I have a friend, Armando, who loves to dance, sip and gulp and make new friends to notch. And I…read morelike some of those things too, especially dancing under lights that pulse hard. And according to many reels and mouths Kiss Kiss Bang Bang offers a hot-tiered LA-club experience. The kind of experience that folks from farmlands read about, and dream about attending. And here I am walking into a K-town bop bop experience, ready to do the monster mash, all the while knowing that these kinds of nights are not only magical because fairies and witches swirl in covens all around but because they are liberating at their (rotten) core. The night I went to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang they were having a Halloween party, and of course this fact amped the evening to a costume party that upheld the spirit of all Hallow's eve, in all its fantasy and glittery potential. The evening reached, my personal fever-pitch, when the dance floor was full and all around was a series of characters all connected by a simple yet powerful fact: we were all conjuring a good time, for ourselves, and others. I approached a guy dressed as Miguel from Coco. I wanted to duet with him, Ay mi amor, Ay mi amor, creo que piensas con los pies, but he did not know the words. I ran into a Frank Sinastra costume that did not know how to sing the songs of old blue eyes himself. It was a moment of character betrayal. There was a committed person who wore a blow up Remi from Ratouille costume. Seeing him jump up and down, mildly, in the dance floor produce a smile within me that I am sure was similar insde the chest of many of the party goers. I applaud his presence because he was one welcomed rat. As I looked at the brimming dance floor I was able to point to Armando and show him Waldo. Where was Waldo was not a question that plagued me on this evening. There was a lot fairies that night. I did not get to tell the girl who wore her fairy cosgtume the best, simply because it was elegant, and restrained but still I saw a woman-fairy hybrid that sparked within me a belief that Avalon had let its resident out for a night. A member of Slytherin, a French clown, Edward and Jake, staff of Jurrasaic park, and many others made the dance floor a scene from a costume ball, appropriate, for Ktown. That kind of feeling sticks because it was spooky fun that was sincere and effortless, the party came to the room and the room honored it, like a trick or treat pact. The room itself, with its central disco ball, felt like the 70s had reached the late 2020s. No one neeeded bell bottoms (although on this night they were allowed) beacuse the disco-fever feeling was an inspiration not the blood of the joint. One could not zone off in this room, the lights kept one's eye open wide. An AMF was 30 dollars. That was freightening too. The flavor of the place belongs to the young, in literal terms, or the young at heart. Cause everyone deserves to party, at whatever stage of life they are at. Especially on a night where the veil of the iiving and the dead lowers and the spirit makes us move together in step, like the zombies from Thriller. And yes, Michael Jackson was there too!

The downstairs lobby & restroom area was so fancy, with plenty of seating while you wait and rest. There's two separate bars, one as soon as you reach the upstairs and another inside the main room. There's also a separate room off to the side of the main event stage, where it's much cooler (temperature) with lots of seating and pretty lighting; you can still hear the music coming thru and the bass sounds really good in there too They have a photobooth upstairs!! Will say the building was much too small and crowded for the show we went to see, as they sold too many tickets, but that's not rlly the venue's fault so it didn't affect my review

La Cita has been welcoming the Latinx community since the 1960's. Over the years this lively Latin…read moredance club/bar has become a community gathering spot where regulars & staff become family and look out for one another. It's essentially two bars in one. The main area (dance club) caters to a primarily Latinx clientele and "El Patio" draws more of an eccentric crowd. Upon entering it takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dim lighting, which is enhanced by a long corridor of Christmas lights and a red glow that encompasses the bar. There's a large dance floor to the left where DJ's spin retro salsa & cumbia. Outside, the sounds transition towards indie, punk, old-school hip-hop, and jazz. I met some friends here for Happy Hour (aka Angry Hour) on a Friday. The back patio was packed with friendly folks who were eager to share a table and a story or two. I ordered a Paloma. Bartender Calixto was great. The live band VooDoo 5 was fantastic! I felt like I was in New Orleans. I really liked the vibe and the view of the stars at night. I had such a fun time. I look forward to coming back. *HH 4 pm - 9 pm *Metered parking or nearby lots.

I've heard of La Cita for years, and this is definitely one of those places that has been around for a while and has that classic Downtown LA bar feel. There was a little bit of a line when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long to get inside. Tonight there was a $15 cover charge. Once we got in, we went straight for some drinks and had a beer and a couple of cocktails. The bar was pretty busy, and it did take a little while for us to get our drinks, but we eventually got them. The DJ was playing a lot of good Spanish music, which really added to the atmosphere and made it a fun place to hang out and have drinks. One thing I thought was really cool was that they had a photo booth inside. I wasn't expecting that, and it was a fun little extra. They also have an outdoor bar area, which was nice because it gives you another place to hang out and take a break from the crowd. Overall, La Cita has that typical Downtown LA bar vibe busy, energetic, casual, and definitely geared toward having drinks, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. If you're already downtown and looking for a place to have some drinks and enjoy Spanish music, it's definitely worth checking out. We had a good time stopping in after dinner!l.

We were honestly falling asleep waiting for the actual entertainment to begin. The entire night felt chaotic from the moment we arrived. You spend time getting dressed up, planning a date night, driving downtown, and trying to be excited for the experience, only to park in a dark lot with feces and urine in the stairway. It was scary and disgusting. We looked past the parking lot situation because we were excited to enjoy our night out, but unfortunately the experience only got worse from there. The waitress kept pushing us to order more items, which made the whole night feel like a money grab. The food was absolutely embarrassing and nothing like what was advertised in the gallery photos on the website. It honestly felt like it came straight from Costco. Other reviews mentioned food being served on paper plates, and we can confirm that we experienced that too. The slice of pizza was literally Costco pizza. The pizza and snacks were cheap, low-quality, and nowhere near what you would expect for the price. It really makes you wonder how many people feel misled by that kind of advertising. There was also a complete lack of control and management. People who did not pay for reserved seating were hovering nearby, ready to take your seat the second you got up to use the restroom or go to the dance floor. We saw multiple people weasel their way into reserved lounge and table areas on the ground floor. At one point, a couple was even going through someone's fur coat and looked close to taking belongings before the actual couple returned. That alone says a lot about the environment and lack of security. The billing situation made it even worse. The waitress quickly skipped through the itemized receipt, which made it easy to miss that a 20% tip had already been included. We ended up tipping on top of the included gratuity and only realized it afterward. At that point, we felt completely scammed. We spent over $300, and the overall experience and management were absolutely not worth it. To be fair, some of the acts were great and the band was great. Separate from that, everything else was as mentioned. Between the deceptive billing, weak drinks that barely seemed to have alcohol, the delayed start, boring dance lessons, embarrassing food, poor seating control, and lack of management, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I definitely do not recommend reserving seats, drinking at this event, or buying their food. Eat dinner beforehand and do not worry about arriving on time, because the show does not really start until around 10:30 anyway. We left feeling scammed.

Stay clear of security and bottle service girls, or anyone actually, ppl will push tf out of you... i just stop dancing when whoever starts walking towards me and stare at them . The crowd is pretty consistent.. the girl to boy ratio is decent. A lot of people b walking around and its so annoying. Theres a time and place bro.
