I want to preface this by saying I've been wanting to come here for literally almost 3 years. I found Jazz Eclectic on instagram and was dreaming of going for a long time. Beginning: we were greeted by security who checked us in right away. There was no long line and we got in with a breezes there was security at the elevator and he was nice enough to take our pictures. Middle: My group decided we wanted a table and the host was nice enough to get us a table even though it was last minute. She worked with us to make sure it was a win-win for the group and the establishment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]SO. MUCH. FUN. great live jazz music. Everyone there had great energy. And finally - the best musicians in LA...literally. Robert Turner on piano- WOW. T Dizzle on Drums and then an amazing Bassist...but they always get more instruments on the 2nd and 3rd set - Electric guitar, Saxophonist, Trumpet Player, Trombonist....and a list of amazing singers bringing down the house. I've been to Jazz Eclectic for quite a few times now. While I enjoy the music, drinks, the environment I have to say over the years I have noticed one thing: The organizers are not very welcoming to outsiders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music is a very positive experience and I feel like it should be shared with all equally.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most of the time when you get to the door you have to follow them on social media. Well, I don't understand why people have to share their social media and be forced to follow Jazz Eclectic since there's not much effort to make the non clique crowd feel welcome. I think this is wrong!!! Nobody should be forced to follow anyone on social media. And no business or organization should care about numbers, but about a positive experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, please make sure new guests have the chance to get a table. A good one! It was my first and for sure the last time going there! Besides that drinks are unrealistically expensive, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the music was horrible![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been in many jazz clubs many many times and never had such a bad experience! Also the costumer service was horrible! I felt light headed and sat on the couch for a few minutes and the host came and asked me to stand up bcuz we didn't pay for seats! I tried to explain that I'm not going to seat long but he wouldn't leave until I got up! I felt so embarrassed and shocked at the same time! On a random Tuesday night in Hollywood, I decided to go to JazzEclecticLA at Bar Lis with some friends. First thing that caught my attention were the beautiful pictures on the wall which captured the golden days of the French Riviera. As soon as we got to the rooftop, I couldn't believe there were so many people from all ages and backgrounds having fun listening to some of the best live music I've heard in a very long time. The musicians and singers were top notch and the overall atmosphere was amazing. My friends and I ordered food and drinks which were delicious. We really had a wonderful time. Yet another Los Angeles rooftop party. Not jazz, but top 40s covers. Not a reserved table by the band, but a seat at a coffee table behind the row of standing crowds. Not a break between band sets, but a DJ blasting music way louder than they should, when not a single person is dancing and everyone is just trying to chat and order food. Speaking of which, the kitchen is closed by 10 pm, so the $150 minimum at your table for two has to be alcohol and not food. How many $15 drinks can your date get in them? Awful. Los Angeles is a trash dump and this place is yet another overpriced dumpster. read more

Absolutely loved last night @jazzeclecticla at BarLis, the new Thompson Hotel rooftop, in Hollywood! What a magical night and the best jam ever with Ryan Ross and his band, hosted and created by Gilles. I registered on their website for a free walk-in and enjoyed the live music standing all night until 1am. Next time, I will come with more friends and book a table!
