Please visit your donation center where a staff member can assist you. I figured it was my protein level since that happens approximately every 5-6 months because of long term donation. I figured it was time to give a sample. I inquired at the screening station and was taken to a room and was advised my blood came back positive for HIV. I know that is not correct since I just had blood work done last month with my primary care physician and am HIV negative as of 5-8-26. I attached those results. Now I am deferred for life. I went right from there to get an HIV test at my pcp's office. I am not sexually active so I know I am not positive. If it does come back positive, it would be from the plasma center. I have witnessed several employees not change their gloves in between sticking donors. I even said something to Savannah, the former center director, about employees not changing their gloves. She told me it is not required but she prefers it. She said it is only required if the employee's gloves are visibily soiled. It is possible they don't see the blood on their gloves by not checking closely. My advice is to watch the employees closely and ask them to change their gloves if they don't after sticking other donors. I did ask one of the employees to change his gloves about 3 to 4 months ago. He told me he is not required to but will because I asked him to. I will provide an update on my review when I get the latest results back. If it is positive, then it is from the plasma center.

First time I have ever in Florida…read more I just want to say that everyone should donate blood, you're not only doing something to save a person's life but you get treated like a princess (or prince) when you are doing it. They give you soda and snacks, free t-shirt and whatever else they have free available at the time. I received a free ticket to the strawberry festival. The person who drew my blood was absolutely amazing older woman. We ended up talking about prostitutes in Portland, OR at one point. Great conversation by the way! After giving blood I started to feel light headed and getting a cold sweat, nearly blacked out. (It tends to happen with me because the blood takes FOREVER to get out of me and especially when I haven't donated in awhile, so it probably wont happen to you). Once they noticed it, they were right on top of it with a wet cloth on my forehead and neck. They brought down my chair so I was lying down and held the sprite for me to drink it and got me a rice crispies treat until it went away. This was the best place to give blood I have been to so far! ADORED it. Everyone go donate NOW!

I love the monthly updates via email and promotional incentives for donors. I have been at this for @ least 13yrs now and have met many great people and nurses. I usually bring my daughter and it's never a problem. Staff members are very friendly & treat her well when she is with me. You can make contact via web site for company bus blood drives. If you would like to set up a monthly blood drive for your support! I have many family members who suffer from cancer and I have found out I am a great universal match for plasma and platelets donations, so I usually get messages or emails to come in. On my member log-in page my card NEVER gave me the $20 I was PROMISED....the $20 card I was GIVEN BY ONE BLOOD STAFF....the $20 rewards that are ALL OVER THE OFFICE...their WEBPAGE...and my member portal!!! ******FRAUD******* After 6 days I called One Blood Orlando HQ----no reply from 2 agents I've dealt with in past. One (Salman Warsi), emailed that the policy was changed and monthly donors DO NOT GET REWARDS: "Starting 03/30, therapeutic donors who donate before the 56 day window are not eligible to receive rewards. The general and challenge rewards are tied to the standard whole blood eligibility of every 56 days. eGift Card rewards are only provided when donations occur within that eligibility window. If a donation happens before the 56 day window, even if it is doctor recommended, it does not quality for rewards." NOWHERE IN THEIR OFFICE.... in my portal....or on their WEBPAGE was this "CHANGE IN POLICY" posted!!!!! THIS IS FRAUDULENT....reude.....immortal...and very poor public relations!!! Very easy to use... and they had several open appointment times that made it very convenient. When I arrived, had a little bit of paperwork to do, and a tablet based questionaire for some easy questions. They took me back and I met my phlebotomist. Her name was Val... and she was awesome. Answered any questions I had, was very friendly and made me very comfortable. She did a excellent "stick"... got the vein on the first try... and took what she needed. She kept me entertained the whole! Really a great experience. If you would like to donate, this is a great location to do it at... although I have never had a bad experience on the Big Red Bus either. They all do a good job! Highly recommended!

Two times she tried buying Domin#es Pizza with her Kedpoints. The email code never went to her email. I seen it in person. I watched how she did it. Everything she did was correct. She tried contacting the center and no would help. That's not good. Secondly, their A/C system is messed up. So they brought in portable A/C units. And after having around 40 to 50 donors enter the building waiting around for hours, told them to leave. Some of us have to ride 6 to 8 hours of public buses to get there. Again, 95% of the staff are great (I know most of them pretty well, they are awesome!) but the few staff members that are indecisive was what caused the problems. Everyone makes mistakes but don't make donors pay out of their pockets with all their time, gas money, time off work, public transportation, missing appointments and other engagements they could have been doing. They make a lot of money from plasma. If they can correct these things then I will upgrade to a 5 star! Why? Other than a couple issues they would be a premium place to go and definitely recommend after they fix these issues.

The three staff members that took care of me on my new donor visit were outstanding. Miss Gwen did my intake assessment and she was precisely by the book. As a career oncology nurse, I know that processes and standards are there to ensure safety, and I was so relieved with her attention to her facility's standards. Miss Nakina did my physical assessment, and again I saw that commitment to precision and safety. My technician who did the actual procedure was Miss Letti, and she must have used a magic needle because I didn't feel a thing! I felt so safe there. The debit card is a safe way to receive payment, and I strongly suggest reading the paperwork/schedule of fees that comes with it so you don't spend money on fees you don't have to!
