The lovely K and I were lucky enough to be invited to this activity based establishment as part of a corporate event. First off, we had a great time, enjoyed pretty darn good food and excellent service. That said the place was not full, gee darn, so there were a good number of servers to take care of us, gee darn again. I loved the old world Vancouver experience of walking down the stairs to the entrance and going in. It's underground, but you don't feel that. The ceilings are varied so there isn't a claustrophobic feel at all. The golf experience is pretty accurate with a good number of rooms available and a full set of both sides of the ball clubs (nice touch for a lefty). The food offering was varied, thank you to our hosts, but also to the kitchen for pulling it off. Our first experience at One Under, but we truly hope to get back there. The simulator was a lot of fun, we came as a group of 7. The menu is very limited, and oddly all food you eat with your hands so to be playing golf and eating isn't realistic for sanitary reasons. For the most part we had to order our drinks ourselves because even though there were servers they were mostly just chatting with each other and not really serving tables. When we got the bills.. we had to have them redo the bills no joke half a dozen times. Everything from 1 person having no bill at all to items for the group not being divided(even though when ordered it was explicitly mentioned these apps will just be divided by all the seats) I can appreciate an error being made. Or two. Or three. Once we got to 5 we were like ok wow. Most of us were trying to tip until someone noticed we already got a 20% auto grat added. I like the concept. It was definitely pretty cool with the virtual golf and the bar scene all in one. My firm had a social event here. We were a decent size group. Prices for drinks were more on the pricier side but it was the virtual golf that made us decide to host the event here. They have pretty much any drinks that you can think of on the drink menu Food was ok. People who come here are not for the food but for the drinks. We also noticed that the venue was not very busy. Reservations are required if you are considering on booking events here. Decor was pretty trendy looking. The place was pretty clean. We definitely all had a great time. read more

I walk by One Under quite often and I've always been intrigued by their comedic sandwich board. I'm not a golfer though. By that I mean, I've never golfed. Ever. I didn't think One Under would be for me. Boy was I wrong. I went here last night for a small work event. The servers were on top of their game, bringing our pre-ordered appies out as soon as we arrived. We all ordered drinks and our server carefully remembered each drink order. I started my night off with a Suit and Tie and, man, it was good! Our appies (charcuterie, prawn cocktails, and salmon wraps) were also very good. The perfect finger food to start the night off with. We ordered a few pizzas as well and that left us satisfied. When it came to actually golfing, I was terrible. Seriously, don't pick me to be on your team for any competitive golf tournaments. Our group wasn't playing competitively though so I still had a great time! It was nice that you could pick different styles of golf: you could do a golf course, or you could try breaking windows in a building. There was an option for kids as well (I should have tried that one). 5 star service, good food and drinks, plus an awesome environment equals a great night out. A Christmas gift for DH and me, we brought a few friends along for the ride and spent more money indoor golfing than we do outdoor golfing. Honestly, I am tempted to drop the rating down to three just based on value alone. It's pretty tough to justify 50 bucks an hour (which works out to basically 50 bucks per person playing golf) to hit a ball at a screen. It's so loud at night you can barely have a conversation and golf, and once you factor in some eats and drinks, it easily becomes a one-to-two hundred dollar night. To play golf. Inside. But that was really my only negative. The staff was great, the food was solid, the drinks were yummy, and the company we were with made for a super fun night. I'm just not sure we will be back with any frequency due to the price of admission. read more

I can't believe this is only one block from my condo! I can definitely see this as a wicked place to go for drinks after work. Simulators were a lot of fun, although I don't think they are as accurate as is claimed. Most of the time, they seemed pretty bang on though. Drink list was solid, but my definite highlight was the Moscow Mule. They served it in a proper copper cup, and that gets huge bonus points from me! At $50 an hour (regular price), it's not cheap, but then again for the convenience of being right down town, I would say it's worth it. Great way to spend a rainy day or a Friday and Saturday night. Pizzas are great too. I've golfed each time I've come here but it's a decent enough setup to just grab a drink and a bite Biggest downside and the thing that stops me from coming much more regularly is the fact they don't let you use your own clubs, which is a turnoff for avid golfers and steers it more towards the novelty value. This place is an absolute blast! I've been to other golf simulators, and they are not nearly as swag as this place. I went here for a charity event, and right when I walked in, I was impressed. There are a lot of simulators and a private room with a simulator. The good was really good too. Overall, it is a really neat place to hang out whether you're a golfer or not. It was so cool I was even tempted to buy a hat. They also have Herschel bags there. I will definitely be back. I'm looking forward to frequenting this place when it is too hot, too cold, or too dark to play outside :). read more

I cane here last night for a birthday celebration. I'm not a fan of golfing, but the simulators were surprisingly fun! Also, the food was better than I expected. I tried three types of pizza and all of them were packed with flavour. The BBQ Chicken was especially delicious! The servers were already pretty friendly and happy, which kept the birthday celebration upbeat. They were on top of collecting empty glasses and offering more drinks. Really limited food menu, pizza that they do have is ok. The main reason for coming here is the golf simulator. A bit strange that you can't bring your own clubs but I'm sure there's a reason. The bread sticks aren't great & lobster sandwich isn't worth it. The actual simulators are alright. The private room didn't quite have enough space for a good follow through and you'd often hit the curtain. Putting isn't the best for the simulator as it often doesn't register the shot. Service was ok, the layout makes it difficult to keep on top of the tables/groups. read more

I personally love One Under. The golf is really fun, the food is tasty and they have a great whisky list. The food will come out at different times as they have limited kitchen space and only room for 2 pizzas at a time. But thats really not a big deal. They also dont let you use your own clubs and i think thats great. Seeing a bunch of other clubs lined up in the sims would be a bit of a buzz kill. Besides they have brand new Taylor Made m2 clubs. Well done One Under I will always be happy coming here for a snack and a round or 2. read more

I come to One Under frequently for the golf simulators. The clubs are well-kept and they have both left and right hand options. The game itself is very realistic but is idealized since you are driving off the matt every shot. The food options are also very good (I recommend the Jerk chicken pizza). The servers are also very welcoming and the venue very clean. They also have large TVs that broadcast various sports going on that day. read more

Cool spot! I thought the golf will be like wii golf but you use actual clubs and hit the ball. Quite fun! They have jenga and connect 4 as well. The pizza is pretty good. Would have given 5 stars but the pricey cocktails are too weak. Tried their pisco sour which wasn't boozey enough and took a good 20 minutes. I brought my husband here on his birthday for lunch and some golf! We had a great time golfing together and enjoying some lunch. We ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and a charcuterie board - both were awesome! The staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us setup our game and answered any questions we had along the way. The golfing simulator was great! A little finicky on putting but to be expected. We played for just over an hour ($50/hr). I'll be coming back and likely with a bigger group - they have an awesome back room for groups id like to try! read more

I attended One Under for a friend's birthday. He booked the private room and it was a decent size. A bit of a classier lounge area with a TV so you could have a casual business meeting here for those rainy days if one desires. Although keep in mind that at no time virtual golf can replace real golf. I would also say that the simulator could use some better graphics. It is 2017 afterall. I also concur that in the private room (not sure about the other stalls), there is not enough space to swing your club freely as it's likely that you'll hit the curtain on the side. I just had a slice of pizza which was different and they have a full bar. I'd slide it up to 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed me to. read more

Prepare yourselves because the experience I had here was a total nightmare. I saw this place on social media and I have always been one to try new things so with my birthday coming up I decided to have my birthday there. I was super excited to try this place out. I made reservations via their online system a few days in advance. 8 people, 8pm, Friday night. I arrived at 8pm and informed the waitress that I had a reservation. Upon looking around I saw all the simulators were full so I was hoping there wasn't a mix up in my reservation! The waitress checked and let us know we booked simulator one however the people were finishing off their round so it'll be a few minutes. Sure- that happens. People run behind. About 10 to 15 minutes later, we finally get to go to our simulator to start playing. This is where the issues began. If you have been to One Under, you'll know there is a small table top near the simulators by the computer (with about 3 seats) and behind the simulators there are bigger tables. Well, as luck would have it, the group of guys who were running behind on our booked simulator also decided to stay and take their time hanging out at the table right behind our simulator. So myself and 7 friend just hung around the simulator and small table top wondering when we were going to be able to sit down. We came at 8pm so we also planned on ordering food. As my friends tried to get the game going, I asked the waitress about the table and if it was included in our booking. She said no it's usually not and has to be reserved separately. That was annoying because nowhere on the online reservation did it indicate this and now I was left thinking my friends would have nowhere to sit. The waitress suggested bringing 5 chairs around our small table top or having my friends at a different table which was about 15 steps away. I said that wasn't ideal because then we'd have to keep walking back and forth and you couldn't even see our simulator from that table. I blatantly asked her if we were going to get the table behind us because if not then we won't be ordering pizza because there's no room to eat it. She said she will see what she can do. All along while my friends are super confused and wondering if they should be ordering pizza (and where we will be eating it) or not. We are 45 minutes into our time and so I just ask the waitress if she can ask the group of guys to move to the empty table (The same one she suggested we go to). She says she'll see what she can do. She comes back and says they're just finishing up their round and then leaving. So I tell my friends we should order. My friends order and the pizzas arrive and there's literally nowhere to put them. I'm super frustrated- the group of guys are still at the table, pizzas are coming with nowhere to put them, and my friends are all just standing around the simulator wondering what's going on. It wasn't a good time. I finally ask to speak to a manager and we come up with the solution to move us to the simulator that is in front of the empty table. Thank you manager (I forgot her name). My group moves over to the new simulator and starts a new game. About 5 minutes in... the machine starts to reset and all our scores are gone. I let the waitress know (Same waitress) and we just continue to play because we were only 1 round in. 15 minutes later, after 6 rounds, the machine decides to reset again and all our scores are gone again. Talk about frustrating. At that point, I was over it. No one was having fun and it just seemed like problem after problem. I didn't want to play anymore so we decided to just leave. Side note, one of the pizzas we ordered took forever to come out and didn't come out until we decided to pay our bill, basically after everyone else ate. We left the restaurant at 9:30 pm. The manager was so kind and I know the waitress did her best. Because of them, I give this place 2 stars instead of 1. She did not charge us for the time we booked and they comp'd the beer I had. I appreciate that. Unfortunately it just wasn't working out for us. read more

We just got to Vancouver and decided to go here. Good choice! Our bartender Josephine was super friendly and helpful :) I had the grilled avocado quinoa salad (really good, pretty big) and my mom had the Banh Mi. We went on a Monday night so it was nice and empty. The server/bartender was really cool and very attentive. We were one of two groups in the whole place. The golf simulator was pretty good most of the time, but on occasion you'd hit something and it wouldn't register at all. Also, we found that using the driver usually resulted in hitting the curtain a tad on the follow-through which was a bit jarring at times. We had a pizza and that was delicious.
