Last donation, spent over 3 hours there. They say pay you for your time, but that's a lie too. read more

Out of 8 visits to Adamo Drive location, I've had two not so good experiences. The first was the needle was not inserted correctly and the vein was missed. I was in a bit of pain as the lady moved the needle all around while needle was inserted. The next visit I made a month later, the same lady claimed the saline was never returned due to a "kinked line." I am done there. My hope's are that no one ever experiences this themselves! I used to go to CSL in Brandon when I wanted to make some extra money. Two years ago I went probably 50 times. When I first started going I was pretty impressed. The staff was very pleasant. The place was very clean. The waiting line was non-existent. Although, your first visit allow 2 to three hours. I'm sure now it's ridiculous amount of time. I liked how they had a rewards program. I would always trade my points in for a VIP card that allowed me to skip the waiting line when checking in. I also liked how they filled you with saline after your plasma extraction. (previous place took ur plasma and sent you packing) Now! Here we go. Towards the end of my 50 donations the staff attitude got worse. The clientel changed to very trashy. The lines got so ridiculously long I would have to use my line skip card. I used the VIP card three times and finally had enough!!! When I used the card there wasn't a special line. They just walked me to the front of the line where all the trashy people had been waiting for a long time. So everyone started bit*ching at me. Thanks CSL! Then I had to explain each occurrence that it's a rewards program thing. No one knew about the program, so I should have been put on CSL payroll for doing their job. The third time I skipped the long line the person up front almost picked a fight with me and the officer escorted them out. Then me out after my donation in case the person was waiting in the parking lot. Also, the final straw was on my last visit I used the restroom and there was a bloody wrap/guaze on the floor and t.p./paper towels. If you decide to go here be ready to wait and deal with rude staff and trashy clientel. I'll never be back. Last, the payout sucks! I learned that they're making $1000 to $1,800 for a full bottle of your plasma. You used to get $50 first 3 visits then it goes to 2x week 1=$35 2=$25 Like I said things could have changed but I've been by driving and the clientel still looks trashy. read more

I've been coming here with my roommate for months. I watch a five year old girl and we normally wait in the waiting room. Today I take the little girl to the bathroom like always but today some employee fallowed me in there and lectured me on having a kid. Then she tells me she can't be in the building if she's under 18 that I have to wait in my car. Okay I'd take this information better if there was a sign the states this, if someone would have said something the first time I brought her and if this lady wouldn't have verbally attacked me and my little one. The employees here are rude and the facility isn't always clean. If you want to go here I suggest first thing in the morning. The later in the day the more disgusting the facility. They are professional and quick. They pay less than BPL but save hours of your time because they are efficient.

I recommend this CSL Plasma because everyone from front desk, nurses, those taking your vitals, the officer and those in the back are all courteous. It is very clean never have I gone in there to find cotton balls or anything on the floors. They check on you from time to time to make sure you are okay! Yes I'm indeed a fan of this place. Hoping to start my new job next week I wanted to pick up a platter of cookies or something for them for the upcoming holidays. I've been coming to this donation center for just over four months. I have never had an issue with the staff, the donation process or the environment of the building until today. I went to the center this morning and was told that my protein level was too low to donate, which has never happened before. Typically my protein is so high that it falls close to the upper range of recommended levels. After speaking with a second employee, I was told that I would have to be deferred and not be able to donate for a week. I called back a few hours later and asked for a manager. She told me that there was nothing she could do and that the machines are calibrated and it was likely my diet that changed, which it hadn't since I started donating. After she told me she couldn't do anything for me, I brought up the fact that it was very ironic that I would not be able to donate for the next week, which is when my bonus payout would happen to fall ($90 bonus + usual amount). She didn't think it was related to my being deferred but I I find it hard to believe that my protein suddenly decreased so drastically in just two days. I'm thoroughly disappointed in this center and will not be back, I'll take my business to Biolife. read more
