Spend a day here, we did Sunday from noon to 4. They have breakfast at The Coffee Shop, lunch at…read moreJoe's Farm Grill, and dinner with wine at Garage-East. There is a farm with a chicken coop, even seating if you want to eat there. There is a Farm Store with produce grown from this farm. There is Barnone which has a bar, pizzeria, ice cream shop, vegan lunch spot, salon, and more. On 2nd Wednesdays are Farmer's Market Nights called "Agritopia Farm Night", which is a big event here, from 5-8 (Sept to May, no Jan). Parking is everywhere. In front of The Coffee Shop, behind The Coffee Shop, next to The Farm Store, Garage East, and near Joe's Farm Grill. On a Sunday in September, there was parking and we were walk-ins everywhere. It was nice to find both, a seat and a place to park. Only a walk a way in Epicenter is Buck & Rider, UnderTow, Bunky Boutique, and Peixoto. Warm in September, wear a hat and stay hydrated.

Agritopia is a community that encourages "village" life and preservation of urban agriculture…read more Central to the community is a functioning farm. The farm grows a wide variety of vegetables, fruit, nuts, herbs, and plants. The Farm at Agritopia operates a self-serve farm store and hosts a Wednesday farmers market during the season. The Agritopia Community Garden is a gathering place for members to garden, grow healthy produce, and build community in the garden. There are 48 individual 20x20 plots and 6 half plots. Each plot is leased yearly. The plot, water, access to the tool shed, and social functions of the gardeners are all included in the lease. Also located in Agritopia is The Epicenter, which is a mixed use commercial and residential project featuring retail stores, health clubs, restaurants, a luxury apartment, and more to come. Agritopia is one of my favorites if not my most favorite place in the Valley. I love the community, what it offers as well as the stores and restaurants. Although there are plenty of free parking all around Agritopia, it can be challenging to find a spot on weekend evenings as well as Farm Nights.

It was hard to make it here during my trip to Phoenix because of their limited hours, but I am SO…read moreglad I did. As a health food vegan, I am always on the lookout for food like this: whole foods/plant-based, including some oil-free options. Their whole menu reads like a list of my favorite food buzzwords: buckwheat, lentil cauliflower scramble, sunflower seed meat, local fermented sauerkraut, freshly milled Sonoran wheat; tempeh, sourdough, homemade seeded bread, homemade cashew milk, etc. etc. It was legitimately hard to decide what to get. I went with the baked(!) strawberry banana oat buckwheat pancakes. Super tasty, and a generous portion. I also couldn't resist an oil-free sunbutter cookie (with its wacky bluegreen tinge that was apparently from the sunflower seeds) and also loved the cold brew coffee with cashew milk.

It is a little pricey, however, it's worth the cost. As I mentioned, everything is healthy and made fresh. You can't get that without paying a bit extra Their bread is so good, the chutney is awesome, their little side salads are so tasty. I haven't tried anything here that I have not loved. They are a small husband and wife run business, which is always great to see. They are very friendly people who clearly love what they do. There's limited seating indoors, as it's inside Barnone, but you can easily find places to sit outdoors as well.

Christopher in the supplements section is always very helpful! I'm always treated like royalty there and it is my only daughter that I frequent most of the time but sometimes I have to go to the other ones unfortunately! I buy the rotisserie chicken here all the time. Unfortunately tonight when I got home and started…read morepulling the chicken apart it was severely undercooked. I hate dry chicken so I'm a fan of it being properly cooked and moist., I know sometimes by the bone it's a little pink, but on this chicken the breast wasn't even fully cooked which is very scary. It was raw enough that it was difficult to pull apart. It was raw. I called the store and when someone answered and I told her she then asked me if I wanted to come get another one or if I wanted a refund. I told her that I wanted them to pull the rest the chicken off display cause it's not cooked, and she said "I'm about to leave but for sure, so do you want a refund or another one?" I don't think she was understanding. I called back out of concern and she said they had checked the other chickens and they were fine. I really don't understand how undercooked chicken can then be holding proper temp under a heat lamp. If the chicken wasn't cooked to temp in the kitchen, which it clearly wasn't, it makes no sense how only my chicken was undercooked. She asked if I wanted to talk to a manager and I said yes and then was put on hold. I had understood from the beginning that a manager was taking care of this. I work in the food industry. This chicken was not cooked.
