Amazing concierge who are always there for you when you need it and are always so approachable. The apartment building also hosts cocktail hours with food. The 20th floor has an amazing view. The amenities are always so clean and for any repairs they are always responded to quickly. They also have soap in the dog wash station, and dog treats at the dog wash station and the front desk. They offer towel service for the pool and gym. Free coffee in the lounge (tastes amazing) This building is well worth it and has truly met our needs for safety in the area and exceeded our expectations! The lack of transparency is astonishing. - My visitor's car was totaled due to flooding in the side visitor lot. Multiple cars were waterlogged and severely damaged and totaled. The management did not notify residents of the flash flood warning beforehand despite flooding in the University Circle area in the past. Management also did not notify residents that their visitors' cars may be flooded. There is a large visitor lot on the East side that would not flood, but is always empty because OUC charges $25/day to park there. This is a Cleveland suburb, not New York City. - My visitor tried to open the balcony door on the 20th floor lounge, the handle snapped, and we left the handle on the lounge table. The management later charged me $500 for a total replacement of the door. The accusation was "excessive force", which I tried to dispute because we were obviously not maliciously vandalizing, but rather the handle was assembled poorly. I had to pay for their faulty construction when OUC should have. Faulty construction in units too: when I moved in my window screen fell off when I tried to open the window. Thank goodness they didn't charge me $500 for that one too. - Walls not sound-proof, can hear conversations from adjacent unit read more

Living experience was not as we expected. We've been living here for three months, yet there have been many problems. Two of the drawers weren't installed properly; air conditioner is extremely loud, and the control panel is very out-dated; microwave's light went out already, which according to the manager that it's been a year and half since it was installed. For real? We lived in another apartment for three years and the microwave had no problem at all. Not to mention that the trash chute. We've never seen the trash chute been filled up to the third floor. And the manager here thought it's normal since no one works over the weekend. What a luxury place. And just like the other reviewers mentioned, there's no securities out side of the building. Innova has securities outside the building patrolling all the night. We want to transfer to a higher unit, so that we won't see a clogged trash chute. Other residents have successfully transferred within two weeks, but according to a policy just came up, we can't transfer until we have lived 6 months. It's like a policy specially made for us. How flattered. We asked to see the "so called" policy, she couldn't even show us. The thing is that the management team really treated people so differently that make us feel so uncomfortable. It's our rights to be. Treated equally. One more thing to mention. Maintenance guys are really good themselves. However it seems like they didn't get the order in a timely manner? There was no hot water at all on the first night we moved in. I went to the concierge, and I was told to wait for about 45 minutes. It was around 2:00 in the morning, and we waited until 3:30 am but no one showed up. We were too tired to wait, after the whole day of moving stuff. YET the maintenance guy came to knock on our door at 6:00 am. We were exhausted, but we have to get up. What about EMERGENCY SERVICE you guys promised? I could wait until the next day for the hot water to be fixed, just don't tell me it could be fixed within 45 minutes. Everything that's not as promised is not a big deal to the management team. There was another time the concierge emailed us that the maintenance guy would be here to fix things at 9:30, we replied to the concierge immediately but we waited one hour and nobody showed up. We went to the manager and been told the concierge we replied is not at work today and the maintenance guy "JUST" got our email. If an employee is not at work, why would she send us email? The manager argued with us that because we didn't hit reply all. Come on, how would a tenant know who's working who's not when getting an email from that staff? The point is they don't want to make improvements of their poor management, instead they want tenants to make adjustments or get used to it. They think as long as the problem was fixed(no matter how it was fixed and how long it took), there won't be any problem and therefore we won't be and shouldn't be bothered at all. Just don't pay such money to get an apartment that you have to keep requesting maintenance. This place is totally OVERPRICED for such poor management. The management team here is more like a debate team.Your company emphasizes that customers' satisfaction is really important, however, I don't see it at OUC. read more

One University Circle - Apartments Near Me - Cleveland, Ohio

I moved in a month ago and I currently live here and while there are many pros to living here, there are also some significant cons. The building is absolutely beautiful. The lobby, conference rooms, pool deck, exercise facilities, and the sky lounge are all very clean and spacious. The location is also excellent. However, my main issues are with the security and the property management. At first, I was really impressed by the security, but after a few weeks of living here, I am a little more concerned. The concierge or security guard is supposed to be at the desk 24/7 but most of the time, I find that is not the case and the person in the front is usually not at the desk. Plus, they only answer the phone half of the time and when they don't, the voicemail box is full and you can't leave a message. My bike seat was stolen last week because my bike was parked in the racks located in back of the building. I kept my cool about my bike seat being stolen as it was an easy fix, but one of the concierges made a snide remark about how another girl got her bike stolen from the front of the building and how *she* didn't make a big deal out of it. It definitely felt like a subtle insult to me about how I reported my seat stolen. It made me insecure to report other complaints I have about the place. The reason I parked my bike outside was that the bike room lights aren't working. When I moved in 3+ weeks ago, the lights would turn on after a few seconds of standing in the room. Now they don't turn on at all. Plus, all of the wheelchair access buttons that are supposed to automatically open the doors are out of order. I've brought up these concerns to the staff a few times and every time I get a vague response about how it will take a few weeks. So now I'm hesitant to park my bike outside because of my theft experience, but I also have a hard time parking my bike in the bike room. As for other repairs, the maintenance employees themselves are very nice, but my luck with getting repairs done is iffy. When I first moved in, we didn't have hot water, a part of the sink was missing, the shower door didn't close, the shower lights turn off while you're showing, and the air filter was very dirty. They fixed the hot water issue the night I moved in but the sink and the shower door took almost two weeks. The air filter was fixed a few hours after I reported it. The shower light still doesn't work and turns off sporadically. I have mixed feelings about the office staff, mainly about their attitudes and disorganization. The concierge people are very nice but like I said, are often away from the desk and do not answer their phones. In addition to the snide remark the one concierge employee made, I have had multiple experiences where I have received attitude from the staff. Often times, instead of offering to help, they seem to be more interested in arguing with you. In terms of disorganization, they recently lost track of my rent check and tried to make me pay a late fee even though I turned in the check on my move-in date. Luckily, I kept record of them cashing the check and the issue was resolved. I'm still willing to give the place a chance because I really do like the building and my apartment. But I think the only reason why things haven't gone completely south is that everything is new and hasn't had time to break down. Initially, I was really looking forward to re-newing my lease for next year because of the location and the building. But, there are other brand new complexes in the area with cheaper prices, I am definitely going to shop options first. For the price I am paying, the building lives up to my expectations, but the management and the security definitely do not. read more

We just moved here from Tampa,Florida and I don't think we could have picked a better place to live. From the minute we met Mark in the leasing office we knew this would be home. Our views from our apartment are amazing, on a clear day we can see the lake from the 10th floor. The amenities sold us on OUC! The concierge staff is amazing, thank you Sonya, Tamara, Kenzie and Sharon for all you do. The maintenance staff is quick to answer service calls as well, thank you Brian, Brian, Cortez and Brittany. If you have a pet the covered dog run is perfect for that showy day. Also the heated garage is a life saver on those cold days. Overall the apartment complex is luxurious and has many great amenities including a swimming pool, 24 hour gym, and conference rooms that are all really great. The whole place including my apartment unit is brand new and really great quality. There is a secure package room and remote entry climate controlled parking garage that are all really great. The maintenance staff is wonderful and so friendly and have taken care of the various issues I had very quickly and I appreciate them so much. The concierge service is great and they have all taken care of all of my needs respectfully. The staff here is so friendly and wonderful that make living here such a great experience. Coming from Southern California and having to adapt to a new place here in Cleveland as I attend school as a full-time student was a daunting experience but this place and especially the staff have all really helped my transition go smoothly. My only concern that I have is that I don't think any of the apartments came with curtains installed for the big windows overlooking the swimming pool deck area and the lack of privacy is a slight concern but I have been assured that they should be ready by November and will be installed. I hope there are no delays but I trust the staff will take care of this as quickly as they can. The staff has also held bbq and wine/cheese events which is a great thing they do and are good about planning similar things like this every so often. I am excited for my upcoming year living here and am glad to have picked this place. read more

My wife, young son and I are coming up on our 6-month anniversary as residents at One University Circle. Frankly we are confused by some of the comments below regarding the customer service here. The entire staff has really made us feel like family and have been especially welcoming to our toddler. We were nervous about how the transition from the suburbs would be but we couldn't be happier here. Living here allows us to walk to work, countless museums, shops and restaurants. But what makes it truly special are the people who have been so wonderful. I highly recommend visiting this building if you are considering moving closer to work. read more

This apartment gave me a weird vibe...the minute you walk in there are 2 women sitting at the front desk like receptionists. They were very nice, but it didn't feel like I was walking into a place I would call home. The leasing agent kept us waiting and was rather arrogant thoughout he tour....it was a real turn off to considering it. Ultimately I came to see if I would like the view. The high floors did have a nice view of the art museum and the wade lagoon. The lower floors...9ish and below really just look at the road in front of the building...active but nothing special. As a testament of how much we enjoy living here, my wife and I just renewed our lease and moved into a bigger unit! Let's face it, not every apartment is perfect, but this one comes close. First off, it's a brand new, high end apartment with all the excellent amenities one would expect. Additionally, they take great effort to build a community with weekly social events, including happy hours, fitness classes, and cooking demos. The building feels safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained. The building is also constructed in a manner that significantly reduces utility costs and virtually eliminates noise from my neighbors. I feel the management can sometimes benefit from better communication/organization, however they are generally helpful, responsive, and well-intentioned. I've also noticed they are constantly trying to improve the tenant experience which is much appreciated. Also, the location is superb, especially if you work at University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, or Case Western. It's also next to Cleveland's beautiful cultural hub with multiple museums and parks. The warmer months explodes with frequent outdoor festivals and musical performances. The bottom line is when you run a high-end apartment, you're going to have tenants with higher expectations and lower thresholds for complaints (myself included). I think this makes up the majority of negative reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. But at the end of the day, this apartment is beautiful, luxurious, safe, clean, perfectly located, and really tries to make the tenant experience better as it matures. read more

It pains me to have to give One University Circle one star because in the beginning this was a five-star luxury building. I moved here from Philadelphia PA and I considered everyone here family but over the past three months of living here something has truly changed with their operation changing, property management changing, and their sales team is like a revolving door. Overall village green is becoming a revolving door when you put someone in to work for 30 days how are residents suppose to feel comfortable and get used to someone and then you are constantly changing. This method does not work and residents do not like it bc we begin to lose trust and question management if they know what they are doing. Now goes on to the terrible final three months I have had at this establishment. When I arrived back from being home I found out with a letter on my door not even in my mailbox that my rent was being raised. This is against confidentiality rights. I was out of town for 2 weeks who knows how long it was on my door for, and who could have seen it what if it was an eviction notice. They need to know this METHOD is NOT OK WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN AN EMAIL OR IN MY MAILBOX!!! Also I had another issue where they decided to do work in the apartment directly above by ripping up brand new hardwood floors that were destroyed by dogs that were over 150 pounds. It was rude bc they did not contact surrounding neighbors and it was so inconvenient, I mean if they can post that they are raising rent on your door why could t they do that about the work in 714 or email or use the app. When I talked to Jen Billeter the area director she had no explanation and was unable to provide and deliver a solution. Overall with all of the staffing changes this looks like a property management company that doesn't know how to manage. read more

This place is what Cleveland needed. My fiance and I own a house but wanted to tour to see what all the fuss is about, and we get it now. It's like high rises you see in other cities. It's new, fresh, has all of the upgrades you would expect when paying higher rent. They have multiple fitness centers, multiple business centers and multiple things for our pets. They even have a pet spa and a pool on the roof. We loved the views from the 5th floor and then when we saw the views higher up.. there's just nowhere else that shows Cleveland like this place. The person who toured us knew his stuff and gave us places to try eating at that we never realized were around here. Living downtown would be a little too busy and inconvenient for us at this stage in our life, but in this area it's pretty, less congested and close to everything going on downtown. And top grocery stores deliver here too. We are seriously considering renting out our home and living with the amenities and less maintenance. This place would be at the top of our list. Renters beware. Management is horrible. Very hard to get in contact with when you have a concern, however, they expect you to be available 24/7 to answer any of their small issues. To begin with, on more than one occasion when I went to pay my monthly rent, I noticed that the amount charged on the online portal was higher than it should be, so I had to contact the management to have it lowered to the correct amount. (I was able to cross-check with my rent + the utilities bill mailed). Furthermore, upon moving out, they have not sent me any information regarding my security deposit return or damages that would have caused my deposit to be withheld. I have emailed and called multiple management employees for weeks, yet have not received a reply from anyone. Under Ohio law and in the lease contract it states that the security deposit should be returned WITHIN 30-days of move out, however it has been 60+ days and still no contact. Finally, I emailed a concierge team member, as I'm still receiving property event emails as if I still live there, and she stated she would get in contact with the property manager about the "process/update for my security deposit" however that was a week ago and no reply since. There are much nicer places to live in Cleveland for far less trouble and money spent. Also, it seems like shoddy construction that was done very rapidly, not worth the price. Many kitchen drawers/cabinets are off-centered and crooked. For the first couple months of my tenancy, the bathroom light would turn on and off at-random on its own, so I could be taking a shower and the lights would shut off or sleeping only to be woken by the lights being turned on. Not only was this annoying, but I'm sure this caused by utilities to increase from the lights being on at random times. Also, the air conditioning unit is extremely loud. I wouldn't recommend living at One University Circle. read more
