I lived there for a full year, if you're really considering staying there PLEASE READ THE WHOLE…read moreTHING BEFORE APPLYING PROS: The community is good. The neighbors tend to mind their own business & are pretty nice people. The office staff are friendly and helpful when you need something. They host little events and such for the tenants every now & then. Since I moved in back in February of last year, they've added a playground, an amazon package hub, put in new doors and toilets for the units and a new leasing office. The appliances in the unit are all up to date which comes in handy to keep you from having to get your own CONS: 1). The apartments are RIDICULOUSLY OVER PRICED. A one bedroom unit costs $900 + $5 for trash removal, NOT INCLUDING electric, internet or water. You're charged a convenience fee for paying online, so example; Rent +Trash = $905, w/ a potential $40 water bill (if you live alone) + $23 convenience fee (they also charge if it's over the phone) you'll ultimately be paying over $960-$970 for a 1 bedroom (and not a very big one). That fee goes up depending how much your bill is too so the higher the bill the higher the fee. Your best bet is to pay it at a money center at Walmart, they charge you $3 but that's way better than $23. 2). All of the closet doors in my unit were off track or wouldn't close at all (I didn't really mind). I found a dead mouse under my heat vent 3 months after I moved in (it looked like it'd been there a while so I wasn't really bothered), there were little black ants coming out of the bathroom corner which eventually stopped, then it was little silver fish (probably because of the constant flooding on the ground level). I had to contact maintenance 3 separate times because the unit above me was leaking water into my bathroom ceiling causing black mold above my shower. The first time they came they just covered the spot with a wooden plank, second time they covered it with spackle, then it took months for them to actually come back & paint over the spackle (they also left mess of it over my shower faucet & my bathroom sink when they finished). When I make a maintenance request I asked to be called first to schedule a time so that I could be there and have my ESA put away, but for my last request someone had come into my unit without my knowing & nobody called to set up a day. I only found out with an email the next day saying the request was completed. It was my understanding that they don't go into your unit without notifying you unless it's an emergency & it certainly wasn't so I guess maintenance can come in your place at anytime 3). Showering was a chore, not sure if any other unit had this problem but my shower had messed up controls. You could only control how hot your water is by using the cold water knob & you had to do it CAREFULLY. You turn too far to the left it gets too cold, you turn too far to the right its super hot, & it didn't matter how much you turned the hot water knob because that did absolutely nothing. Also the water pressure is non existent, if you started your shower standing in the middle of the tub, after 60 seconds you'll be standing directly under the shower head trying to get water. I thought that's just something that happens in apartments but the apartment where I live now doesn't have that issue. 4). Elevators are dysfunctional. One of them always stops at the lobby floor whether you press the button or not, the other sometimes won't close it's doors, doesn't move at all or occasionally will take you to your floor, stop & take you back down to the lobby without ever opening. The washing machines also break down a lot. I had to rescue my sheets from a washer that had burst open and sprayed scolding hot water onto the floor flooding the hallway (& it was labeled 'safe to use'). Some of the dryers won't dry your clothes completely either but hey, at least they have new vending machines. 5). There was no way for me to control the heat in my unit so I had to leave my balcony door open to cool it down in the winter a lot (&I wasn't the only tenant with that issue). But if your unit faces the front of the building you'll have to deal with loud neighbors on the bottom floor as well as 15 wheeler amazon trucks driving around from 1am-6am in the morning so enjoy that. 6). Lots of people in the building have dogs that aren't dog friendly or properly trained. There's also a lot of people who don't pick up after their dogs either (outside or inside the building) even though they provide free poop bags at the back door. 7). When I finally got out and got my security deposit back, they kept $195.72 of my $450 security deposit even though I didn't break anything in my unit. They charge you for cleaning the apartment regardless of the condition its in, had I known that I wouldn't have bothered to try and clean a little before leaving. I've attached pics of some of the problems mentioned before

We signed the lease before seeing the property and found ourselves shocked as we first stepped in the building. Entrance ways and hallways smell of weed, cigarettes, and piss. Trash cans were overflowing and junk mail is thrown all over the floor. The elevators are tiny and are painfully slow. You can hear everything from the apartments down the hall, and I found myself questioning a couple times a day whether I needed to go knock on a door and break up a domestic violence dispute. Now...the location is nice, parking is pretty good, and the apartments themselves are recently renovated with an up to date feel. The staff took care of us, and had us ready to move in well ahead of time, but this just didn't turn out to be the place for us. Like I said, expectations... approach with caution if you have kids.

She always gave you her business card and information regarding the home. I have also dealt with other leasing agents from other property management companies, I have had them cancel at the last minute, and arrive late. After being fed up with the other leasing agents, I decided just to stick with Monica, by giving her information on what I was looking for, finally in August of 2020 Monica found two house's she though I would like and she told me once I saw the one I live in now that I would not really like the second she wanted to show, and she was right. The one I live in now is it the right price and in the right area. Thank You Moncia. Tanya A.

Management not at all responsive to resident's needs unless you are one of their favorites. Very few activities, with little participation. Observed crimes on several occasions in poorly lit back parking lot. Management refused to install additional security lights, citing cost as the reason. Moved out in May 2025 and as of August 2025 still waiting for return of security deposit, although we were promised it would be "expedited and sent by overnight delivery". Although the apartments are nice, there is no benefit to living here.

My mother just moved into Glenwood Square apartments and is happier than I have seen her in years!…read more First, I have to thank Jen and Frank who run the place. They have been very helpful and have gone further than expected. Frank came in on a Sunday to fix the door handle as it was having some difficulties for my mom to turn the key (tight, new lock). Jen went over to Drug Mart and purchased a splitter for the cable, put it on herself and got my mom's bedroom and living room TVs, phone and internet working. Both have gone out of their way to help their tenants. Second, the place is so lovely and quiet. The view from my mom's apartment is so beautiful and everywhere is very quiet. Everything is so new and clean. And it is great that there is a washer and drying right in the unit. No public clothes washing. Also, the gas and water are paid for by the apartment, which reduces my mom's bills significantly. Last, the other tenants are very friendly and nice. My mom is enjoying being able to sit and drink coffee and chat with everyone every day. She never had that being so alone in her big house. She is so looking forward to all of the social activities that are planned, like Bingo, new tenant welcomes and especially going to the Note-Oriety Showchoir shows. I would HIGHLY recommend this Senior Community.

We were told we would not be able to see the apt before paying the deposit which I know is standard for most places. When we arrived to move in, the apt reeked of cigarette smoke. My eyes were burning and the smell was awful. The apt door didn't even have a nonsmoking sign on it. I informed the manager and she repeatedly denied anyone smoking in that room. The next day I saw a nonsmoking sign placed on my door. To add on to that, I found pieces of dog food on the carpet which was another reason for my allergies. The manager even said she personally knew the previous tenant and was sure he did not smoke or have pets. The cabinets had a layer of dust on them. I should've been paid for the amount hours I spent cleaning the apt. We notified corporate and a lady came to inspect the room. I gave her the evidence of the pet food I found on the floor, nails, and empty prescription box found in the bathroom along with pictures of the amount of dust on the cabinets. The lady denied any smell. This could be because the management had done a carpet cleaning and put in scented air filters prior to her checking the room. However, I felt as if they were blaming me for making everything up. Needless to say corporate didn't do anything either besides possibly reprimanding the staff. I doubt that even happened as they have not changed one bit. After two months we were finally able to move to a different apt after inspecting it myself for issues of course. I would've gladly driven the 1hr+ to work from the Spruce Run location as opposed to 25min drive if had known I would have to go through all this. It should not be this hard to resolve these issues. The maintenance staff have been rude at times and take their sweet time to come fix even an emergent issue. In addition, I had to ask them to change my AC filter. As of yet, they have not come to change the filters or do room checks which is done routinely at the Spruce Run location. If they had done routine room checks, they would have picked up on the marijuana that was being used by someone in my floor months ago. I had to tell the maintenance man who was present in my building one day claiming he was doing room checks of this matter. It's been a miserable experience working with these people and I can't wait to leave. I suggest to save yourself from this headache and stay somewhere else.
