Smith for taking the the to talk me through the process, being patient with me as my first bp was slightly over the qualifying pressure and supplying me with all the free goodies that I received for doing such a simple act of kindness. The Big Red Bus was not only cool, cozy, and clean but a great source of service to be able to get out to areas that many people can walk or take public transportation to, adding a free fandango ticket and free appetizer is a great added bonus. See you in a few weeks for another donation! Kudos to this service and saving lives!!

First time donating blood and it was a great experience! They were able to take me right away…read more After taking my info we had to check my iron levels then answered lots of questions. After that I was on a very comfy chair. Alyson took care of me from start to finish. She is a sweetheart. Asked if I wanted a blanket, something to drink and if I wanted snacks. Once she was all setup to take the blood it was time for the needle. My veins are always shy and like to hide and it's usually painfully. But she got it in one try and it didn't even hurt! Thank you!! Once the blood started pumping I was done in 7 minutes. Then she asked what color tape I wanted for the bandage. What? I've never seen it in different colors! Then she brings over a basket full of yummy snacks, they have popcorn, and other stuff but my eyes went straight for the chocolate cookies so.... cookies it was! They were out of tshirts and she took my size down and will call when the order comes in. Then I was on my way! I'll be back in 8 weeks!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Goodwill Donation Center close to my house. I typically have…read moretaken my donations to the Jax Beach location. I called ahead to ask if I needed to take my donations around back. I was advised there was parking in the front. When I arrived there were two designated donation parking spots. I took one of the spots as I had five large bags to donate. I got out of my car and snapped a picture for Yelp. By the time I check in and added my photo the front door to the donation center was propped open. A young man came out and assisted me with carry my bags inside. He then asked if I wanted a receipt and I advised yes please. He pushed a button on a machine on the wall and handed me a receipt with instructions for setting up a Goodwill account and completing an itemized receipt. Pretty smooth transaction. I'll drop off more donations at this location in the future.

Somebody answered and said "this is a donation center for donations." Ha! Parked in one of the two designated parking spots for donations. I thought that was convenient, not that people in Florida abide by such signs or rules. I grabbed a bag of donations and walked in to find an empty desk. I placed the bag down and peeked in the back. A lady was on the phone and held up a finger to me like "one moment." I went and got the rest of the donations and put them down on the floor. I donate without wanting a receipt so I left. That lady is probably still on the phone to this day.

I'm a 70-year-old veteran and she treated me as a perfunctory task she had to do rather than as a human being with feelings. I have given more than 2 pounds of blood over the past three years, but I won't be giving to One Blood again.

However it's a little on the small side with just one office it shares the same space as the United Way. I've done a few Flagler College Fair's for this particular Red Cross location and it also provides an awesome ability to be a great place to volunteer for Flager College students as well. So if you ever find yourself bored with nothing to do get out and VOLUNTEER for your local Red Cross! It's alot of fun.

Tis the season of showing love and O positive is a perfect gift. This is my first time as a whole blood donor and it was pleasant. It didn't physically hurt. There was slight discomfort but I believe most of the pain is Apprehension and Anxiety. Get rid of those A-holes, and it's all good. Staff professional and friendly. I forgot her name but she answered all my questions and then some. Gave me one of all the stickers she had for my girl, packed me an extra Coke, tucked a long sleeved tshirt into my bag and cheerfully said "I'll see you next month! You get a blanket in January." I'm a total sucker for a good blanket. Even better though, I'm a sucker for a good cause. Share your power, it won't cost you a single dime. What you give is invaluable and that philanthropic feeling you get from giving? Priceless.

And let's be real, this is a plasma center, there are a lot of trashy/homeless/people with addictions the staff have to deal with constantly, that get angry over $50, so perhaps that needs to be considered it isn't the best working environment. I think these people are angles for what they do and how well they do it considering. It just short of a miracle.

Today I went there believing I had an appointment only to learn that I made a mistake and scheduled at another location. I arrived here two hours before they open and yet there was staff there working. They graciously came to the door and helped me correct my error. I arrived at the other location in time to complete the donation process. These people are very professional and make this process very easy to do. I highly recommend it!!
