It's a serene, intimate, well lit spot that makes everyone feel comfortable. The tech always sounds amazing at the Glendale Room. I love performing here because there are always two working microphones. I also love how relaxed and chill everyone that works here is. I think one of my favorite things about watching comedy here is the couch in the back right corner. It's so comfortable I like to sit here to watch and perform. Glendale Room has a ton of open mics for anyone that wants to try stand up for the first couple of times. There are also snacks and drinks available for purchase on the honor system. How trusting! But really, the Glendale Room is a fabulous spot for some weekday or weekend entertainment. Parking is very convenient in the parking garage and every time I've parked- it's been easy. I absolutely love the Glendale Room and can't wait to go again!

We just saw Six Actors in Search of an Author, and while this was a very complex play, the actors were fabulous! All the actors certainly put in time to give a great show. The theater itself has a very bare-bones, pure theater feel which I never imagined existed out in tinsel town. I have never been happier to be wrong. Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a performance of Hamlet. The cast was completely solid, lead by Christopher Karbo taking on perhaps the most difficult character in literature and making it look easy. He commands the stage with such a strong presence; during his performance of each soliloquy it felt like an intimate friend taking each individual audience member aside and really having a heart-to-heart with them. It felt so raw, and true. Eric Castro and Mary Carrig give excellent supporting performances. Each line was delivered with such passion. It was absolutely a fantastic show, and a great way to return to watching theater performances on a personal note.

As for the venue, the Sunday performances require masks and when a customer in front of me inquired about it the staff member indicated that they offer Sundays for those customers who want to wear masks. Doesn't make sense to me because if a customer wants to wear a mask during any performance in this venue they should be able to. Upon that said, there were a few customers not wearing any masks (again, makes no sense). The other con is they offer refreshments for sale at reasonable prices; however, you cannot take them into the theatre. I have only been to one other theatre that did not allow food nor drinks so you have to arrive early if you want refreshments or you can purchase during the intermission but have to hurry to finish up. Although staff was friendly and informative, the venue was cramped although plenty of seating is available. I doubt I will patronize this theatre again unless it was a "to die for" performance showing.

We were greeted by Kent, a very friendly gentleman who met us at the door and answered all our questions. The staff served snacks before the show. This was our first visit to the Victory Theatre Center. The Theater seats were very comfortable, a great sound system, and Elena is a very talented singer. We will definitely return to this very friendly theater and we hope to see Kent again.

My son has only been here a week and yet I have to post a review…read more This environment was so immediately supportive and welcoming, and you can tell from the moment you arrive that all the dancers are so thrilled to be here. I took dance for 15 years (many years ago and at another studio) and I was sort of reticent about allowing my son to take dance, even though it's his passion, because I had a very hit or miss experience with dance teachers, many of whom were exceptionally critical. Excelaration is nothing like my own experience, and nothing like you may have seen on certain "reality shows." The teachers here are warm, kind and passionate. The students seem almost hand-picked to be supportive of each other rather than competitive with one another. The facilities are amazing, and the leadership goes out of their way to make the studios inviting (balloon arch and sparkle wall to greet the dancers back after summer? amazing!) But lest you think this studio is all sparkle and no substance, don't be fooled. In just the first week of classes my son has learned two different combos, as well as key components of stretching and technique. Already he's learned more than in an entire year of another dance program. If you're looking for a supportive place where your kid will be accepted for who they are, and will also be challenged to be the best dancer they can be, this is the place for you!

Exit Wounds, World Premiere... written by Wendy Graf and directed by Christopher Hart playing from now until December 15th 2019. Exit Wounds is a mystery play. Here's an excerpt from the promotional poster, "How do you find redemption when someone you love has committed a terrible crime? A story of healing, hope and compassion". The other play is Confederates, Los Angeles Premier... written by Suzanne Bradbeer and directed by Christopher Hart playing from now until December 16th 2019. Confederates appears to be a drama. Here's an excerpt from the promotional poster, "A young and ambitious reporter uncovers a compromising photo of the daughter of a presidential candidate. An older colleague urges him to publish it immediately while the daughter and his conscience tells him to bury it". Tickets for these shows can be purchased online at www.gtc.org Maybe, I'll give GTC five stars if I ever watch a stageplay there, but that's not today. Visited 12/9/2016…read more Purchased Fill a Seat LA during the summer and FINALLY used it for the first time last night. VERY difficult to find this place!! I used my WAZE and it took us to the Recreation Center! We decided to drive around the block, but my WAZE still took us here! I decided to park and we walked towards the recreation center and what do we see?!?! A small sign with an arrow pointing towards the back of the Recreation Center. We followed the path and found another sign and there it was.... The Grove Theater!! Looked REALLY small from the outside. When we entered the theater, you right away are in the lobby/intermission area. They sold cookies and drinks only. Small seating area, but nicely done and looks cozy. The theater looks new. The seats were comfortable. The theater states it holds 99 seats which I found hard to believe. By the time the play started (we saw A Christmas Carol), the theater was about 1/4 full. The play itself was well done with only three actors. It's amazing what they did with their "costume changes" utilizing their red or green scarf. The male actor changed his character just by messing up his hair and changing his voice and mannerisms! The play was well done and I would highly recommend it. No intermission. Only 90 minutes. Never a dull moment. Plenty of free street parking. They have their own parking lot, but I don't have a clue as to how to get to it!! We would definitely return.

Limited and time-limited (2 hours max) metered street parking and plenty of paid parking lots. The theater does not have their own self-parking or valet. If you use certain city-owned parking lots you can validate at the theater and only pay $1 for 4 hours (as of the time of my last visit). Check their website for more info. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants around and some awesome Armenian food! Venue 4: Historic, nostalgic Art Deco venue originally built in 1925 and renovated a couple of times. Currently owned by the City of Glendale. Smaller venue with a capacity of fourteen hundred people. Main Floor, Terrace and Balcony seating. It's a small place so virtually every seat is a good seat. Seats are comfortable and legroom is acceptable. They do live performances and also movie screenings. Service 4: Staff were friendly and polite during my limited interaction of getting my ticket scanned at the entrance and being ushered to my seat. It's a nicely renovated theater from the height of movie palace development, with lovely Art Deco touches on the walls and ceiling. The seats aren't quite as comfortable as you'd have in newer theaters, but they ARE roomier than the oldest of the Broadway houses in NYC, so I'll consider this a win. I was here to see the annual Oscar Preview event presented by LAist with Larry Mantle and the full roster of film critics that rotate onto his Friday Film Week show. The presentation was well organized and run very smoothly for a one-off, sound was very good, visuals nicely presented, and I get the sense that the team at The Alex knows how to make these events happen seamlessly for their clients. I can imagine it's a nice place to see a film, though I know they also have live performances (orchestras, dance, theater), and I'll make a point fo coming back before too long, as this is a lovely environment with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
