I had a less than great experience at the location off of Mayo and the 101 in Scottsdale, but I don't see an option to review that store, so I am posting here. I went in just to get the regular nutritional shake, with only the flavor, base, and multivitamin. I do love their Low-Carb Meal Replacement shakes and Post-Workout, but I decided to get the other one because I did not want the excessive calories that day, and for some reason, that really pissed off the guy at the counter. When I told him what I wanted, he looked at me dumbfounded and asked me why I didn't want one of the more expensive shakes that have protein powder in them, saying "You know that doesn't have protein, right?"... I found it very insensitive that he thought it was necessary to make a point about how I didn't have protein in my shake. Why do you offer a basic nutritional shake then?? I confirmed his disappointment with my decision upon tasting my shake. I order the same thing every time, flavor wise, so I know exactly how it is supposed to taste. He added wayyyyyy to much flavoring, causing my shake to be very tart and sour.
Bottom line, is that male employees at a nutritional store, need to understand that woman cannot consume as many calories that men can, because we typically cannot burn as much, and the employees here, who consist of only buff steroid-looking douche bags, need to be sensitive to the fact that woman cannot eat THAT many calories all the time, especially if on a cutting program, which I am currently on. Whoever runs this store needs to explain to their male employees that females understand the importance of protein, and that I do not need to be schooled by a dude making smoothies, about how much protein I should be consuming per day. Especially someone like me who not only comes from a family of body builders, but studied nutrition in college, so no need to try to up sell me on a more expensive shake, cuz I'm not that dumb! I have a strict daily caloric intake allowance, and that day, I had no room for anything else.
The only other thing I would comment on is that they do not provide customers with the full nutritional profile for the shakes on their menu. It only has the amount of macro nutrients, which is great and all, but, most of the clientele that they get are people who take nutrition seriously, and are likely on some type of program from food. So not knowing how many calories I am consuming or the ingredients, is not cool. They should update their menu with the full nutrition profiles...
Other than that, all of the other locations I have been to all have very nice employees, and my drinks always taste consistent regardless of where I go. The Scottsdale and Shea location is my favorite. There is a girl there who is always very nice and says hi every time I come in.
I will probably not return to this location because this guy in particular was such an ass. read more
